A smartphone app that looks for free Parking spots

The app is a paid app. The user pays 120 tokens per year. For this, he receives information about the locations of free Parking.
The use of the information about free Parking you have to pay 1 token. The token is debited from the account automatically when the user is declared by the application location. When the user leaves the location, then the location is considered to be free. The information that the user has left the place, can be read with the help of geolocation.
Every time the user finds somewhere free Parking, ihe can inform the app. If location someone takes, who pays for that badge. Half of the token to the user, half – owners of the application. Thus application pays for itself quickly.
In the long term – the use of drones that will look out for the free Parking lot.

WAZE navigation system could be adapted to the nation's railroad netword where it could become a new-technology Positive Train Control.

Railroad Safety: a Ten Billion Dollar Boondoggle

Derailments and collisions between trains are spectacular. Their economic and environmental consequences are considerable and they kill and injure people. In response, over the past forty years, pressed by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and Congress the railroads have been implementing Positive Train Control (PTC) systems to reduce the potential for these crashes.
Actually, U.S. railroads are quite safe for passengers. An average of only 5 people die in train crashes each year: slightly more than are killed in motor vehicle crashes in an hour. The number of serious injuries among train occupants is similarly low. On the other hand, nearly 700 “trespassers” die annually after being struck by trains while on or near railroad tracks and about 100 more are killed in vehicles struck by trains at grade crossings. These casualties are a consequence of two challenges: trains cannot be stopped quickly and it is difficult to keep people away from railroad tracks. PTC will do nothing for those struck by moving trains.
The nation’s railroads and the FRA have spent about $10 billion on a variety of PTC systems and will apparently spend a few billion more to complete them. According to the FRA: “PTC systems are integrated command, control, communications, and information systems designed to prevent train accidents by controlling train movements with safety, security, precision, and efficiency.”
Railroad transportation in the U.S. matured a century ago. Train dispatch, safety, maintenance, and such were mostly developed in the 20th century. More recent technologies are mostly used to provide an electronic substitute or enhancement of what had been done by hand. Modern communications are generally used as a substitute for the telegraph or telephones. It is an important, but hoary industry in desperate need of a 21st Century overhaul.
Road users have the advantage of well-developed, real time, satellite-based navigation systems. There is no such unified system for railroads. Instead, the railroads are wasting their and the government’s money on ten duplicative, but not particularly compatible PTC systems that require very large numbers of expensive, high maintenance, and probably unreliable trackside sensors to monitor the position and speed of train sets. Since railroads regularly use each other’s’ tracks, this duplication is bizarre. Implementation of PTC has been delayed for years, at least in part because of the cost to complete it.

The WAZE/Google navigation system provides not only information on where roads go, which can be used for trip planning, it also monitors traffic to show what the most rapid route is likely to be. It does this by monitoring, through satellite communications, the behavior of vehicles using this navigation system to determine areas of road congestion or other problems.

Adapting this system to railroads would be relatively easy. WAZE/Google could substitute a map of the rail network for the road network and show the appropriate speed limit on all stretches of track as well as switch positions. This would be used to warn engineers if they are operating in a dangerous manner. In the event that an engineer ignores this warning, the receiver in the locomotive could automatically apply the train’s brakes.

As with the highway system the positions and speeds all locomotives using the system, as determined using GPS, along with the positions of all switches in the system and the location of maintenance operations, could be sent through satellite to a central control where it would be monitored to determine the potential collision between trains.
There are roughly 27,000 locomotives, some thousands of additional train sets not pulled by locomotives, and 140,000 miles of track in the United States. The cost of installing equipment to send and receive signals, for navigation, and for computer-based automatic braking would be less than $5,000 per locomotive and per switch for a total less than three hundred million dollars. (The cost of a real-time navigation system, along with automatic braking is less than $1000 per motor vehicle.) Software for adapting the highway navigation system to PTC and establishing a central control to warn of collisions would cost less than $100 million. Thus, an estimate of well under a billion dollars for all of the PTC hardware and software to implement a new, navigation-based PTC system seems reasonable. This is considerably less than the cost of completing the current PTC systems and could be paid by a consortium of railroads. If the will were there, it should not take more than about a year to implement this new system.
A modern PTC could also become a basis for a more modern approach to railroad scheduling and management that could reduce costs and ensure more efficient use of the rail network. It could replace the current, antiquated, inefficient block system for regulating the use of rails. Because of industry competition and anti-trust considerations, it may require Congressional action to force national cooperation in establishing a unified 21st Century PTC system.
The current approach to railroad safety is out of date and makes little sense. It lacks a rational connection with the reality of how most people are killed and injured in connection with railroads and the availability of effective technology. It results in ridiculous spending on what, at least in terms of human losses, is a relatively minor problem.
PTC based on the technologies used for road navigation could substantially reduce human, equipment, and other losses from collisions and derailments. These savings would be sufficient to pay for the 21st century system based on the Google navigation system. It would also be an excellent business opportunity for WAZE/Google. The fact that billions have already been invested in PTC is irrelevant to the question of how the railroads should proceed with PTC. It must abandon the current wasteful development and start with a fresh approach as outlined herein.

