Allow users to map locations of police automatic license plate readers and select routes that avoids them.
The Flock automatic license plate readers are now in over 2500 cities in the United States and track 1 billion vehicles per month per their website. Plate Number also be encoded on Waze
CAR plate number should be encoded in waze, then waze will tell you which roads to avoid. Given the no coding scheme and the odd even scheme

Add Appa as a car icon
Similar to the Halo vehicles, there should be an option for the car icon to be Appa from Avatar the Last Air Bender. Please add this, my girlfriend has been begging

Place report in different place than current location
I wish to have an option to report police on the road but I want to set the point (like few kilometers behind not where I am currently). In my country there are radars on the road, installed in civil cars, but the police stop you after 4-5 km later. Even the other participants report the police there is not helpful because you already was registered by radar.
So, an option to mark it later will help the other people to avoid that radar.

someone died today and i could have saved them with waze if waze had a very simple adjustment
Dear Waze, i am a student driver, today i was on the highway and Waze alerted me that a car was on the side of the road. I saw it but i also saw that the notifcation only said the car was on the side of the road, and also asked to confirm if it was still there ..... I looked at the car, but i was too focussed on driving straight because im still learning, to really look at the car, i was doubting if i should stop to see if i could help, thousands of cars were passing…

switch car types in iOS
Hi, I’m using Waze both with my private car and with my motorcycle.
In Israel, the vehicle type actually affects the routing itself (motorcycles can legally use different lanes and routes), so switching quickly is very important.
Right now, every time I want to switch the vehicle type, I need to go deep into the Settings → Navigation menu, and it takes multiple taps.Is it possible to add a faster way to switch vehicle type?
For example:
• a quick toggle button on the main screen
• a Siri Shortcut / Shortcuts action

Feature to Avoid Specific Road
I really do love Waze! You guys are great! But can you PLEASE add an option to avoid specific roads (or steps of a route)? There’s a route that Waze directs me on my commute daily, both ways, that includes 2 roads that are extremely dangerous. I don’t mean difficult intersections or something like that. I mean regularly reported gun violence, car jackings at stop signs/lights, and gang activity. I literally had this map editing option back in the days of printing out mapquest directions… any kind of option would be wonderful! Thank you!

Disable Bluetooth usage in app. I use Bluetooth as a care phone, but listen to the radio.
I use the Bluetooth for car phone use, but listen to the radio. Because you can't turn off Bluetooth use in waze, it runs silent because it's trying to alert you by Bluetooth.. a setting for Bluetooth use within the app would be helpful..

Speed ceiling, the ultimate economical & ecological function !!
Allowing us to set a speed limit / ceiling in the preferences (for example 80km/h), then Waze calculates automatically straighter, shorter roads with lower speed limits because it knows we ride slower and so we won't go at full speed on highways. It will also give a correct ETA. For typically one hour more than a 4 hour trip on highway road, we can have less kilometers to run, a way better fuel consumption because of the lower speed, and prettier roads with less traffic !!! Perfect for old cars, or small motorcycles !! We need this so much…

Add a way to put Waze to sleep in Apple CarPlay
If I navigate with Waze in Apple CarPlay, it stays open on my phone and drains my battery unless I remember to go on my phone when I get out of my car and put Waze to sleep. Then the next time I get in my car, Waze starts up even if I don't use navigation and stays on on my phone when I get out of the car, again draining my phone battery. And if while in the car, I put Waze to sleep on my phone or quit the app, it immediately starts up again. This is a…

The map should be able to display on the phone, even if CarPlay is active
Please can there be the option of keeping navigation running on the phone screen, even if CarPlay is enabled. CarPlay Display Units are often down low (where car radios used to be), and looking at that as your satnav is dangerous and distracting. Keeping the map on the phone will enable safer driving and a happier Apple and Waze customer base

Unblock phone sleeping when idle or parking - to preserve battery
It happened to me several times and I find it very annoying.
When I park the car waiting for someone out if I leave phone in the car when I reach my destination and I forget to turn it off, Waze will prevent the screen from turning off and will drain out my battery quickly.
My suggestion is that I'd Waze detects that I'm parking or not driving for over a minute or so, it should automatically suspend the navigation activity and enable screen shutdown and sleep until user starts driving again.5 votes -
Predictive Traffic Light Data
I have an idea that will revolutionize navigation in cities and significantly benefit Waze users - predictive traffic light data.
By leveraging real-time GPS data from our massive user base, our app can start predicting traffic light patterns at intersections. Using algorithms to analyze when cars stop and start at lights, we can gradually build models mapping out sequences and wait times for traffic signals across entire cities.
This would enable sending users notifications in advance whether they are likely to hit the next green or red light. They can adjust speed accordingly, eliminating unnecessary braking and idling. The benefits…

Show search results on map
Waze search results are objectively inferior both in app and on android auto/carplay as compared to other popular navigation apps such as gmaps or apple maps.
Both of those apps display search results on a map view, with A, B, C etc pins with a selectable list on the side, and this works in app and on the in car head unit display. Google Maps also has a MUCH cleaner "add a stop" workflow.
This is a critical and basic feature gap that makes competing map applications much easier to use for searching18 votes -
Speed alerts relevant to the vehicle driven
Hi could you make it possible to have a option to choose a van as a vehicle option? By selecting the vehicle as a car when driving a van makes the speed limit alerts incorrect. Thanks

fewer touches to get navigation started
it seems to take a lot of clicks (er, touches) to get navigation started.
1) Enter (or speak) address
2) Choose from list of addresses (even if there's only one address)
3) Touch GO
4) Touch GO (again, can be skipped)tough to do if the car is already in motion. Or so I hear. I would never be mucking with my phone or tablet while in motion.

Android auto - car head unit layout
I think the app layout when on the car head unit display should be split. (It has already been suggested in a post about low resolutions)
- A split display could make it a lot clearer, since with the current floating turn directions/menu, the map is partially hidden when your route takes you left (since the car icon doesn't have enough horizontal offset)
- A delimited box for the map could enhance its visibility.
- The instructions pane could take the whole height of the display and thus use larger fonts/icons or provide better overall readability2 votes -
Collaborative Routing
Waze works like the most other Navigation Apps. You can choose between 1 and 3 different fixed routes, that sometimes slightly change when there is a lot of traffic ahead. The problem is, that Waze works like a broadcast as far as I know.
So when Route 1 have heavy traffic, all other users get Route 2 to avoid traffic. The problem here is, that new heavy traffic will be created to avoid the first.
All cars following the same alternative route.
