Electrical Map in Puerto Rico will attract millions users
Adding and Electrical Map, will give Waze a millions of users!
Since Hurricane Maria, hundreds of roads and bridges where destroyed, signs that does not exist anymore, and roads with a mile of holes. Lately it is so dificult to drive on some roads. Specially those without electricuty jet, 7 month later of hurricane Maria.
Letting people tag place without electricity, not only give the driver the alert, but will atract a thousand, even million ppl in the island, to repport their house or street.
Also with a so worldwide use app, will make pressure on local agencies to accelerate…7 votesAdminElla (Waze Team) (Admin, Waze) responded

Record traffic warnings
How about the option to record our warnings? "There's a large piece of wood in the center lane." "There's an eighteen-wheeler on the right shoulder." "Everyone has to move to the left lane to go around construction."
Then, Waze would notify us - "Hazard reported one-half mile ahead - [playback recorded warning]."
Two things would be accomplished - the warning would be very specific, and it would require less attention diverted from driving.5 votes -
save lives: hijack hot spot and unsafe or damaged roads
DANGER HOT SPOTS
South Africa is riddled with crime and Waze can literally save hundreds of lives by allowing users to post hot sports at dangerous intersections. Simply being aware of a dangerous intersection will allow people to stop at that light with a safe escape distance. If the intersection gets safer somebody could post as not dangerous anymoreUNSAFE ROADS
Ive had numerous flat tyres from driving over a pothole. Imagine i could post a section of the road as damaged road. Id then be aware that i should be looking out for potholes. In the unlikely occasion that…8 votes -
Ability to Select HOV Routes in Carplay
Right now, when checking different routes, you cannot select an HOV route in Carplay (they just do not show up). You can still select it in the iOS app, but for some reason the Carplay app won't accept the route when you select it from the app. It requires you to select a route on the Carplay app (which doesn't include the HOV routes).
The only workaround I found is to set the HOV route before you connect to Carplay, but if you update the route during the trip, it loses the HOV route ability unless you disconnect Carplay while…

Give us a target speed in traffic jams to help Waze users optimize average throughput
I recently read this article: http://www.bbc.com/autos/story/20160428-how-ai-will-solve-traffic-part-one
It talks about how going slower and keeping more space between your car and other cars can actually improve the flow of traffic when it's all jammed up. It also explains how autonomous cars will make this work much better, but also indicates that we can help improve things now by changing our driving behavior.
The article also explains how the highway patrol sometimes sends cars through traffic jams on the highway to break it up and re-channelize it.
If the Waze app could give users a target speed based on traffic conditions, and…

Waze protect people on road
Hello my idea could safe people's life and make some extra profit for Waze.
Imagine you are cyclist, runner, wolker or group of cyclist with kids or etc.
You open Waze app choose ''protect mode'' option and select who you are. Then everyone who will driving on the same road will have an alert to slow down because you are ahead.I know that almost every new car has safety systems, but no one can see behind the corner.
Waze can sell and provide these live data to other companies like Volvo, Mercedes, Audi, BMW and they can implement them…

alerts without scrolling
The alert system is great, but when you're driving it would be easier to see all buttons on the same screen, with no need for scrolling. When you need to scroll the list to see all icons it makes you lose attention to the road.
Would it be too difficult to add all kind of alerts on the same window?6 votes -
Add a 1 mile event radius
In large cities 5 mile radius events take too long to cycle back to the close events. And 5 miles extremely far away from your driving route.

Add Option To Avoid NYC Congestion Pricing
I drive from NJ to Queens NY and want to avoid the new congestion charge. Would like to see route options that avoid the new congestion road tax.

I would really like to be able to edit and add favorites via the website interface. This would possibly cut down on drivers searching and typeing while driving.

Lock the route
Once WAZE sets the initial route, let me press a button to lock the directions so they don't change while I'm en route. Often if I'm driving on a freeway (in LA) I will get random instructions to "make a U-turn (on the 405?)" or to turn on some surface street. I assume its because the app is re-calculating as I go or doesn't recognize that I did take the correct off-ramp, but these unnecessary commands are distracting and its hard to tell which are valid and which are not. Obviously if I DO make a mistake in following the…

arriving with destination on the right for those of us that use the app to navigate with a disabled person on board the vehicle
I use my waze while at work driving disabled people to destinations, the vehicle is equipped with a passenger side lift for those in mobility devices, an option to arrive at the destination with it being on the right side of the vehicle would be both safer and more convenient.

Add a “Like” button for Spotify tracks directly from Waze while driving
When using Spotify through Waze, it would be very useful to have a simple “Like” button for the currently playing song.
If a driver likes a song, they could save it to their Spotify Liked Songs directly from Waze, without having to open the Spotify app.
This would significantly reduce driver distraction and improve road safety, as switching between apps and navigating multiple menus while driving can be unsafe.
I believe this small feature would greatly enhance the Spotify integration and the overall driving experience.

Route planning based on severe weather
Is it possible to add a radar weather layer to the navigation map while driving in real time and suggest alternative routes to avoid severe weather. It would be useful to avoid large snow/ ice storms or hail/ thunder storms.

Driver Safety Points: auto-reply to texts, speaker/bluetooth calls only, and speeding alerts.
It would be great if, when you signed into Waze, you were prompted to click on Driver or Passenger. If you are the driver, Waze puts the phone into drive mode, and it either auto-replies to texts with one of five pre-set messages (set up in settings), or it becomes completely voice activated, so it reads your incoming text aloud and allows you to respond via voice only (also set in settings per driver preference). Also, it alerts you to who is calling and allows you to only answer it via either speakerphone or bluetooth (or disregard and it goes…

Do not cancel driver reports for mis-taps
Suggestion: Do not dump Wazers completely out of the reporting process because of a mis-tap or error.
Problem solved: Prevents Wazers from having their attempts to help totally aborted due to mistakes, which is discouraging, frustrating, annoying, demoralizing, and may discourage Wazers from submitting future reports.
Discussion:
When a user opens the report feature on a mobile device, they are presented with a collection of icons to choose from. If, because they are driving and trying to pay attention to the road, they happen to miss the target and accidentally tap the space between icons, the report display cancels out.…

enable Navigation while AVOIDING "RED ROADS"(roads defined as such by authorities/NGO's). Red Road = higher probability for an accident.
Nation wide, the safety level of road infrastructure reflects budget constarints, professional considerations-mistakes etc.
Government as well as NGO's e.g. Or Yarok(Israel) monitor accident rates(as well as severty) per LOCATION.....
Thus it is possible to rate certain roads/junctions as RED - being more dangerous, based on hard statistics.
Most of the drivers are NOT aware of above(i.e. that they can drive to their destination with significantly lower accident risk) and would probably be happy not to RISK their families and hence chose an alternative, safer road.
Regardless of the fact that it would require longer driving.Such measure would lead…

Localized Highway Shields (State & County Routes, etc)
In the U.S., each state has its own highway route number shield. Some states, like West Virginia, also have county route shields that differ from the state route shields. In Pennsylvania, a route like Route 28 would show the Keystone with a 28 on top of it.
A lot of effort is taken in WME to ensure the road names and turn-by-turn instructions match signage. Drivers would benefit by having the same highway shields in their Waze app as they will see on the highway signage as they drive.
Apple has already included this in Apple Maps. It should be…
