1. Visualize BEST TIME TO LEAVE for a given destination (red to green). Save time if you know the peaks.

   Problem
   You know where to go, but want to know what would be the best time to leave to avoid peak traffic.
   At the moment you a ETA, which is nice to know but doesn't help you to plan.

   Idea
   You plan a route, get an ETA and a option to choose the best time for leaving. Could be a color coded (green to red) 24h hour-by-hour "forecast" of expected travel time (graph or simple list). This could include current traffic situation for the next few hours, averages for the rest. Also the next 2 hours could be split into let's say quarters of an hour. Sometimes being 15 minutes late can result in being stuck in rush hour. It could calculate minutes/percentages you could save or you could spend in traffic.

   Benefit
   - Wazers can save on travel time by choose their ideal time to leave.
   - Other Wazers benefit from distribution of traffic over time - reduce the peaks, facilitate low traffic.
   - @Waze: You want to save 5 minutes per Wazer each day by providing the best route. Save them another 5 minutes by enabling them to choose the perfect time to leave.

   What do you think? Any other ideas?

2. Add option to make restrictions visible similar to closures

   This goes together with a suggestion on the WME side to add a check box in WME.

   Since there is no easy way to add closures based on a schedule, there are times it would be nice to have restrictions that can be scheduled show in the app similar to a closure. That way someone driving without a route will have the visual cue like a closure.

3. Distância do alerta da praça de pedágio

   Atualmente, o Waze alerta a existência de pedágio à frente cerca de 400 metros antes das cancelas, quando a praça de pedágio já está plenamente visível pelo para-brisa.

   Sugiro que o alerta seja dado 2 km antes da Praça de Pedágio, para que ele tenha mais uso, como preparar o pagamento, alterar a velocidade, utilizar outro caminho etc.

4. Cantonese

   Hi, I am a Cantonese user and I was wondering if it might be possible to introduce more Cantonese voice options for navigation.

   I really enjoy using the app, but listening to the same Cantonese voice repeatedly can feel a little monotonous at times. Having more voice variety would be greatly appreciated.

   I understand that Cantonese users may account for less than 1% of all users, but I still hope more options can be considered in the future.

5. Evacuation zones

   I know these currently exist via Champs/Coordinators, this is a suggestion on how these work.

   We in NC have had a big issue with DOT not knowing every closed road and considered almost half the state as closed. NC leadership worked with champs and coordinators to get an evacuation zone set up. However, we noticed that routing through this zone was still enabled. Based on this here is 2 suggestions we came up with.

   1 - Route Around - This suggestion is to restrict travel from outside the zone to outside the zone through the zone completely. This is the preferable option as it will keep users from entering possibly dangerous areas and also keep users from impeding emergency responders. Doing this could also reduce Waze's liability for routing users into hazardous areas that Waze would have knowledge of but the user may not.

   2 - Message - This suggestion comes from the routing inside of the evacuation zone as this will display a message regarding this destination is in an evacuation zone and give an option for another destination. What we are suggesting is to use something similar for routing through the evacuation. I suggest "This routes through an Evacuation Zone" then details and give an option for other routes.

6. Kung Fu panda as voice guide

   Po's words of wisdom was removed from recent waze updates. Pls put it back as it really lightens up my days during daily traffics.

   Also, if possible, to have Master Shifu or Master Oogway as voice guides in future updates.

7. Better navigation - height width weight

   Please add three values to segments, maxHeight, maxWidth, maxWeight. All segments should default to 0.

   Please add user settings of maxHeight, maxWidth, maxWeight. They should default to 0. The label should direct the user to enter their height/width in metres and weight in tonnes.

   When reviewing a navigation route, check if there is a value of maxHeight, maxWidth, maxWeight exceeding 0. If there is a value, cross-check the users maxHeight, maxWidth, maxWeight is lower.

   If the users value is higher than the segment value, disregard that segment as a navigation option.

   This would help users of a wide range of vehicles, from large SUVs to vans to trucks to buses to help them not receive navigation along routes with low bridges, forced height restrictions, narrow roads, forced width restrictions, weak bridges, no truck zones... it would even be possible for a driver of a nervous disposition to avoid that low bridge that makes them feel uneasy, or poor quality drivers avoid the width restrictions they may not be able to navigate well.

   At this moment, such drivers get routes that they cannot or will not take, and deters the usefulness of the routes suggested by Waze. By having this option, users have the choice of not being navigated along roads that don't meet their requirements.

   There are a LOT of similar requests on uservoice, but none have progressed to consideration of being included which appears to be a major missed opportunity, particularly since a lot of users are delivery drivers in vans, families in RVs, large SUV drivers, all of which are being provided with inappropriate navigation suggestions.

8. Send Pot hole data to government for repair work automatically.

   Standardize pot hole reporting to the government by automatically sending the data from Waze to the proper agency's so they can plan and repair the areas that will have the biggest impact.

9. Enable speed and associated icons to be placed on the left or the right side of the navigation screen at drivers discretion

   Currently speed icons only display on right side of navigation screen. I drive a right hand drive car and speed icons are obscured by steering wheel and indicator stalks. It would be nice to have option to display the icons on the left or the right side of navigation screen at driver's discretion to facilitate clearer display depending on car navigation screen installed position.

