1. Niles Canyon Advisory for Friday Outbound from Fremont

   FYI...If your app considers Niles Canyon an alternate route out of Fremont on Friday Afternoons - Fahgedaboudit! the backup starts at 2:30 pm and by 3:30 pm it's a nightmare. I drive through Niles canyon as part of my commute. On Fridays, I've noticed that the backup for cars wanting to turn right from Mission Blvd into the canyon is quite extreme to the point that cars are using 2 lanes to make the right turn in. This is adding to the slowdown in the canyon itself and at times the intersection gets blocked and cars want to turn left into the canyon as well as cars wanting to cross from Niles blvd are unable to go anywhere. This also has an impact on the cars trying to turn left to exit the canyon. Best advise is to stay away.

2. Go back a couple of updates!

   Please take the current version of Waze back a couple of updates! You've taken a stable, easy to use, reliable, "real time" app that was bug free and a joy to use and replaced it with a slower, inconsistent and definitely not "real time" inferior version. The old adage is "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". My old Waze was quick to load, updated traffic conditions and changes quickly, often giving me notice of problems ahead before I reached them. The latest version is slow to load, gets stuck on the "Around you" page, which I don't use and don't want, now advises me of traffic jams and hold ups 5 minutes after I've got stuck in them and keeps trying divert me to an alternative route because of "road closures" when I'm actually driving down the road that is supposed to be closed. Please give us back our "old" Waze - it worked perfectly so why try and fix it???

3. Motorcycle mode.

   As part of the list of requests for "Motorcycle Mode", I'd also like to ask that you add the following feature, something that has literally saved my life. Highlight "Objects on the road" hazards as a high level warning. By that I mean, maybe flash the danger on the UI, and have a different voice over warning. Normally warnings are "Vehicle on side of road". Those aren't a huge hazard, but objects on the road like a blown tire, metal flashing ..etc, are huge dangers for riders.

   A great update to this would also be notifying other drivers that a motorcyclist is approaching. We have very limited visibility on the road, it would be great if users in cars would be notified that a motorcycle is near them, or even better, splitting lanes.

   Thank you for your suggestion! As you may know, Waze already has Motorcycle Mode included in the app. To change your vehicle type, tap Settings > Car Details > Vehicle type.

4. I have several ideas

   First I have been through 2 permanent speed cameras Waze did not warn me about. Although it might say turn in 300 metres, I have no conception of distance and if a few streets are close I don’t know which one and It needs to tell you to turn here about 2 secs earlier then it does I miss streets and need to be in other lanes to turn esp. in the city where there are lots of one way streets and turn only lanes. I’m on iPhone and I hate that it turns off Siri google DOES NOT work on iPhone. It needs to let Apple use Siri. It tells me I’m at the location houses away. It needs to tell you which side of the road it’s on and the number..”you have arrived at 6 bob st, you’re destination is on the left.” Or something when you get there.. I like that it reminds me a few times where I’m going and unlike G maps knows what my turnoff is called.its also louder so I can actually hear it, but I’m not sure it takes traffic into account and reroute around the worst of it.. it will put me in standstill traffic on s highway instead of taking back streets. I can’t plot several locations and decide myself what order to take I have to plot my route in the other app and put it in one by one but the only way I can use this app is if I also run the other app behind it so I have them both talking... to be honest both together are almost perfect but separately they both have issues... you need to be able to report permanent cameras and police etc via voice which may be possible on a google friendly phone, I’m not sure because I will get fined for touching my phone to report things... I don’t like that others can see my speed if I use that part of the app so I can watch my speed. Can authorities access that info ever??? Because I do speed sometimes and I don’t want others seeing or recording my speed...