Running out of fluel

Hello Waze team,
As a frequent Waze user, I would like to share a recurring road-safety issue that currently has no dedicated solution in the app.
Drivers sometimes get stranded specifically due to running out of fuel. This situation can be stressful and even dangerous, especially at night or on highways. While Waze helps locate nearby gas stations, it does not help once the driver is already unable to reach one.
Since Waze already knows:
the real-time location of drivers,
which drivers are about to pass the same area,
and the location of nearby fuel stations,
it could enable a fuel-specific assistance feature.
For example:
A stranded driver could request fuel assistance through Waze. Nearby drivers who are already passing a gas station could receive an alert and choose to help.
The fuel cost — plus an optional service fee — could be paid securely inside the Waze app.
This would allow:
fair compensation for the helping driver,
a small transaction or service fee for Waze,
no exchange of personal details between users,
and a safer, faster solution for fuel-related breakdowns.

crucial alerts should be more informative and different from normal ones

Please inform user about Vignette condition and effect on the routes (in Switzerland)!

I am an avid fan and frequent user of waze. literally anywhere and anytime I am planning a route I use waze, and I always suggest and inform people about its benefits. But Yesterday we had a very bad experience using it.
Our trip was from Vaduz to Grindelwald (Switzerland)
Waze always alarms about C- Zones, Toll roads at the beginning of choosing the route, ... and it did the same about vignette but the confusing thing is that it did not say that we have to select our type of pass from the list to avoid narrow and minor roads.
My assumption was that it is just an informative alarm like always, so as we already had our vignette pass we ignored it. but now am sure that the assumption of the app was that we do not have it so it should provide us with alternative routes. Which was much longer, minor roads and also country lanes( which barely 2 motorbikes could pass each other), extremely hazardous, especially in rain and fog condition, which very much endangered our lives. The level of stress we experience was very unnecessary as from yesterday till now we are dealing with the fear and we cannot enjoy the holiday we planned and paid for.

Add warnings for PCN camera traps (mainly London)

Like speed cameras, add PCN cameras (Moving Traffic Cameras) to Waze warnings please!!

Over lockdown there've been several strange changes made to how traffic is allowed to use certain roads in London.
Camera traps have sprung up all over the place to catch people out. These cameras give fines for using roads in ways which used to be totally acceptable before lockdown. Issuing £65+ fines for using a roads in what is suddenly the wrong direction, end to enter certain roads from, time of day, parking and so on.

None of these changes in these roads use have anything to do with public safety they're just out to make money.
I've been caught twice in the space of 2 weeks using roads which were always free, non restrictive, access a year ago. The signage is there but it's hard to break habits of a lifetime and from speaking to several Uber drivers who are on London's roads every day for a living I know the increase in these cameras in highly unusual places has had a massive impact on their income. They don't get paid a lot really and they don't get any kind of reduced fine just because they're drivers for a living.

I think Waze would see an even bigger uptake in popularity if these camera traps were highlighted on their maps.

Two examples are 'Manor Place Junction Braganza Street' in Southwark and 'Binfield Road' in Lambeth.

Dear Waze
I was a new user and since we live in the countryside, had not needed your app before today. But after trying for a while, (on your South African App), I simply could not design a travel route for my husband which included stops/petrolpoints.

You CAN write this off as an "ignorant new user", or you could listen to my problem.

I REALLY wanted to use your app and even downloaded it for my husband, but I simply could not figure out how to add stops to his route??? Eventually, I designed the route on Google Maps and shared it with him and myself via WhatsApp.

But EVEN Google Maps let me down - they are travelling from Heroldsbay to Kroonstad in South Africa, and for the life of me, I had to zoom in SO MUCH just to get restaurants/fuelstops...it was just stupid!

I would think that fuelstations/restaurants/rest stops would JUMP at the opportunity to advertise their place on Google Maps, yet, i was SORELY disappointed...

Even if someone paid £1/month for advertising, it's still something? Can't you just BLOW THEM OUT OF THE WATER with something like this???

I hope you can use my comment to improve your app, as I have ONLY heard fantastic things about it and it won't take much to be better than Maps at this point...

Please - remember I was A FIRST TIME USER. And that I could not figure out how to add stops on my Samsung Galaxy - if you DO have this feature available, please make it easier to find for first time users?

More features with a small payment
A lot of us rely on waze to move the most efficiently possible from one point to another. But Id love to be able to set specific things that currently aren't included in the waze app. If I needed to pay an annual symbolical fee to get personalized features, id be happy to pay it. Things like:
- avoid certain streets, avenues, or routes.
- tell waze exactly where im now!! it's really frustrating waze believes you are in certain road when you are in a parallel one (to a side, elevated or underground).
- guerrilla routes! Id love to tell waze, "I need to get there no matter what, in *** time! give me the route even though i need to take a little risk (a forbidden u turn, a small opposite direction to get to the street and avoid a big round or a lot of traffic), etc. Its my risk, its my decission, I just need the options.
- deep search... I believe the search of alternative routes in waze and in google maps, is kind of superficial... how can I know it? because when i take the route I already know, different than the options waze gives me, sometimes waze calculates or the similar ETA or maybe better ones! so with a deep search feature id love waze to give me lot more options so I can choose the best for me.

