  1. Improve the GPS points layer

To branch off the discussion from the WME release topic:

    RichardPyne כתב:
I would find GPS points much more useful if they were color coded by age rather than direction. Th arrows provide useful direction, but in areas where traffic patterns are changing due to construction, knowing the age of the trace would be far more useful.

    dchary2418 כתב:
It could help if the GPS traces were the same original color, but shaded darker for older data.

    Glodenox כתב:
I'd be all for somehow showing the age of the GPS points. Especially the more recent data seems of interest to…

  2. Manage closures in the Issue Tracker menu

Live closures are one of the most important contributions that editors can make to the Waze map
The functionality of viewing past closures on the map has recently been added, which adds complexity to the view.
This suggestion involves managing closures from the Issue Tracker, allowing you to filter those that have been completed, those that are about to expire, or those within a period of time; or by zones in the same way as the UR, PUR or MP
I guess this sug includes this one: https://waze.uservoice.com/forums/59225-map-editor-suggestions/suggestions/47514620-show-only-active-closures and this one https://waze.uservoice.com/forums/59225-map-editor-suggestions/suggestions/45584869-move-closures-history-to-the-closures-tab

  3. Allow 3 choices for PURs that report closed places. 1) Ignore; 2) edit place 3) delete place

Currently we can only ignore a PUR that reports a place closed or delete the closed place. We have no other choices available. Often, we need to make changes in operating hours or make other changes but NOT delete the place. If we ignore the PUR, it counts against the reporter. We need a third choice that gives the reporter credit for the report but allows us to keep the place and make appropriate changes to it.

  4. Ability to add more than 4 fields in the Address box

Please give us the ability to create more than 4 address fields. and make it so that editors can set custom number of fields according to their own area.
Right now waze has four boxes for address: Street, City, State, Country.
Not all addresses in the world work quite exactly like this so please
I would like to suggest waze allow users to create custom fields and name them and Country coordinators set the limit of fields in each city and country.
So we can have many fields like:
    Street
    Sector
    Phase
    Town
    City
    District
    State
    etc.
    I tried looking…

  5. House numbers for villages with no street names

There are many places where there are no street names - it's just "City name - number" as the address.

  8. Add "above" number of days since last comment filter to Issue Tracker

In the Issue Tracker, we have "Last 30 Days" and "Last 7 Days" options in the "Last comment time". This filters out the URs since the last comments were before 30 or 7 days.

Can we have another filter for "Above <number> of Days" ago?

The number of days on the Last and Above options should be configurable for the user. As such, if I enter 3, I should see all URs with Last Comment that was made more than 3 days ago.

We can use a between-dates filter, but this must be changed daily. If we have the above…

  9. Add checkboxes to flag unusable/inaccessible gas stations

Editors occasionally find angry URs from drivers who couldn't use or reach stations listed in their gas-station finder. For example, a substantial fraction of drivers -- the majority? -- cannot use non-gasoline fuel, cardlocked stations, military-only stations, or private stations located inside secure installations. Many cannot use members-only stations, such as Costco in the US.

One way to prevent these misroutings would be to add checkboxes for limited-audience gas stations, for example as follows. The app could then let drivers opt in as desired.

In WME, the list might read:
    - Military only
    - Members only
    - Non-gasoline fuels only…

  10. Add "Serial Number" field to Speed Cameras in WME

Currently, when adding or editing a speed camera in the WME, there’s no way to associate it with its official registration or identification. I suggest adding a “Serial Number” field to the speed camera settings.

Having this field would allow editors to input the official serial number of each speed enforcement device, as issued by the government or regulatory agency. This is extremely valuable because:

    • It enables verification and validation of the camera against official databases from transportation or metrology authorities.
    • It improves accuracy when identifying missing, moved, or deactivated cameras.
    • It helps prevent duplicate or outdated hazards, ensuring only…

  11. Only send one Email if a UR gets commented and closed

On URs, it would be nice for editors to have a "comment and close" button to send a single email/notification to users, instead of two (an editor has left a comment, and your reported issue has been closed).

