Make the speed limit and speed and 3D zoom bigger

Be nice to be able to have setting for android auto.. for auto zoom "closer" and "close" Be able to increase size of speed and speed limit.. And change size displays on. Be able to increase street name size. The latter 2 maybe able to include in the increase auto zoom levels?? Needed for people over 50 and those with poor eye sight Increase the Waze market share

use Iphone screen to display speedometer/speed limit when in carpay mode

When in apple carplay mode, use the iphone screen to display the speedometer/speedlimit in full screen. Pehaps as a third tab next to the directions, notifications tab. With the phone in a cradle close to the steering wheel this avoids having to glance to the far right of the main car screen to see the actual speed limit.

Temporary Speed Limits for Road Works

I would like to suggest adding functionality to Waze that supports temporary speed limits on road segments affected by road works. This would work similarly to the current "Closures" feature in the Waze Map Editor (WME).

Reason for Request:
This summer, we have received numerous reports from drivers through the mobile app, indicating incorrect speed limits displayed on roads under construction. Currently, setting temporary speed limits and later restoring the original limits after the road works are completed is a time-consuming, double effort for us.

A "Temporary Speed Limits for Road Works" feature would not only streamline the process of displaying accurate speed limits during road work but also allow us to retain the original speed limits without needing to manually restore them after the works are finished. This would improve efficiency and ensure accurate information is provided to drivers.

Proposed Workflow:
. In WME, introduce a "Road Works" option.

b. Set start date/time and end date/time like for Closures

. Once marked as "Road Works," these segments will display a temporary speed limit icon in the Waze mobile app, reflecting the adjusted speed limit during the construction period.

Zoom Ability Moving with Speed and Limit ON

Using a Kenwood DNX997XR without the zoom control and no pinch zoom the map is unreadable. I need to turn off the speed and Speed limit to see it. Its there when stopped and gone when I move.
Why not MOVE the Speed signs and make them readable. Even better a small, mid and large text box speed sign. Let the user decide what they want on the map.
Waze is great I use it all the time and on a BIG Cadillac screen its fine I pinch zoom and can BARELY see the speed limit. But on a $1000 7" Kenwood I need to switch to Garmin to see the map and streets when I'm driving.
For a great example the Google Speed text box is large enough and retains the zoom control. Just do that and its "As Good as Google Maps". No doesn't a developer of Waze want to be "Better" than Google Maps?

Fixed speed limits (e.g., 120 km/h or 60 km/h) can mislead drivers, risking speeding tickets or accidents, especially on long stretches without repeater signs. Showing no limit confuses users and suggests unedited segments. This issue frustrates Waze communities in the UK, USA, India, Canada, and beyond, demanding a smarter solution.

Current Options

No limit: Safest option, avoiding misinformation, but frustrates users expecting guidance and implies segments weren’t edited. A better solution exists.

Maximum limit (e.g., 120 km/h): Risks speeding when actual limits are lower, endangering safety.

Average limit (e.g., 100 km/h): Unreliable due to VSL fluctuations, causing incorrect warnings.

Lowest limit (e.g., 60 km/h): Overly cautious, annoying users with unnecessary alerts.

Solution
Display a country-specific speed limit sign (e.g., Israel’s red circle, USA’s rectangle) in the same UI spot as numeric limits, but with a symbol (e.g., question mark "?", exclamation mark "!", or eye "👀") instead of a number, urging drivers to check roadside VSL signs. In the Waze Map Editor (WME), add a simple, country-specific symbol option for editors to tag VSL segments.

Speed Camera Reports throughout an Average Speed Check Zone

When I’m alerted that i’m in an average speed check zone, I tend to get notified every 20-30 seconds of a camera as part of that zone. It gets repetitive and quite annoying as I know that I need to remain within that speed limit until i’m notified that I have left the average speed check zone. It’s just a suggestion but would it make more sense if speed camera alerts were removed whilst in an average speed check zone?

New circle after doubling the speed limit

Hello there, this is just a suggestion I have about a cool feature that you could add to the app! So, a few days ago I was in a road and noticed on my Waze that if, for example, the road limit is 90 kn/h, the red dots will form a circle and fulfill it at double the speed limit. And to test it I went beyond double, and when I checked I was very disappointed that the red dots just stop and stand at that position. As I told that to a few friends they also got very disappointed and we all thought it would be an amazing addition to this app If, when you go past double the speed limit, the red dots change to another color, for example, a bright purple, and continued to form the next circle, going up to its double!

And I know that now you're thinking, what a stupid thing, why would you even go more than twice the speed limit, that's crazy. And yes I could agree to that if it wasn't for the fact that in my country, and I'm sure others too, there are open roads that could easily be highways, all straight and large, limited to 70/80 km/h. So yeah. Sorry to bother, that's all.

Speed trap

When speed trap notification pops up. Tachometer becomes hidden behind the directions element. That makes it impossible to read current speed and also max speed limit. Maybe the possible cause is scaled system UI. I think the speed trap notification could popup small in the corner.