5. ambulance alert by location

   With increased distractions in traffic, whether due to high driver concentration or the use of loud music, the approach of an ambulance responding to an emergency often goes unnoticed. In light of this, it would be extremely useful if Waze offered a feature capable of alerting drivers to the passage of an ambulance on a rescue mission. The proposal consists of a visually striking, flashing, full-screen alert that would only disappear after user confirmation via a button. This alert would be triggered by the ambulance crew themselves, through a specific and differentiated login, allowing the notification to be sent to vehicles ahead, on the same road and in the same direction of travel. This functionality would significantly contribute to opening up passage in locations where there are no dedicated emergency lanes or where, due to a lack of traffic education, drivers do not react appropriately to the approach of emergency vehicles — a common reality in many countries. In addition to saving time, this measure has the direct potential to save lives.

6. Electric Vehicle

   Hello Devs,

   I am currently in Ontario. I own an electric vehicle (with plate something like GVXX 123).
   In Ontario, as far as I am aware of, all HOV Lanes are eglible to use the HOV even if there's only the driver on the vehicle. I believe in British Colmbia it's the same.

   By default, even if I have my vehicle type set as "Electric", Waze still try to navigate me outside HOV/Avoid HOV all together.

   I understand everytime when I need to navigate to somewhere, the app will ask me "2+ People for HOV access". However in real life, whether I have 2+ people in the car, it would not matter the eglibity of my HOV access.

   My recommendation/suggestion is, when Vehicle type is set to "Electric", in some provinces/states, Allow HOV access without asking passenger count, and automatically recommending HOV usage if traffic condition allows (For instance, I am navigating from somewhere in Ontario to anywhere else in Ontario)

   This would help simplify navigation, and avoid confusion (eg, the app keep telling me to exit HOV and re-route me, which I am not sure it's due to traffic or what).

7. Safety Warning

   I’d like to address a serious safety concern regarding Angeles Crest Highway. This road is extremely dangerous due to its sharp turns, narrow lanes, and proximity to sheer mountain edges. Drivers are often faced with oncoming traffic and either the edge of the mountain or the rocky mountainside. It is, without a doubt, the most terrifying road I’ve ever traveled.

   Adding to the danger, there are no streetlights or cellphone reception. While it may appear as a shorter route compared to congested freeways, it is not safe and should include a clear warning when suggested as a route on Waze.

   I personally know of multiple instances where drivers have gone over the edge, been stranded for days, or required rescue by helicopter. For those unfamiliar with the area who are simply following GPS directions, it can be an extremely traumatic experience—some people have even broken down in tears while driving this road.

   Please consider implementing a prominent warning about the dangers of this route and provide an option to avoid it altogether. This could prevent accidents, reduce unnecessary distress, and ultimately save lives.

8. crucial alerts should be more informative and different from normal ones

   Please inform user about Vignette condition and effect on the routes (in Switzerland)!

   I am an avid fan and frequent user of waze. literally anywhere and anytime I am planning a route I use waze, and I always suggest and inform people about its benefits. But Yesterday we had a very bad experience using it.
   Our trip was from Vaduz to Grindelwald (Switzerland)
   Waze always alarms about C- Zones, Toll roads at the beginning of choosing the route, ... and it did the same about vignette but the confusing thing is that it did not say that we have to select our type of pass from the list to avoid narrow and minor roads.
   My assumption was that it is just an informative alarm like always, so as we already had our vignette pass we ignored it. but now am sure that the assumption of the app was that we do not have it so it should provide us with alternative routes. Which was much longer, minor roads and also country lanes( which barely 2 motorbikes could pass each other), extremely hazardous, especially in rain and fog condition, which very much endangered our lives. The level of stress we experience was very unnecessary as from yesterday till now we are dealing with the fear and we cannot enjoy the holiday we planned and paid for.

9. Why did Waze take me on a toll/HOV Road

   okay the people of Waze i live in Illinois and i think we have 3 or more tolls now i am in your ask a question category off my iPhone and i read that you guys don't have an option to enable or disable express landes or HOV lanes why is that? So when i go to Midway airport i see that there are 2 roads that lead to the tolls. Now my Question is when are you going to put that coin symbol on your app to let people know that they are taking a toll road because when i went to the airport on the 4th of July i tested you guys out and i had the toll category unlocked and it did not show me if i will be taking a toll road .so i am sorry to say but i had to use google map because they should me 2 roads with tolls and one with out. so i like your app but this is the only problem i have with it so please if you can when ever you upgrade your app please add that coin symbol to let other people know that you are heading to a toll booth because when i tested you guys out that symbol was not in the picture and i did have the toll thing unlocked

   Thank you for your suggestion! As you may know, Waze offers HOV routing for taxis. To change your vehicle type go to Settings > Vehicle type. There are currently no plans to add more HOV options.

