1. Keep turn alerts on the screen!

   In the past if I had to turn off the main road to the left in 10 Km - I would have a left arrow on the screen showing 10 Km with the number decreasing as I approach the turn.
   For the past couple of years you've changed things around that on every approaching junction the left arrow turns to a straight arrow - making me fully confused as to how far my turn is.
   As a result of this change I have already missed many turns that I should have taken, because I was not properly prepared ahead of time to move to the left lane, or know how far the correct turn is.
   This is very frustrating and annoying. I really don't understand why I need to be alerted when to continue straight when I should constantly be shown when my turn is.

   Please bring back the old way of navigation!

2. Less Handed use , using the detailes, that the app provide and use it well !

   When I have a turn or going to a junction , The WAZE knows how much meters I need to arrive to the point where i turn or change lanes , So this is the deal , while driving you can see how much meters or kilometers , you need till the next turn in addition to that the APP knows The speed of the driver , SO if you run this math -> S/V=T which is the time that i need till the point , so the APP will tell me that in 15 seconds (when T=15) to say , that there is a turn or to move to the nearest lane on the road ; and when (T=7) Tell driver that in 5 seconds you have to go right or left , when a driver is easier for him to know time he wont get wrong count , but by seeing meters you wont be able to mature it and to keep hands & eyes away from the phone , Its All About Listening also Focusing on the road ! less accedents and less problems !

   I live in Northern Virginia in the Washington DC suburbs. Many of my trips take me around the DC Beltway and on other roads that have "Hot Lanes." The Hot Lanes generally operate next to the regular lanes, but being toll lanes, sometimes move faster, which is why some people use them. 

   Most of the time, I don't use Hot Lanes because most of the time, they don't get me there appreciably faster and are not worth the money. There have, however, been times when I would have liked to have known how much time I could save by using them. The current system (as I understand it) treats these roads as one road, and changes the trip times based on whether I'm avoiding toll roads. The only way I've found to compare Hot Lane-versus-regular lane trip times/costs is to go into the menu>settings>navigation>avoid tolls and change the setting back and forth. That's a lot to try to do while driving. 

   I can turn on "avoid tolls." Two problems with that: 1) if the regular route is going to take an hour longer (this has happened) it would be nice to know that, and 2) if I forget to turn off "avoid tolls" and then go elsewhere in the country, Waze will take me off a toll road that I would be happy to take and instead put me on city streets and/or route me miles out of the way (this has happened).  

   It sure would be nice if Waze treated Hot Lanes and adjacent regular lanes as two different routes and made it easier to choose between them based on understanding the different trip times/costs. To minimize phone fiddling while driving, it would be great if there was an audible choice, e.g., "in half a mile, take the hot/express lanes for $10 to save 20 minutes." Another option I've heard suggested is to be able to set a minimum time savings or some other simple cost/benefit criteria for taking toll roads. At a minimum, for me, having the "avoid tolls" button more accessible would be helpful. 

   I don't know how much of my problem applies to people in other parts of the country/world, but I've heard a lot of complaints from people in the DC area, such that they avoid using navigation apps due to this kind of lack of useful information.

4. Using Waze app in areas other than major highways!

   We are in Waterford Michigan and we love to use the Waze app when we go up north to our cottage and also to Canada to see our family. I see everybody using Waze on major highways and thorough fairs, but as soon as you get off the highway on two lane asphalt roads with police hiding, no one seems to be using their Waze app! You might wanna consider contacting some users and encouraging the group to use Waze on these roads, because a ticket is a ticket! When we get off the highway and have to drive another hour, or through these types of roads, we hardly see any people using Waze, so it loses its effectiveness… If everyone would ban together and keep using Waze on these off highway roads, we would all benefit!

5. Match multiple riders to unlock HOV for everyone

   In the San Francisco Bay Area, and many other municipalities, HOV lanes require 3 or more people to use. If Waze Rider had a feature that let you request an HOV carpool only, and would enable multiple matches so that you could get 3 people in the car (driver + 2 riders), everyone would save 45 minutes of traffic. That would be a huge incentive to get people to use the app, meaning easier and more matches and fewer cars on the road.

   Changing this to Not Planned, as it doesn't fit on our roadmap in the near future. We'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

6. Update algorithms for common sense

   I travel to work on a 4 lane divided highway. Same car, same route, same phone, every day. I continually get that damned CHIRP as I'm driving 80 mph down the divided highway and it will recalculate, thinking I've somehow made a miraculous 90 degree turn to the right, at 80 mph, and it thinks it has to recalculate my route. 1) how about you put some common sense into your algorithms, that will figure "this vehicle has been on this highway for xx miles, it hasn't slowed down any...so it must not be turning onto the side street". 2) can you FINALLY give us the option to TURN OFF THAT DAMNED CHIRP??? It should be an easy thing - put a tick-box in the settings page. Simple. Or, just have it turn off when the user switches to "alerts only". Thank you.

