  1. Update algorithms for common sense

I travel to work on a 4 lane divided highway. Same car, same route, same phone, every day. I continually get that damned CHIRP as I'm driving 80 mph down the divided highway and it will recalculate, thinking I've somehow made a miraculous 90 degree turn to the right, at 80 mph, and it thinks it has to recalculate my route. 1) how about you put some common sense into your algorithms, that will figure "this vehicle has been on this highway for xx miles, it hasn't slowed down any...so it must not be turning onto the side street". 2)…

  2. Navigate to direction only works in parked gear

At the moment the only way you can select a place to navigate to is possible when you are in parked gear in your car. The moment your car is in movement, you are unable to choose the point to navigate to. This includes being stationary on red light when the car is in drive gear.

Comparing this to Google maps navigation where you can choose any of your recent addresses to navigate to and the only thing that is not available is using the keyboard.

I understand the safety aspect of selecting the places to drive to when in…

  3. Add Support for Mopeds, Bicycles & Moped Speed Checks (Known as Rollerbanks)

I suggest adding support for mopeds and bicycles as selectable vehicle types in Waze, allowing users to receive more accurate routes tailored to bike lanes and moped-accessible roads. Additionally, introducing a report option for roadside speed checks specific to mopeds (commonly known as "rollerbanks" in some regions) would greatly benefit two-wheeler users by improving route awareness and promoting fair, transparent traffic monitoring.

  4. Avoid Thomas Hill Rd, Madison, IN 47250

We have semi tractor trailer traffic that comes from North and East that is directed from the main highways to take Thomas Hill Rd. This is not a semi tractor trailer safe road. It is one lane, windy, and no guard rails with many sharp turns. They get stuck and have to be towed back out. This causes degradation of the road at a higher rate than normal erosion, it is very unsafe, uses county resources to remove them, etc. THey are trying to get to the power plant that is at the bottom of this hill. A regular…

  5. Useless information

    Dear on duty!
I drive a lot to work and back. Hours each day. Mostly, I use the app to foresee road blocks so I could re-route through back roads that even Waze doesn't know about.
But I get a lot of useless notifications like "left lane blocked" or "fog". These notifications are pointing out the obvious. You wasted time programming, I wasted time reading it. This morning the app told me "bad weather"! This flipped my lid off. Like what? I'll explain.
How do you measure good or bad? Bad for who? It's latitude 59, it's December. I'd say…

  6. Add an EASY to access button for road closures, this may be in the case of an accident or dangerous situations like robberies

Add an EASY to access button for road closures, this may be in the case of an accident or dangerous situations like robberies, violent protests, dangerous hazards on the road, roads fallen in/sunk. This is critical as an alternative rout needs to be calculated ASAP especially in a dangerous situation.

  7. Snow removal equipment

I was in Maryland during the recent blizzard. I was able to make the return drive to Pittsburgh on Monday. The roads where clear, however road crews were doing snow removal on the shoulders, left and right. I found during my drive the crews were often on turns and had I had no warning to be able to change lanes for safe distance.

That's when I thought of a SNOW PLOW notification. It would include a left or right choice and on road or shoulder choice. Moving or stationary would be a choice too, but might be a bit…

  8. Commercial Trucking

It’s 2024 and many truck drivers are you biggest users. There are other apps but none have the community base, live updates, live events, updated closures. It’s time that truckers get the best of the best of driving apps. Garmin navigation is the biggest but are rarely updated and do not have LIVE updates. It’s time that you add trucking to your menu and all the restrictions because Waze has better updates than all apps. Maybe acquire another app and make it happen. It’s 2024 and us truckers are your biggest users and we are tired of depending on…

  9. Being able to report closed roads when you are not at it

We need to be able to report closed roads when we are not staring at it or driving. I hate that I can only report closures when I'm there. If I know the road is closed I should be able to report that from a safe place or after the drive. I get that it needs to be verified, but it seems like we should be able to do that by linking state/county reports.

Thank you for your suggestion! As you may know, Waze offers HOV routing for taxis. To change your vehicle type go to Settings > Vehicle type. There are currently no plans to add more HOV options.