    Temporary Speed Limits for Roadworks & Construction Zones
    This suggestion aims to enhance road safety and improve the accuracy of Waze navigation by implementing a feature that displays temporary speed limits in real-time. These are the limits indicated by the yellow or orange signs on portable stands often found in road repair and construction zones.
    Currently, Waze primarily relies on static, permanent speed limits for a given road segment. However, in areas with ongoing roadworks, the official speed limit is often temporarily reduced to ensure the safety of both drivers and road workers. Without this information being reflected in the app, Waze may still indicate the higher, permanent speed limit, which could lead to confusion and unsafe driving behavior.
    How it would work:
    Users could report a temporary speed limit change in a manner similar to reporting a road hazard or other alerts. A new category could be added to the reporting menu, such as "Temporary Speed Limit". The user would then be prompted to select the new, temporary speed limit and the length of the road segment affected.
    Benefits of this feature:
    • Increased Road Safety: By alerting drivers to lower speed limits in construction zones, Waze would help prevent accidents and protect the lives of both drivers and road workers. This is the primary and most critical benefit of this feature.

11. New hiden speed cameras in athens not shown on map

    TO: Google & Waze – Traffic and Maps Division
    SUBJECT: Missing speed/red light cameras in Athens & National Highway – Immediate risk for users

    Dear team,

    I’m a professional taxi driver who drives tens of thousands of kilometers every year in Athens and on the Athens–Lamia National Highway. I use Waze and Google Maps daily. However, the lack of updated data on new cameras has become a serious risk for your users.

    What’s happening:

    1. In Athens:

    Dozens of new traffic cameras have been installed on major roads (Kifisos Ave., Kifisias, Dyrrachiou, Moschato, Nea Filadelfia, etc.).

    These are white with black base, featuring a small glass window, supposedly for “traffic monitoring.”

    However, they are already issuing fines, e.g. a reversal violation at Panormou & Kifisias, confirmed by SMS within 3 hours, even though there’s only one visible camera there – a “monitoring” one.

    These do not appear in Waze or Google Maps as fixed or mobile cameras.

    1. On the Athens–Lamia National Road:

    At kilometer 250, there are new cameras that capture vehicles up to 2 km away. The limit there is just 80 km/h, a clear trap.

    They’ve installed cross-facing cameras on both directions to scan both lanes.

    Just before Kandriti tolls (coming toward Athens) there’s a digital info board with an integrated camera, tracking speed and taking photos.

    Our demand is simple:

    Update your maps immediately to include these active cameras, to protect your users.

    If there’s no local editor, assign one or send a professional to document them.

    I do not ask to become editor. I only care that drivers are fairly warned, as in every civilized country.

    If needed, I can provide photos and exact locations. This is not personal, it’s about transparency and public safety.

    And worse: Political deception

    In Greece, there’s a recurring pattern of public deception by the authorities.

    The Ministry claims that “cameras will be used only for red lights” or “will activate from November 1st” – yet they’re already issuing full fines for all violations.

    This was proven by a reversal fine confirmed by text message, from a spot where only a traffic-monitoring camera exists.

    In other words, citizens are deliberately misled and ambushed, at a time when fines are economically devastating.

    Why this matters:

    Thousands of drivers receive fines unknowingly, without prior warning.

    Your apps, without updates, mislead rather than assist.

    The Greek government provides zero public signs or indications.

    The fine system is not income-adjusted – rich and poor pay the same. Totally unfair.

    If you truly respect your users, act now. Otherwise, your platform becomes part of a nationwide trap.