Most of the time, the user sends a last message right before closing the UR (something like: thank you, we fixed the map, it will take a few days to reach the app...).

Alternatively, use a queue and automatically merge these two events together if they occur within a specified time frame.

  12. Facilitate the addition/editing of rivers, lakes and water cover

Drawing large rivers on the map, for example, is torture. Although there are scripts that "help" the task, Waze should add its own feature to add water covers, instead of the place editors as it is today.

My suggestion is that each type of water cover has its own type of editor. For example, to draw a river, the editor draws a line that follows the direction of the river and chooses the width, Waze then fills in smoothly, that is, with several "dots".

Another suggestion is the possibility of connecting aquatic elements, such as connecting the river to a…

  13. School Zone excluded segment ID option

Currently, we can exclude based on road types, which in most cases is sufficient. However, there are times that we may need to exclude a segment that is the same road type in the school zone because of cross traffic.

For example, in the image below, the school zone is on a mH. I can exclude the FWY with no concerns, but the 2 yellow arrows point out some mH segments that I can't currently exclude. The issue is that if I am driving either of those routes, I will get a School Zone alert, and eventually a reduced SL,…

  14. Add new layer with Road Signs (generated from Street View)

Use AI models to identify Road Signs from existing Street View images, and surface them in WME as a new layer.

    Road sign examples:
    - Speed limits
    - Stop/Give way
    - No entry
    - Prohibited turns
    - Sharp bends
    - Lanes merging

Ideally this new layer should come with sub-layers and allow editors to show/hide on demand (similar to how Hazards currently appear in WME). Sub-layers could be groups - for example:
    - Warnings
    - Speed limits
    - Orders
    - Instructions

  15. Add type "Boom Barrier" to permanent hazard

    https://i.imgur.com/T05sm8V.png

In my country (but I think everywhere) there are a lot of barriers which are placed in different areas like PLR, restricted areas, private areas, .. This barriers are opened for locals or by different type of card/transmitters. It's very convenient when user or taxi driver see this permanent hazard on his road. I think it's not difficult to add this type to current PH structure.

In my country there ate not "toll booth"-es and we use this type (they are the same on the picture) but it's not convenient for people who use another TTS and language in…

  16. MTE Temporary parking lots

Very often during large events, temporary parking lots are created for the duration of the event, it would be very useful to be able to create in the WME these parking lots only for the duration of the event.
It is not possible to do this now because we have to wait for the map update.

  18. Feature Proposal: Visual Markers for Start and End of Average Speed Zones

    Dear Waze Team,

We are writing to you on behalf of the community of volunteer map editors and Waze app users in the Czech Republic. We would like to propose a new feature that, in our opinion, would significantly refine and clarify the display of average speed camera zones on the map.

Currently, we lack an effective way to visually mark the precise start and end points of an average speed zone on the map. We therefore propose two possible solutions:

    1. A New Icon with No Sound Alert: We propose the introduction of a new, non-audible icon that editors could…

  19. Filter GPS tracks by vehicle type: private, taxi, motorcycle

The GPS layer should have checkmarks where we could choose the vehicle type of the GPS tracks we want to see.
This would be great for determining what type of vehicle is using a particular road, which in turn would be useful for deciding what road restrictions a road should have.

  20. Partners polygon layer

    Hello,
Thanks to the Waze for Cities program, we are happy to have more and more partners, either for road management (Connected Citizens) or for event management (Global Event Partners).
For those who do not know the details, you should know that a partner benefits from one or more polygons that characterize their rights area (data flows to or from Waze, closures, MTE).
The community being very involved, and always on the lookout for modifications to be made in WME, or closures to be programmed, it often happens that our closures or our editions conflict with their closures.
    It is…
