1. Add Shazam to the Waze app

   I love to use the Waze.app while I'm driving and especially on long road trips. But I find myself switching to Shazam whenever I hear a song on the radio that I want to identify and it can be difficult to switch back and forth between apps while driving on the highway. Can you add the ability to Shazam a song within the Waze.app and show the song title and artist on the map and if I click on it go to the Shazam app?

2. Waze Light

   Dear Waze community,

   Typically, I rely on Waze to guide me home, however, while leaving a friend's apartment while visiting a foreign country, I found that my fastest route home led me down dark streets and uncrowded areas. Being a young female, I realized that while this was the most efficient way home, it was certainly the least safe. While walking, I realized a vital and potentially life saving feature that could be added to the Waze app would be directions that provided the most lit route in addition to the already offered fastest route. This would benefit not only young women but anyone who finds themselves alone in an unfamiliar and poorly lit area. This feature would function similarly to the traffic feature and would rely on user feedback to provide the up to date information on the most lit, or in their eyes, most safe route. I believe that if this feature were to be added there would be a greater ease for users walking alone and they would find that safety is valued over convenience.

3. Single Lane with/without passing places

   In the UK, we have a large number of narrow two way roads which are often only the width of a single vehicle. You can often meet oncoming traffic head-on with no easy way of passing unless one driver decides to reverse. Either that, or at best, you both end up with scratched paintwork.

   Waze has no way of knowing which roads are narrow, so will often route along this type of road. Many of us would prefer to take a longer route to avoid this type of road.

   I suggest that within WME we have a tickbox option of "narrow road with/without passing places".
   Then, within the app, the user will have an option to avoid this type of road, just as they do with toll roads, motorways, etc.

   I have suggested this at the last two UK conferences, both times with reasonable support from other delegates, but thus far, Waze has ignored this popular suggestion.

4. Accident icon

   Accident icon is not easily recognizable in version 3.6 specially while you are driving and only take a glance in the phone's screen. New icon is pretty similar to traffic jam reports. I think it could be redesigned as a overturned car, or adopt the design used in older versions.

5. Route info for drivers eligible for the Commute (HOV) lane.

   When giving route info do you take into consideration wether commuters are eligible to use the commute (HOV) lane. Some commute lanes require 2 or 3 persons per vehicle. We were traveling form Palm Springs to Redwood City, California, and were diverted to an alternate route because of traffic conditions. We were not sure if the commute lanes
   were also full.

   Thank you for your suggestion! As you may know, Waze offers HOV routing for taxis. To change your vehicle type go to Settings > Vehicle type. There are currently no plans to add more HOV options.

6. Improve carplay layout

   Alerts 500m before the event is to early in big cities with traffic. On the carplay when there is a alert the ETA does not appear. So in big cities with frequent alerts i never see ETA. My suggestion is change layout and keep ETA on the screen when alerts are on. Tks.

7. terrorist alert

   recently people were injured in tel aviv, israel when a terrorist stabbed then as they waited in a traffic jam. waze should have an alert system to notify travelers of terrorist activity in a close vicinity. this could save lives.

8. Add upper/lower freeway selector

   Waze doesn't always know if you are driving on the upper or lower level of a freeway, but it does know where there are two level freeways. Adding a question like "are you on the upper level, similar to "we detected a slowdown. are you in traffic?", would be very helpful

9. One click navigation to Saved places after starting waze

   You start waze everyday and you everyday pick one of 5 routes.
   But you need 3-4 clicks to do so and after every step, you have to do 3-4 quick decision and reading. It takes you attention to waaay too long.

   Imagine new optional One click home screen:

   • no map on home page (but yes, there are button to show map)
   • precalculated routes to all of your saved places IS there
   • all routes with 3 best variants, your preffered way is highlighted and Allways Shown, major issues highlighted

   How it should be - sorry for not uploading picture:

   1) WORK (see road details)
   road 1 - 17 min. (through Main st.) (light traffic logo) - GO in 3, 2, 1..
   road 2 - 27 min. (through highway) (*preffered) (accident) - GO
   road 3 - 35 min. (through Jefferson st.) (hard traffic logo) - GO

   2) HOME - turned off - because you are at home and waze know it. (with option to turn it on if its just GPS issue)

   3) Grandma house (see road details)
   road 1 - 37 min. (through Lincoln av.) (*preffered)- GO
   road 2 - 41 min. (through highway) - GO
   road 3 - 55 min. (through Jefferson st.) (police logo) - GO

   4) GF house (see details)
   road 1 - 10 min. (through Lincoln av.) (*preffered) (police) - GO
   road 2 - 15 min. (through highway) (light traffic) - GO
   road 3 - 25 min. (through Jefferson st.) - GO

   pros:
   ZERO click to got big picture

   ONE click start to daily routes or even monthly routes

   you can start it even if car, if you see accident or traffic. you have better info RIGHT NOW without a single click or scrolling on map, so you acn do it while driving in a second without toutching - MUCH safer

   if ux ++ then much more users will come

   cons:

   waze will have to do very quick road calculations (which can be slower). but there should be Loading bar under every location in this case and you should click on your favourite location to load that first.
   maybe there should be an condition - no load in 3 seconds -> show just map, or this load bar will just be over the map in packed version, so you will see the map and after every route is calculated, it gets bigger.

   everyone sees your saved places or favourite ways. but if you dont save places like girlfriend 1 and girlfriend 2, you are supersafe :-)

   if your telephone is stolen, someone will see your adresses, but it can be seen even if they are just saved.