7. Improving on route and more functions.

   I been using waze daily for work as uber driver. There is time can be annoying when waze divert me to another route which is less traffic and mileage is far than origin route. This may cause additional cost on the fare and some riders may not feel comfortable if any route change. My suggestion to waze is have a option for waze as below:-

   1) Option to ignore traffic jams so we can maintain current route without any diversion to other route. Let waze user to choose to stuck in traffic or find alternative route. :)

   2) Option to avoid small country/inner roads due to inner road conditions may not be comfortable/too many turns/junctions.

   3) Lane assist for waze user due to turn to turn alert may experience delay/inaccurate.

   4) Navigation > Fastest/shortest route need improvement. Calculation on mileage/km still not accurate as it seems. During waze i find there is better route and nearer based on distance/Km compare to suggestion by waze.

   5) To add a economy route on navigation - based on nearest distance/km by using highway and mixture of non toll roads.

8. Navigate to direction only works in parked gear

   At the moment the only way you can select a place to navigate to is possible when you are in parked gear in your car. The moment your car is in movement, you are unable to choose the point to navigate to. This includes being stationary on red light when the car is in drive gear.

   Comparing this to Google maps navigation where you can choose any of your recent addresses to navigate to and the only thing that is not available is using the keyboard.

   I understand the safety aspect of selecting the places to drive to when in parked, but it's not always possible and I would say it's actually less practical as sometimes parking in single lane roads just to choose where to navigate might be more dangerous.

   It would be helpful for people that do many drops or change the places to drive to often

9. Avoid Thomas Hill Rd, Madison, IN 47250

   We have semi tractor trailer traffic that comes from North and East that is directed from the main highways to take Thomas Hill Rd. This is not a semi tractor trailer safe road. It is one lane, windy, and no guard rails with many sharp turns. They get stuck and have to be towed back out. This causes degradation of the road at a higher rate than normal erosion, it is very unsafe, uses county resources to remove them, etc. THey are trying to get to the power plant that is at the bottom of this hill. A regular pass car can take the road. Semi traffic should use Clifty Drive (St Rd 62) and then Hanover Hill (St Rd 56). How can this be implemented in your system ? I am contacting all major map systems to see if I can get this changed. The road signs are not working.

10. Create user profiles

    I wish Waze, like Netflix and so many other must-have apps, let you create user profiles.

    That way, to give just one example, you wouldn’t have to change the HOV setting each time you use a Tesla to “electric” (which allows you to use certain HOV lanes).

11. "Prefer Freeways" instead of "Avoid Tolls"

    Currently, you can set Waze to 'avoid tolls' which is handy - but this prevents Waze from recommending tollways when there is traffic on the freeway. For example, in Dallas we have 635 and 635 Express. Both follow the exact same path, the only difference is the express lanes cost around $5. It would be very nice if Waze would prefer the freeway, but still recommend the tollway if there is significant traffic reported on the freeway.

    Also, Waze seems to have trouble telling if I am on the freeway or tollway, since they are basically right next to each other (in some areas they are actually right on top of each other). I'm not sure what, if anything, can be done about this - but FYI...

    When inputting hazards there should be an option on highways to say cops are in the median between the lanes.

13. toll booth alert off switch

    Ability to turn off Toll Booth alert

    99.9% of the time, I am driving the same roads as I'm sure most users are. That means I know where the toll booths are. In my area, they aren't booths, just cameras. The lanes don't get narrow or slow down. There are good signs that toll cameras are ahead. The alert from Waze is just a nuisance and there is no option to turn it off like all of the other alert types.

14. Camera AI

    Use the camera along with AI and any dash mount to recognize lanes. Additionally, with some fine tuning of an AI, recognize when the driver witnesses a wreck, confirm it was a wreck, and then send a recording to police along with contact info for driver.

15. Useless information

    Dear on duty!
    I drive a lot to work and back. Hours each day. Mostly, I use the app to foresee road blocks so I could re-route through back roads that even Waze doesn't know about.
    But I get a lot of useless notifications like "left lane blocked" or "fog". These notifications are pointing out the obvious. You wasted time programming, I wasted time reading it. This morning the app told me "bad weather"! This flipped my lid off. Like what? I'll explain.
    How do you measure good or bad? Bad for who? It's latitude 59, it's December. I'd say +7C is not bad weather. Yes, it's off statistics (it should be -10C), but it's not bad. It could be sleeting sideways. It was just dark and rainy. Get over it!
    The information I need is the kind that makes me make decisions as I drive. Stuff like potholes, dead bodies, zombies, vegans, accidents ahead - those fleeting hazards. My eyes are fine, checked by doctors - I can see it's foggy. Typically I saw that fog hours before your notification - your notification is hours late. I can see the left lane block miles before your pop-up thing. There are traffic signs, remember?
    I know people like to report, post, and share everything they see, it gives them some sort of satisfaction. A little good deed per day - I reported poor weather on Waze (Go Karen!). Keep the possibility, but don't show it to everyone driving by.
    What you can do with the obvious information is push it out in advance. When I tap "drive me Home" on the screen, it then plans my route. And now it could come back with a notification covering the possible hazards on the planned route - traffic jams, slippery road, poor visibility, etc. I can make decisions before I hit the road. I can take a phone call home warning that I may be late for dinner due to poor road condition.
    Every piece of information has value, but the timing must be correct, otherwise it's just noise.