  11. LitterGram Car Mode

LitterGram is a popular app in the UK and is quickly becoming the new way for 40m smartphone users to report litter to councils so they can clean it up. We are about to trial LitterGram car mode which will allow drivers to hit a button on their steering wheel whilst driving and map the littered roads/highways/lanes. Britain is the 3rd most littered nation globally and has a serious problem. This new feature will help clean up our highways and make driving in our country a better experience for the motorist. It would be great to see if…

Subject: Suggestion for Faster Incident Reporting on the Main Map
    Hello,
I would like to submit a suggestion regarding the usability and safety of the Waze app.
I believe it would be very useful if, on the main map screen while following a chosen route, users could configure, for example, their 3 favorite incident reports. These could be displayed vertically, from top to bottom, next to the speedometer icon.
    For example:
    Mobile Police
    Car on shoulder
    Right lane blocked
This feature would allow drivers to mark relevant incidents more quickly and safely. Currently, the list of options is quite long,…

  13. Hi, we love using the Waze app for travelling where ever we are. However it would be great if there was a setting for avoiding minor roads

Hi, we love using the Waze app for travelling where ever we are.

However it would be great if there was a setting for avoiding minor roads or entering the size of vehicle. We occasionally tow a 7.5m caravan and last week when Waze re directed us due to heavy traffic we found ourselves in very narrow lanes with the caravan in tow - very stressful. A warning stating route unsuitable for large vehicles might even suffice?

Please can you consider this as an update.

    Many thanks

  14. Waze directions are given too late

I have recently moved to Melbourne Australia. Every road, every intersection, every turn is new to me. I've been an avid Waze user for many years, but I cannot use it anymore. Every directional instruction is 1-3 seconds too late. I have never encountered this problem, because I only used the alert voice setting since I knew my daily drive and area very well.

    A few examples:
    1) When approaching an intersection while in the middle of a 5 lane road, the direction to turn right is only given once the lane turn-offs begin.
    2) When in a residential area…

  16. Urgent Proposal: Integrate E-Bike and Scooter Riders into the Waze Map for Driver and Rider Safety

    The Immediate Safety Need
I am urgently requesting that you integrate electric bicycle and scooter riders into the Waze traffic map. I believe the primary need is not just navigation for the riders themselves, but to increase the visibility of these vehicles in the eyes of the car drivers who use the application.
I see that Light Electric Vehicles (LEVs) – e-scooters and e-bikes – have become an integral part of urban and intercity traffic. They travel on the edge of roads, in bus lanes, and on bike paths close to driving lanes, and they pose a significant…

  17. AI traffic flow

ArTi (AI Real Time Interface) Pitch for Waze Integration

    Date: September 12, 2025

    Contact: Jon Covey, 208-755-4289, jmcovey65@gmail.com

    The Problem

Road rage and unclear driver intent contribute to 80% of traffic incidents, per NHTSA data. Current navigation apps, even with real-time alerts, lack a personal, visible signal to communicate compliance, leaving drivers guessing about each other’s behavior—especially in dense or mixed-traffic conditions.

    The Solution: ArTi

ArTi is an innovative AI-driven traffic management system that enhances driver awareness and safety through real-time, color-coded feedback:

    - Green: Following traffic rules (e.g., speed, lane discipline).

    - Yellow: Minor deviations (e.g., slight over-speed, lane

  18. Speed indicator

When the phone is in landscape mode, the speed indicator can be sometimes hidden by the lanes indicator when it pops up.
Is it possible to put the speed indicator on the foreground or move it when it is hidden under another object?
    Thank you

  19. Color code car icon by distance

When Waze zooms in & out, the car icon stays the same size. Why not color code the car icon, green for when you are far away, yellow when you are close & need to change lanes for a turn/exit, red when you are within a quarter mile.

  20. Car stopped ON road ie: transport unloading new cars

In Ontario we have frequent stopped vehicles in the centre turning lanes of roadways. They stop to unload new vehicles for car dealerships. Would like an option to report car/vehicle stopped ON the roadway, separate from the “car on shoulder” option