When we hit the gas prices button WAZE searches for gas stations in range and it ONLY brings them up if in fact they are legitimate gas stations. No one can just post gas prices to gas stations that are not there, so why should we be penalized and lose points because we have "reported to many gas stations in a certain time frame"? It doesn't make sense and WAZE should allow ALL gas price reports. After all WAZE is the one who confirms and posts the gas stations into our phone so we can report them! lol I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!!

12. Danger Alarm(Warn Dangerous Points in the Roads)

    Hello . I live in Iran. Every year in our country, 30000 die in traffic accident and many injure. There are some places in our roads that frequently accidents happen in the places. One place that I know is the entrance of our city from highway that sometimes bad accidents happen in there. This is because of the inaccurate and inefficient design of the roads. Those who are familiar with the place mostly ride carefully in the dangerous part of the roads, and accidents often happen for those that are unfamiliar with the road.

    I suggest that an alarm to be added to the app that warn the places. Like, "500m to dangerous point”. Or there can be used 3 alarms; “Low dangerous area”, “dangerous area” and “highly dangerous area”.

    Now, people aware each other the locations of cameras or polices by the app. It can be for the dangerous areas also.

    1) people suggest the dangerous points and the system consider the point that most is voted as dangerous points.

    2) People can just click the dangerous point when they see an accident and gradually the system learns the dangerous points.

    3) Or the system can obtain the information using the police documents.

    Approximately 1.35 million people die each year as a result of road traffic crashes. The alarm can be helpful for other countries also.

    Even one life is so important. I think the idea works.

    When showing „Routes”, to be able to select „best average-speed route”, because many drivers prefer a longer but a more pleasant drive to a shorter but full of stops and traffic jams one. Driving faster is part of the pleasure of driving.
    Especially in very busy areas, this option would be more than welcomed.
    Driving is a pleasure per se, but not if you just stay in line, stuck in traffic jams.

14. Notify nearby drivers of safety alerts such as headlights

    I notice cars driving in the dark with day time running lights on. Their cars don’t automatically turn on their headlights and taillights but do turn on their dash lights. It would be nice to send them an alert and even instructions (especially if they are in a rental) to turn on their lights. It must be scary for them to drive with basic no headlights and it’s scary for me to see people drive without taillights. There can be other safety alerts such as the gas door open/ cap hanging. This would be an opt in thing to help young and non-car enthusiasts get help from the Waze community.

15. Add police alert on nearby roads

    If the alert (police, traffic jam) is not on the road Waze users are driving on, there is no way to indicate that. For example if I drive on a road that is near a highway and there is an accidant on the highway there is no way to report it.
    It would be nice to let users tap on the map to indicate the place of the alert. If no tap, it means that the place of the alert is the actual place.

    I’d like to suggest a feature called “Emergency Fire Response Assistance” to help firefighters reach fire incidents faster and improve traffic flow around emergency scenes.

    This feature could allow authorized responders to tag a “Fire Incident Zone” with the exact address, providing quick routes that avoid traffic and obstacles. Nearby users would get alerts to take alternative routes, helping clear the way for responders.

    Additionally, dispatch centers could send real-time updates to firefighters (like building entry points or obstacles) for more precise navigation. Once an incident is resolved, responders could mark the area as “clear,” lifting any traffic restrictions.

    This would support public safety by improving response times and minimizing congestion around fire scenes.

18. Road hazards

    Have the option to dismiss users postings. Say if a disabled car is no longer there. Or if a cop isnt there or theres no longer traffic issues jams ect. Add a buttong to be able to dismiss any and all. I know it pops up for disabled cars once in a while. But make it for all things posted. Cause i notice some people post things just to get points that are not even there.

19. Waze to issue Alerts when using CarPlay split screen

    According to Waze support, when using Carplay split-screen (where Waze splits screen with other app like music), Waze won't issue traffic Alerts by design!! That's true, I have confirmed it. As soon as Waze returns to "full screen", it resumes issuing traffic alerts (danger, weather, radar, etc).
    Split-screen is a quite usefull feature of Car-Play as it simplifies greatly audio/music control on the road, without the issue of messing with several buttons.
    Although in split-screen mode the screen area that Waze has to show information is reduced, there is no reason why Waze could not keep issuing the alerts by sound "danger ahead"" or by means of smaller icons.

    Hello,
    Would it be possible that when navigating, the overview of the route with arrow and all traffic jams and speed cameras etc, this arrow moves dynamically and shows how far away the arrow is from the construction site, speed camera or traffic jam? This works very well with the Sygic app. I think that this feature would help many drivers to get a better overview. Thank you