16. Waze directions are given too late

    I have recently moved to Melbourne Australia. Every road, every intersection, every turn is new to me. I've been an avid Waze user for many years, but I cannot use it anymore. Every directional instruction is 1-3 seconds too late. I have never encountered this problem, because I only used the alert voice setting since I knew my daily drive and area very well.

    A few examples:
    1) When approaching an intersection while in the middle of a 5 lane road, the direction to turn right is only given once the lane turn-offs begin.
    2) When in a residential area where the speed limit is 60km/h, Waze only says "turn right" when the right-turn is 10m away. Yes, I do acknowledge that 300m before the right-turn it said "in 300 meters, turn right", but the problem is between the initial instruction and the right-turn, there may be another turn in between and it's hard to judge distance in a new environment - see point 3 below.
    3) See previous point for reference. I often find that after I have turned, Waze would say "in 200 meters", but 50 meters have passed already, so it's hard to judge what distance remains and thus it's hard to judge the actual remaining distance.

    While driving, my passenger had Google Maps open. Every instruction was in perfect timing. I don't like the look of the Google Maps interface very much, but when driving I don't have to look at the screen - I only have to listen to the instructions. For new users, this is the primary reason for using a GPS nav app.

    I loved Waze with the personalization options and clean UI. You were by my side for over a decade. Sorry Waze team for leaving. My intention for using a GPS navigation app is to get to my destination without missing turns. Unfortunately Waze is lagging behind Google Maps in this regard.

    If part of the Waze roadmap is to acquire new users, then this issue must deserve proper attention.

17. closed railroad cros

    They are working here on some railroad lanes. That makes the railroad crossings are closed for weeks.
    There is no way to add this in waze.

18. More comprehensive directions

    Waze should be able to give more detailed and frequent directions, perhaps as a selectable option (e.g. regular "keep left/right and go straight for the next __ metres" reminders, or more frequent "turn left in __ metres" instructions every 50m rather than 100m/200m).

    In one experience, the road I was travelling on split to two separate but parallel lanes, and because Waze didn't mention anything I ended up taking the wrong path. A more frequent reminder to keep left/right would have avoided this.

    tl;dr make Waze more talkative.

19. Heads up display issues

    I regularly use Android Auto which integrates nicely with my BMW's heads up display. When using Waze, there are two issues I notice immediately. The first are the suggested lanes is not displayed, yet Google Maps will show the lanes. Also, when a specific font is used, the characters don't show correctly. Instead I get question marks. I have images to share, but don't know how through this site.

20. Useless information

    Dear on duty!
    I drive a lot to work and back. Hours each day. Mostly, I use the app to foresee road blocks so I could re-route through back roads that even Waze doesn't know about.
    But I get a lot of useless notifications like "left lane blocked" or "fog". These notifications are pointing out the obvious. You wasted time programming, I wasted time reading it. This morning the app told me "bad weather"! This flipped my lid off. Like what? I'll explain.
    How do you measure good or bad? Bad for who? It's latitude 59, it's December. I'd say +7C is not bad weather. Yes, it's off statistics (it should be -10C), but it's not bad. It could be sleeting sideways. It was just dark and rainy. Get over it!
    The information I need is the kind that makes me make decisions as I drive. Stuff like potholes, dead bodies, zombies, vegans, accidents ahead - those fleeting hazards. My eyes are fine, checked by doctors - I can see it's foggy. Typically I saw that fog hours before your notification - your notification is hours late. I can see the left lane block miles before your pop-up thing. There are traffic signs, remember?
    I know people like to report, post, and share everything they see, it gives them some sort of satisfaction. A little good deed per day - I reported poor weather on Waze (Go Karen!). Keep the possibility, but don't show it to everyone driving by.
    What you can do with the obvious information is push it out in advance. When I tap "drive me Home" on the screen, it then plans my route. And now it could come back with a notification covering the possible hazards on the planned route - traffic jams, slippery road, poor visibility, etc. I can make decisions before I hit the road. I can take a phone call home warning that I may be late for dinner due to poor road condition.
    Every piece of information has value, but the timing must be correct, otherwise it's just noise.
