  1. Waze Beaches

Coastal cities and visitors would greatly benefit from a waze extension that allows real time updates on beach events, parking lot updates, surf warnings, travel time etc... I think having this for all coastal cities would be essential and I bet it would take off as a separate waze app or extension to waze. I know I'd use it!

  3. Add a gate/restricted option for gated communities/parks/highways and time of travel restrictions

There are some roads that you can only travel on if you have permission, such as a private road that requires a gate code or key. There are other public roads that are only passable at certain times of the year (e.g. Hwy 120 in Yosemite due to snow conditions).

That private road may still be open to the general public during certain hours of the day. As well that public road may only be open during certain seasons. As well someone else pointed out that certain roads have turns restricted based on time of the day.

    It seems like…

  4. Names assigned recently for some existing public lanes by East York council in Toronto

I'm a collge journalist student. On September 16, 2019 the council approved to add names of people and other historical aspects of Toronto to some existing public lanes for people to easily navigate to and had 2 street closures..

I'll add the info here for the update but in return I would appreciate a quote for my article which really will help me graduate since I'm in my final year.

What is the process of getting you navigation system updated and how long will it take?

This is from the offical government website and each change has its own PDF…

  5. Choose a different warning!

    Hey Waze,
When giving a Warning and using 'WATCH OUT!!!!" as the alert , its over kill . This is used when there's a car
on the side of the road/Hwy , it's tooooo over the top for a simple " There's a car on the side of the road"
or Caution, car on the side if the road.

Use 'WATCH OUT!!!" sparingly, like a flipped over car ahead, or horses in the middle of the road ( or sheep, or deer or, dogs, or ___________________ fill in the blank.

WATCH OUT ( for me) is startling. We get…

  6. Routing/Re-Routing "Aggressiveness" Setting

Sometimes I'm ok with the "stay on the freeway, even though it may be a bit longer due to traffic". Other times, I want to take every shortcut possible to shave a few minutes off my trip. The most aggressive setting might refresh every 2-3 minutes, and suggest non-traditional routes like alleys, service roads, neighborhood cut-throughs, and even parking lots, if there is any chance it will shorten the trip. A less aggressive setting (default) would keep you on easy-to-follow routes like freeways and major roads.

  7. Map pinning on iPhone while using CarPlay

Hello Waze team! Please make it available to see/pin routes on iPhone while using CarPlay with Waze together. Im living in the place where I dont know names of streets(and im new to driving) and can only find the spot by using map. I always have to stop somewhere, disconnect my phone from carplay, find and pin the area, then connect back. Its very painful job, especially when traffic is full and there is no place to park. Whenever I start using waze with car play, I dont have an access to map on screen of my phone, cant…

  8. Corporate carpool subscription?

    Hi,

Any plans to allow a subscriber company to have an isolated waze carpool limited to its own employees?

This provides some initial vetting for all carpool participants, perhaps alleviating some of the uncertainty around joining a carpool.

Features might include average monthly rider calculations, by location, that the organization can then use in renegotiating subsidized parking fees from local lot/garage providers to include shared spots. The number can also be used to calculate carbon emissions offset using the calculation defined by the EPA (https://www.epa.gov/energy/greenhouse-gas-equivalencies-calculator), giving the organization some good internal and external PR.

  9. Require vehicles to be moving when posting alerts

Police in Virginia have started using Waze and deleting the report as soon as someone posts. If you require a vehicle to be moving to post, then the officer wouldn’t be able to delete the police report while they’re parked.

  10. Allow Restriction Conditions for Workspaces; & Allow Areas to have Local Permit/Pass Types (IE: Student Parking, Staff Parking)

Certain Roadways are set as restricted due to having gates, or other access controlling systems in place. The Waze Engine ignores these roadways as far as I am aware, which can affect those who work in the area. I think it would be a cool feature to have the ability to allow Regional Restrictions, it would benefit large sites, such as Colleges, Gated Communities, and other high density areas with varying road restrictions.

I have attached two images of Restriction Concepts I have made within the Restriction Editor.

  11. Use my device's GPS accuracy to determine route stickyness

I often find myself "stuck" to parallel roads because Waze routed me that way and I "must" be following the route--even though my GPS places me over 20m (65ft) away!
When I go to Taco Bell on my way to work, it's so I can go through the drive thru, NOT so I can roll past the front door as Waze would have me do. But the 15m (50ft) out of the parking lot is "close enough" to assume that I'm following the route.
This also happens when I'm trying to train Waze to take a longer route out…

  12. The app should show us the toll at the highway. Also in a near future waze should tell us where there is a parking place near our desteny.

The app showing us and telling us the toll ahead on the highway and the price.
Also would be very nice the app telling us empty parking places near our destiny address. This would be a great deal.
    Thanks.

  13. Overlay display information

Need display overlay add-in where information signaled. e.g. nearest gas stations within certain radius, next parking lot .This information overlay is permanetly enabled (if feature enabled) so you are informaed on upcomming gas stations, parling lots etc... not display within map so you can predict in more deistance before encountering it

  15. Adds to map locations you are no longer at

When you arrive at your destination you should be able to go back into map locations you are not at and make reports.. Ex find street previously driven and report police in parking lot of gas station hidden so that if you can't imeadiately make report the info is still given.

  16. Photos of location

Hi my name is Joseph I'm from SanFrancisco Ca, I'm a father and student in the Bay Area. I use waze well I work driving and I notice you guys don't have a lot of photos of the location/ building / space. I was wondering if waze had someone working on that or if you needed someone to help take as many photos of building, parks, restraints, etc. I would be happy to help out if needed. I travel around the Bay Area a lot and would love to go other places to help. I always have spare time…

  17. In New York City thr app constantly directs is to the Cross Bronx Expressway ie 95. NOBODY drives there because it is a parking lot of truck

Stoo directing us to the Cross Bronx Expressway in NY city. Inhave to ignore your directions every time. ANYONE who drives in NYC avoids it like the plague. It is a parking lot of trucks. So over and over your directions are useless to me.

  18. Allow assigning a dropped pin as Home or Work addresses!

My Home Garage is accesses through a long lane way / alley. My work parking beneath the building is accessed from a small side street. The result is that driving directions approach both locations from the wrong direction. I waste time in both directions & navigation needs to be manually ended.

Please allow me to assign a dropped pin as my addresses. Thanks!

Feel free to set your work address from current location. Here’s how:
    1. Travel to needed location (e.g. your work parking)
    2. In app open menu on the left, click on your profile name and select “Home and Work” menu
    3. Select “Set work address” (if no work address added) or tap the edit button on existing work address.
    4. Select “Current location”.

  19. Question: How are routes placed in order from top to bottom? I ask as I did not have time to think of checking routes this past Friday trave

Question: How are routes placed in order from top to bottom? I ask as I did not have time to think of checking routes this past Friday traveling from Moncks Corner, SC to Greenville, SC. I've used WAZE since 2013, including covering nine thousand miles before returning home to the Charleston, SC area. I've chosen from the optional routes in the past but, to me, the top route was usually the best. The one I was on Friday may have been considered as that however the rental car charging ports for my smartphone were not working and there I was…

  20. Show cost of travel (toll + fuel + maybe parking values).

When choosing a destination and between different paths, toll routes could have the cost of those tolls.
As an additional feature it could calculate fuel cost (having the car/engine information, average speed and total distance).

Thank you for your suggestion! As you may know, Waze calculates and displays toll prices in many parts of the world. To know when this becomes available in your country, stay tuned on Waze’s social pages on Facebook and Instagram