10. Please give the ability to turn off the "carpool" button

    The carpool button is the bane of my Waze existence. Whenever I pick up my phone from the little pocket area in the car and Waze is running, it triggers this "carpool" button. Then it takes both hands to swipe from the far left side of the screen to make it go away. I won't ever use the carpool function and would love to be able to hide it and stop this from happening. I know it sounds trivial, but it's maddening to deal with.

11. Improve prompts for U-turn

    Currently when Waze gives a U-turn instruction the voice prompt is "Make a U-turn ON [name of street you are on]. The problem with this is everyone knows that a U-turn is "ON" the street you are on. However, the driver does not know WHERE to make the U-turn. Map editors routinely see Update Requests where the driver was given a U-turn instruction and thought the turn was at a different intersection than where Waze was instructing them to make the U-turn.

    What would actually help the driver is if Waze informed the driver WHERE to make the U-turn. The instruction should be
    Make a U-turn AT [cross street]
    If no cross street name is available then a simple instruction "Make a U-turn" would be sufficient.

13. Inclusive maps for color-blind people

    I've been thinking of a problem Waze might find not that difficult to solve. Congestion leves are represented by different shades of colors, mainly yellows and reds. But lots of people around the world are color blind at some level, so the congestion colors are useless for them. I am suggesting that instead of simply using the plain shades of the colors, Waze star using hatched colors. This might be really helpful to a lot of people. Besides, this would help build an inclusive culture and policy.

14. CarPlay update

    Waze is super useful in car over my cellphone (iPhone)
    However, once plugged into my car with CarPlay, the experience is worst that ever. In fact, the CarPlay interface of the app does not support all functions offered in the mobile version such as :
    1. Unable to signify a fixed radar photo
    2. Unable to specify the police specification (visible, hide, opposite side)
    3. Unable to launch a SOS and so on
    In fact, the types of available notices is so small.

    In addition, you can’t find a gas station easily as in the app cause you don’t have any shortcuts options even after pressing on the search button in the upper part of the screen.

    Waze should update their CarPlay Experience ASAP by replicating the interface in the phone on CarPlay, so, by adding more options, adding shortcuts (gas, parking, etc) and by adding a new feature to find the cheapest gas station on our way to our final destination.

    Some homeless agencies ask for homeless sightings so they can check on their well fare.

    Request is to add a Homeless Button, so users can report sightings, and ability for an organization to filter map and monitor for 'homeless'.

16. Alert for run-down animals

    English: We members of a robotics team created a new Waze alert. Imagine how much will be feasible alert when someone saw or trampled an animal? Usually the people don’t know what do when they trample an animal, if the Waze has this option the rescue of these animals will be easier of be accomplished and the animals will not die for staying for a long time waiting to they be ransomed.
    Will have an animal run-off alert (just as they already exist the camera alerts, per example) when the user to click on this alert he will notify if the animal is wild, domestic or if he could not identify, and if is a large or small animal.
    As in accidents the user also will be able to take a picture or comment something. The environmental police and the fire department (that are the organs that rescue the animals run down) will use the live map, which is already a resource available in the website, to do the rescues.

    Portuguese: Nós integrantes de uma equipe de robótica criamos um novo alerta para o Waze. Imagina o quão será viável alertar quando alguém visse ou atropelasse um animal? Geralmente as pessoas não sabem o que fazer quando atropelam um animal, se o Waze tiver esta opção o resgate destes animais será mais fácil de ser realizado e os animais não morrerão por ficar muito tempo esperando para serem resgatados.
    Haverá um alerta de atropelamento de animal (assim como já existe os de radares, por exemplo) quando o usuário clicar neste alerta ele notificará se o animal é silvestre, doméstico ou se não conseguiu identificar, e se o animal é de grande ou pequeno porte. Assim como em acidentes o usuário também poderá tirar foto ou comentar algo. A polícia ambiental e o corpo de bombeiros (que são os órgãos que resgatam os animais atropelados) utilizarão o mapa ao vivo que já é um recurso disponível no site, para fazer os resgates.

17. important traffic signs on waze map

    in order to increase the safety of wasers and other traffic participants, what do you say if on the waze map will be the important traffic signs like: priority road, give way, stop, no stopping, no entry, one way, pedestrian crossing, level crossing; there are a lot of hiden signs by buildings, vegetation or by other reason those important signs are not seen and this goes to traffic events and it can be avoided if waze drivers are warned by their devices (if voice is activated)

18. Awards for People for Driving the Speed Limit

    Many people drive above the speed limit and we've all got a speeding ticket at one time, but wouldn't it be cool to get rewarded when we do drive at or near the speed limit? Maybe waze can create a feature to award points based on how much time or mileage that we are compliant to the posted speed limit. And maybe even leverage companies like Starbucks to award good drivers with a coffee! It is especially critical that drivers obey the limit on residential streets, and maybe this could motivate and educate drivers to do so!!

19. Pay for Parking based on location/zone

    Waze knows where I park and it would be really cool if I could just enter my credit card data and rely on Waze for automatic payment.

    Maybe also navigate me to the best value parking lot and open the barrier for me :)

20. Length of delay before setting off

    It would be useful to have the length of delays displayed before setting off.

    Currently Waze gives you an ETA and time to destination - e.g. 1:30hrs but doesn't indicate whether this is 1:30hrs of free flowing traffic (optimised route) or whether it is going to take 1:30hrs because you are going to be sat in 20mins of traffic. It could display next to the ETA the time you are going to be in delay e.g. ETA 1:30hrs +20mins delay (maybe in red?).
