  1. Avoid hills with stop lights

For manual cars we have lots of people getting very close to us on steep hills and I have to dump my clutch just so I don’t roll back and I can’t keep doing that on hills with stop lights. I think it would be great for a option to avoid hills with stop lights or stop signs so manual cars don’t get stuck on hills. I think it would be a great feature for a lot of people

  3. Add manual lock level to Junction Boxes

Currently, Junction Boxes do not have a controllable lock level. From the look of it, the lock level displayed is the minimum level for the country that can edit a JB. For example, in the UK only L5+ editors can edit JBs, so all JBs show auto(5) in WME.

With various changes that HQ are making into WME and the app, it seems to me that they expect a massive increase in JBs over time. U-turn prevention, junction modification for Falcon are just some of the things for which the answer often seems to be "use a JB".

  4. 2D Hazards

I'm not sure if this sort of thing will be covered in Permanent Hazards development, but it would be very handy to be able to define an area polygon to which a hazard report would apply.
To me, the obvious application would be for prolonged construction zones where roads remain open but users ought to be made aware of an issue ahead.
    How I see this working:
An editor would draw a polygon over the affected area and then choose a hazard type and add an optional comment to the polygon. It should be possible to define schedules and an…

Obrigado

New Motor Vehicle No Entry cameras on the road outside a local school mean traffic avoids them by turning into a residential street, causing noise and pollution. The cameras only operate for restricted periods around school hours, yet cars now avoid the school road because drivers assume the cameras operate at all times. Can the controlled hours be factored into the driver information so they know when to avoid the road and when it is ok to use it?

  9. Please add traffic on map when not navigating so that we can see traffic like Google maps does.

Please add traffic onto map when not navigating so that we can see traffic congestion like Google maps does. I tend to just open Waze for traffic issues and police and hazards when driving to work everyday because I don’t need to navigate to work normally.

  10. Add a road closure once at destination

It would be really helpful to add a road closure on the map once you're at your destination. Often you are driving and can't do this, especially if you can't drive near the closure

  13. Chuva

  15. Tag URs with "Not Following"

I tried finding a post that described this problem but I could not find it, in case there is one, it can be merged to that thread.

tl;dr Add a tag to URs when the user is not registered or not following a UR.

Not long ago ronsek57 told me that users, who just opened the app and never registered, are able to send URs but they never receive any of our messages asking for more information. I tested that on three URs (IDs 11946180, 11946458, 11946459), I am not adding permalinks because they already disappeared from WME.

    I sent…

    Hey,

Thank you very much for taking the time for thinking of it. As it was mentioned in the forum before, as for now, this suggestion will not be implemented.

We are currently working on some other changes to our conversations.

  16. Vitrual Lanes

There are many places where Lanes go one or two junctions back (H junctions for example). The editor should allow to define lanes that are not limited to the turns at the end of this segment:
    Real example:
We have 3 lanes. The left lane is loaded for 1 KM. In that 1 KM there are 4 junctions ( right turns allowed).

It would be nice to be able to define 1 lane for Left turn, one for going Straight Ahead, and one for Straight Ahead or Right. And be able to do this for all 5 segments.

  17. Improve Segment History Reporting of Turns

Description: Currently when editors make most changes to a turn between two segments the segment history simply shows "Turn onto X road updated". It would be much more helpful if we could easily tell what was changed about that turn. Was is a turn instruction override (TIO)? A difficult turn? Time-based restrictions? There was a change in a value associated with the data model of that segment, so it's very much possible to have the segment history be more specific.

In this image there are three entries for turn updates to the same turn, but other than the TIO there…

  18. UR Reply via Email

This is slightly outside the scope of WME Beta, but in general about our ability to provide a better service for end users.

Allow users to reply to URs via email. Many support systems allow this, and in most cases, the process is fairly simple. The process might be as follows:

    • User submits a request/issue from the app while they drive
    • We (editors) get a pin on the map with submitted details as before
    • User gets an email with a unique response email address (something like 8766123133@requests.waze.com)
    • User gets instructions on how to view the map issue they submitted

    Hey jangliss,

Thank you very much for this detailed suggestion.
Currently there is a lot of work around communication between the WME and the client (the app), to find how best should be handled.

We will do our best to share some more details about it in the near future.

At this point this is currently not planned, and therefore won’t move to our back log.

If any thing in this direction will be changed, we will update accordingly.

    Best,
    Hezi

  19. Include Lane Guidance with URs in purple provided route

Currently when we get a UR, we can see what primary instructions were given to users at junctions. Now that we have lanes, it would be helpful in diagnosing problematic lane configurations if we could see what lane guidance information was presented to the user as well.

  20. Surfacing House Number Errors

A nice feature would be to surface the real error message from house number additions. Sometimes when there is a conflict between segments, you get a generic "there was an error" type message, but the back end call has the full details which you can see through dev tools. For example:

    This segment: https://www.waze.com/en-US/editor/?env=usa&lon=-97.48797&lat=30.16312&zoom=6&segments=48240740
    Conflicts with: https://www.waze.com/en-US/editor/?env=usa&lon=-94.82458&lat=29.82488&zoom=6&segments=48240740,511847520,511847562,511847579

When the city is listed as "none" (No City). When adding "115" to the latter, this resulted in an error (see attached)

However, the backend error that is returned by the web request is (see attached)

There's enough in the error message there…
