Big "stop Waze" button
Sometimes (often) you just want to stop and close Waze. But you have to go through menus, which is DANGEROUS while driving. There should be a big readily-visible X on the main navigation screen. Or alternatively, a big readily-visible MUTE button.

Increase the menu arrow on Android Auto
When using Waze on Android Auto, the arrow to the menu "Routes, Stop, Search Sound" should be bigger; it's too tiny for us to be sure that is already selected (without having a touchscreen unit) during the day, especially bright ones, during the drive.

Waze based stand alone GPS unit
My cell phone is WAY too distracting to me. I know I should leave it set to waze only, but all the notifications distract me. I really need a stand alone unit that only does Waze so that I can leave my phone in the back and not touch it while I am driving. It looks like Garmin has traffic updates, but I would rather have Waze.

Add “Avoid Width Restrictions”
I’ve got a pretty big car and hate width restrictions when I’m driving through the rat race of London rushing to get to work.
If you can add “Avoid Width Restrictions” any road with a width restriction that would really help! Thanks !51 votesThanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

Have optional driving laws and safe driving test and make results viewable to nearby Wazers.
This will help improve safe driving as well as help Wazers make informed decisions about driving near/with other Wazers.

Apple CarPlay shortcut for reporting a hazard
To report a hazard (ie pothole) requires 4 clicks. Would be great if there was a few one click shortcuts to report the most common hazards such as a pothole, police, and vehicle stopped on side of road. This would be much safer than fumbling around to report a pothole while driving.

keep the Ghostbusters theme
Vote here to keep the Ghostbusters theme. Having Ecto1 as a car option with Ray's (Dan Aykroyd) voice is an amazing driving experience we all have enjoyed. One of the reasons many users even switched to Waze was just for this option. Let make it permanent for the true fans and all others to enjoy!

Track my car's vitals; build database for community benefits
This is a big idea, no small undertaking I know. I'd like to combine my GPS app with the functionality of an app like Gas Cubby, which tracks my MPG at every fill-up and alerts me when my car is due for maintenance.
Here's how I envision it:
-I tell Waze what car I drive: ex: 2003 Saturn Vue, 6 cyl, automatic
-Every time I stop to fill up, I tell Was
a) What my current odometer reads (waze should know how many miles I've driven in theory, but this is a checksum validation in case I forgot…4 votes -
Show Accurate Distance to Exit Inside Roundabouts
Display the actual remaining distance to the correct exit while inside the roundabout. This would help drivers better anticipate when to exit, especially in larger or multi-exit roundabouts.
When driving a roundabout, the distance to the exit is always shown as “0 m” in the current navigation display. This can be misleading, as the driver has not yet reached the exit.
Knowing how far it is to the correct exit helps reduce confusion and allows for smoother lane changes and safer navigation. Showing “0 m” before reaching the exit does not reflect the real driving experience and can…

Automate road closure Report
It is difficult to report road closures in real time - especially on a freeway - because of the approach speed and unexpected driving adjustment. If Waze inquired why I missed a turn/off-on ramp it would be helpful. This is similar to when Waze asks "you slowed down - are you in traffic?" If Waze notices that I missed a turn/off-on ramp it should ask "you missed a turn- was there a road closure ?" This way I can report later ( give me 60 secs) when safe. If I just missed the turn because I was distracted or chose…

Announcements depending on speed
I recommend that Waze adjust the "trigger distance" for pre-alerts when traveling quickly.
For example, currently Waze pre-alerts "In one-tenth of a mile ..." regardless of speed.
If you are driving 60 MPH, you cover the one-tenth of a mile in a mere 6-seconds ... by that time, Waze is already alerting you (AGAIN) that it's time to make the turn.
I'm all for voice alerts ... but when the app gabs for 10-seconds straight because of back-to-back announcements, eh....

JEREMY CLARKSON
A Modest Proposal: Jeremy Clarkson for Waze Voice Navigation
Dear Waze Team,
Let’s cut to the chase — Waze is brilliant. But you know what would make it truly exceptional?
Jeremy Clarkson.
Not just as a voice. As a driving philosophy. Imagine:
“Turn left... or don’t. I’m not your mother.”
“Traffic ahead. Caused, presumably, by a Prius.”
“You've arrived. It's no racetrack, but it'll do.”
"In 200 meters Turn left-- unless you drive a beige Volvo. In which case, please stay home"
Clarkson is the voice of speed, sarcasm, and barely-contained road rage — everything a morning commute needs. Give…6 votes -
Option to automatically disable WiFi
When transitioning from WiFi to 3G or vice versa, Waze often loses a connection and becomes useless, requiring us to restart the app. I imagine this would be a problem for anyone who drives by a wireless network that they use often (home, work, school, etc.) This could be avoided by giving the user the option to automatically disable WiFi connections within Waze. This option would prevent users from having to disable WiFi before starting Waze every time.

Why can we no longer use waze on 2 devices simultaneously
Wished Waze had made that info about this change ( ie being unable to use waze simultaneously on 2 devices) available to users upfront. That’s a big change & I wasted a lot of time on a very long drive to try & get waze to work the way I’ve come to expect.
I have waze open on two devices ( iPhone & iPad) that have different cellular carriers, whenever I go on longer drives (2 hrs or more) since waze’s network connections are always spotty. This has been my work around & provides continuous coverage & also allows…5 votes -
New front screen warning
Hi all. I think we need a new front screen, just after you type your destination. This new screen will give you traffic info and route options like Google Maps does and more. Like and advanced warning before your drive starts. Otherwise you can just think, why has this diverted me? Then not bother and carry on ignoring the re route.

Modify Waze CarPlay
Waze in CarPlay does not correctly visualize the routes to choose them, it does not correctly show the distance, nor does it show the costs of tolls or highways, that information should be available on the CarPlay screen, since according to current laws you cannot take your cell phone while driving.

Hi. The new version is bad
Old was better. Please change so we can see all warnings for accident. Police. Roadwork. And so on. Always and not only when we have navigation activated. Wanna see it all in 1 place as before. Many drive with app open without navigation activated. And if we only can see on navigation road. We miss important Info. And if it is like now only showed on navigation road...then we also miss it if we make a quick detour . This is not good. Take old system back. WHY DID YOU CHANGE IT ? And…4 votes -
GPX Tracking option
Dear,
I would like to see a possibility to track an unplanned, random route that I drive live so that it can be loaded into Waze and navigated afterwards by myself or someone else, with whom I can then share the route.
Thanks in advance,

Simon Cowel
I deeply believe that Simon Cowel should be a voice on your app. This would give that users a new way to drive instead of a random man telling you where to go you could have Simon Cowel do it! Please consider! Thank you.

Use Go later for far away places
I often use the “go later” feature to plan drive times when I travel. Unfortunately it doesn’t work when the place is far away. For example, if I am currently in the US but traveling to the UK next week and I want to know how long it will take to drive from my hotel in London to Heathrow airport on a Thursday morning.
I search for Heathrow and then click “go later” but before I can change the starting location as my hotel, it throws an error message because it tries to calculate the route from where I am…