Add option to add sound decibel readers

NYC specifically in the 5 boroughs of new york as well as a couple of other states started a program for sound decibel readers to be installed through out the city in other words noise cameras for cars and motorcycles. NYC has always been a loud place so this is un necessary. It is also not right towards cars that come from the factory stock such as scat pack chargers, hellcats, mustangs, harley davidson motorcycles, sports bikes, As well as many super cars. The 1st noise violation is a insane price of approximately $800 the 2nd is approximately $1600 and the 3rd violation is approximately $2400 these numbers are insane its already hard enough to live in NY due to the cost of living. Waze please consider this option. Majority of users use your app due to its much appreciation of speed and red light cameras notifications. If this feature was added it will bring even more users because your notifying drivers of all 3 types of possible cameras that can ticket drivers. You will be saving people money in every way possible with this added feature.

Map scale indicator

Have you ever wondered how many miles long that traffic jam is up ahead? I sure have, but Waze gives no indication of distances on a map. How about one of the little bars that indicates the scale of the current map view - you know 1 inch equals a mile, etc.

Report dangerous area or attemp assault, theft, etc.

The same way we can report the traffic, it would be interesting to get to report if you saw in front of you or you was was assaulted, robbed or threatened. This way other people can avoid the way, the cops can see where there are bad guys acting and so on. If you're nearby your cell also would play a sound like gun fire. :0).

Search results not close to my location.

Usually, the first few search results are hundreds or even thousands of kilometres / miles from my location. Search results should default to the closest to me, unless I add more details on the search location, like town/city.

More Road Closure Options

While navigating, if a road is closed, we have the option to enter that a turn is closed. You can enter construction, with temporary, or "several hours", or "several days". You should be able to enter times. For example, a road near my work is only open from 530am - 6pm M-F. There is no way to submit that.

Routing server timeout on long drives

Since the app seems to consistently time out looking for long drives, I would recommend allowing more back end resources be used for drives over a certain mileage or time. This might require an upgrade based on the high number of users.

Instead of having just one option, I would like to be able to choose between options since there are riskier routes for adding traffic.

I'm sure I'm not the only one with this issue since I can have perfect service on an iPhone 6S and consistently have your servers time out.

Waze RoadTrip- A New Option for Wazers

You will likely want to hear an idea that will expand your audience and retain your current customer base.

Recently, I embarked on an excursion from Orlando, FL to Charleston, SC. It’s a fairly short road trip, but within those 6 hours, I wondered to myself how great it would be to see more than just the highway in front of me and the trees that lined the road. I quickly grew exhausted from seeing the same paved road, white lines, and billboard signs over and over again.

I turned to my boyfriend with two hours left on our trip and said, “There should be an app, or a feature on the GPS, that allows a road trip option.”

And that’s how I thought of Waze RoadTrip. An option on the Waze app that allows users to choose between a straight shot to their destination, or the option to take a trip with interesting routes and unique stops along the way.

When a user selects the RoadTrip option, Waze would alert them to stops for unique things to do, highly rated local places to eat, historical areas, as well as the closest rest stops and the usual stops such as gas stations, just to name a few ideas.

Furthermore, Waze would crowdsource from users who would add their own favorite stops and interesting facts about the places they’re driving through.

Finally, Wazers could check in to these places, so that others might choose to meet with them based on their mutual interests and close proximity at any given moment.

I realize this idea requires an investment by Waze and likely an integration with other existing platforms that offer a similar experience but require users to use separate applications. Waze RoadTrip will be worth your investment in creating a uniform platform that eases and pleases your user base.

I would like to discuss this, and several other ideas, that I believe will be very profitable to your company and require only imagination and understanding of user experience.

Autodetect closures and closed roads

Waze should automatically detect closures and close roads without relying on Wazers to use the in-app closure function or on map editors to add them. Just as Waze can detect traffic and reroute, it could also detect when no one follows the directed guidance and there is zero traffic on a segment. Then when Wazer start driving on the segment again it could reopen.

Google Maps (part of Google Geo) gets closure info from Waze. And Waze (part of Google Geo) should also get closure info from Google Maps. It doesn't now, and instead will route Wazers into a closed road, even though Google Maps already shows the road closed and routes Google Maps users around the closure.

Detour capability

I would like for the ability to determine a detour to the current route. For example, if the highway you are on is blocked, slow or closed due to an accident, you can push a detour option/button and select the distance of the detour (1/2 mile, 1 mile, 2 miles, 5 miles, 10 miles...) or maybe the system can suggest the detour length based on what it knows of the traffic conditions ahead. Once your determined detour distance is exhausted, you are routed back to your original route. Many GPS Nav systems today have this capability/feature and is very useful. Garmin does this very well.

Change the color of the exit signs from background yellow and white lettering. It's too difficult to see

You recently changed the color of exit signs to background yellow withwhite lettering. I cannot see the number of the exit with white lettering. Please change the background to darker, or the lettering to a dark color.

CarPlay reporting button

The buttons to report “Still There” and “Not There” are stacked vertically in CarPlay, this leads to accidentally pressing the wrong option a significant number of times due to a badly timed bump. If the buttons were next to each other this wouldn’t be an issue.

Add Soundcloud as one of the music player options to make a navigation voice and music pause a seamless driving experience

It would be nice if Soundcloud was added to the music player list. There's so many other options on there but that's only only one that's missing that commonly used. It would be nice if it was added so the music music can pause and resume or lower for navigation directions.