More exact gps. it goes along with the previous suggestion, sometimes you are not going through certain road but in a parallel one and waze doesn't know and you cant tell!!! frustrating!!! maybe if we pay a little, you could offer a more accurate gps location???

I know that the worst the traffic and people using the app, the more slower to refresh, thats my perception. Sometimes waze has registered a lot of traffic in certain moment but in real time (maybe 5-10 minutes of difference) it already has changed! In countless occasions I visually see the traffic waze wants me to avoid, is not there anymore. Maybe with the paid version it'll be more refreshed in real time.

Ability to increase font size.

Those of us who see distance fine but need reading glasses could use the abolity to increase street name and POI size. It's one if the reasons why I don't use Waze as often as I'd like to.

Optimized functionalities for motorbikes

It's too bad Waze doesn't offer any of these functionalities for riders/bikers:
- deactivate traffic jams in the time calculation (or consider we are at around 50 km/h on these parts of the path)
- proposing winding/twisting roads with different levels, just like Tomtom and Garmin already do with their devices
- allowing to create more than one step point to get the perfect itinerary
- allowing the load of external files (such as .gpx for example) to create roadbooks on our computer (with Google Maps or else) and then send it to our smartphone.

In brief, just a few things that would make Waze the perfect companion for motorcyclists, which is far from the case nowadays!

Privacy zone: stop reporting *near* home/work‏

Having read the Waze ideology of location reporting at journey endpoints with respect to privacy I have deemed it wanting greatly.

Please consider a feature to allow one to create flexible (arbitrarily variable) zones around one's home, workplace, church, etc, where upon entering one's position is no longer publicly visible.

I am confident a variation of this will mitigate privacy journey endpoint concerns

Trip summary

Can you add a trip summary button to show how long trip took. I enjoy that feature on my regular gps so I can see how long it took each day to get home from work for example.

Please note we're changing the status of this suggestion to Currently Not Planned, since we finalized our plans for 2024 and this idea won't be implemented this year.

Avoid a specific road

I've seen a number of posts regarding this, and myself have wanted this on various occasions for a number of different reasons. The alternatives (avoid highway, avoid toll, avoid dirt) are useful in many cases, but there are also many cases where they simply don't serve the actual need.

For example, this reddit post (https://www.reddit.com/r/waze/comments/6vfd6m/can_i_stop_waze_from_rerouting_or_select_a/) is from a user that wants to specifically avoid the Capital Beltway (I-495). Not because it's a highway, and not because of a perceived inability for Waze to determine traffic, but just as a personal preference. As another example, sometimes when driving through D.C. or Baltimore, I find myself wanting to avoid certain local roads at night time, specifically ones where the street lights are not working. There are many personal preference reasons one might have to want to avoid a specific road! And hearing things like "you can use this other option" is usually not helpful, because the asker of the question has already explored the menu and found those options!

There are a couple ways this could be presented to the user. In the settings menu, I could see a list of roads you want to avoid, and a button to add a road, which takes you to the map, possible with a search option. Maybe when navigating the map normally, one of the things a long-press gets you is the ability to mark a road to avoid. Maybe when you are presented with a list of directions, you can swipe away a turn to indicate you don't want to go onto that road, and you're then asked "this trip only / this and all future trips?"

This is getting long-winded. It suffices to say I've thought about this a lot and would like to see this feature. Thanks for reading.

Police on the move and what side

Police on the move: I would put an option on the police spotter that shows moving/same side or moving/other side of the road. The app can see what direction/side the motorist is on, it would be a simple change to show that the police are moving on your side or other.

Other Side Reporting

You used to have "Other Side of Road" for reporting. It was AWESOME and I used to report vehicles on the other side on the shoulder, and appreciated getting the notification about that. It's only available with the Police now; please bring that back. Why did you take it away?

This suggestion will not be implemented for the time being. Adding more and more options to reporting, especially for less popular types of reports such as other side which will also require another window/card, is not something we are aiming for at the moment. Please be aware that other side reporting is already available by voice using the Google Assistant! We believe investing in voice can create essentially a better and more scalable experience and we hope to bring it to more languages soon.

Speed limit

Please allow us to remove the digital speedometer, and instead show a much larger speed limit for the road! The current speed limit sign is very small on some displays, and since every car already has a speedometer, I would like the option to remove it from the app and just show a large icon for speed limit only

We plan to work on Android Automotive in the near future. In the meantime, make sure you’ve got the latest version of Waze for all the latest features.
Dash cam

Add dash cam features in background, auto record when car is moving, just enable feature and everything runs in background. Similar to app called witness. Record 10 segments, 6min each. Store date,time and GPS. Thought of this after learning that every car in Russia has a dash cam (all those meteor recordings).
