Bring back Service Lanes
I'm frustrated with the recent attempts by Waze to take me off of the main road and into the Service Lane, only to tell me to get back onto the main road further up.
I disagree with this method of saving time because it's rude to other users and not a constructive use of the road.Previously, Waze labelled these roads differently to the actual road and wouldn't route you there unless necessary for arriving at your destination. Now, it's just silly and I'm constantly having to touch my phone, scrolling to see if I actually need to use…

Add common objects to Hazard:Road
To reduce the possibility of the user becoming a potential road hazard, update the Report:Hazard:Road option with a submenu so that we don't have to type out what's in the middle of the road. There is already an option to report cars stopped on the shoulder, but none to report cars stopped in lane, or tire treads, or deceased animals.
It doesn't need to be fancy, just something so that we don't need to type, unless it's something really unusual.

Trucker Version
Develop a trucker setting, or perhaps an entirely separate 'Trucker Waze' app for those of us running larger vehicles. We need to know about low clearance overpasses/bridges, narrow lanes and one lane bridges, weight restrictions, etc. For example, I pull oversized trailers up and down the East Coast (USA). I am 14'6" high, and 10'6" wide. You could even buy Trucker Path and add all the Waze functionality...

Add traffic lights or single lane to roadworks
Add subcategories for roadworks - with estimated time increasing on a route with temporary lights which can add significant time to a journey.

Quick-report presets
The amount of phone interaction required for reporting is a bit onerous while driving. Tap to Report > select category > add optional additional info > send. I often skip reporting altogether to avoid distracting from driving.
I would love to see the ability to have one-touch presets for making reports from the main screen. A single tap to mark & send a report on an accident, hazard, or speedtrap, etc.
User might even be allowed to customize which presets are present and/or include specific text (i.e. "Left lane closed") for frequent events.

Show Roadshields without voice output
It would be great to show Roadshields on the smartphone client without voice output.
At the moment we can show "straight ahead" without voice instruction with the lane assistant tool on WME. This function shows the detail "continue straight" only (without voice output).
It would be great to setup Roadshields and give them a flag "show only, without voice output". Roadshields are a powerful tool and can help to find the right direction. But a voice output isn't necessary always.32 votes -
Can add Favorites with GPS position
Add a "Add actual position" or something like this when we want to add a new favorite.
It's better for adding places than address when we are in an unknow long lane in the middle of the countryside...

Separate toggles for Toll Bridges and Express Lanes
Please add an option to avoid Express Lanes while still using Toll Bridges.
The HOV lanes in my area are being converted to Express Lanes that charge excessive tolls (closing in on $10) to use them. I refuse to drive in them. However, it's necessary for me to cross toll bridges to get to work (avoiding them will add an hour to my commute). If I tell Waze to avoid tolls, I avoid the Express Lanes AND the Toll Bridges, which is terrible.
Separating the 'Toll' toggle into 'Toll Bridges' and 'Express Lanes' would be…16 votes -

Allow private road closure reports when report limit hit
I had a problem trying to get home during a bad flood event. There were a lot of closed roads which Waze tried to send me down and eventually I got the “Too many reports” message (which I assume is to avoid abuse), so I wasn’t able to map a route home as Waze still tried to direct me through closed roads.
To avoid this, when a report limit is hit, why not allow reports to be made that are only visible to me?
That way I would still be able to map a route that works and there’s still…1 vote -
Account for congestion of multiple lanes merging into one
When there is a junction with two highways and a small road, consider it a standstill traffic jam heading from any highway onto a small road. Because it's 4-6 lanes going into 1 lane - it will certainly slow traffic down to a halt.
1 voteThanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

Differ the blocked lane pictogram visible on the map in dependence on which lane is blocked (right, left or middle).
It will help with selection of proper side of the road in advance.

Report police driving in the same direction 🚨
Today it's possible to report police driving in the opposite direction, but it would be good to also be able to report if they're driving in the same direction as yourself to be able to warn drivers ahead of you. Or maybe it should be all rescue vehicles, so people can give a clear lane for police, ambulances and fire trucks

Start direction
Similar to how you can chose Closure directions, when you start navigation you should have the ability to chose which direction you are traveling.

Ability to add obstructions offline
Wish there was a way to add (eg, road closures) offline - currently it seems the only way to do it is to actually drive there until the triangle button appears on the screen. Trying to warn everyone as a closed road is currently showing as roadworks/closed lane.

Horse-riding
It would be great if you could mark yourself as a slow-moving hazard for other Wazers to be alerted to on their screens as they drive.
Imagine you are riding a horse on a narrow country lane. Considerate drivers slow right down when passing riders on horseback to avoid spooking the horses.
If you could declare yourself a rider on horseback, and had your phone with you then other Waze users could be alerted to your presence well before rounding the very last corner and needing to brake suddenly.
This could reduce accidents between horses and cars.

Report two different things with one event report
Example of what I mean: Last week I reported an accident on the highway, but because I moved while reporting it I could not also report an object on the road, what has happen is, a car crashed on the light post and it then ended up on the highway's right lane.

Possibility to ad work area outside navigation
It would be great to be able to add danger or work area or road closure once arriviste at destination or outside the actual navigation.

Include applicable date range on TBR list
The new editing interface for time-based restrictions shows a list of restrictions and their Lane, Days, Time and Summary. Where multiple restrictions are necessary, it would make editing simpler if the applicable date range was shown on the list of restrictions to avoid having to open each in turn to locate the date range wanted.

Simplify ability to mark roads as closed
There is a road closure near me which is not currently shown on Waze and Waze therefore keeps trying to route through this closure. I know it is there so why am I not able to simply mark a road as closed anywhere (ie not just when I am on a route)? Otherwise people will keep being routed towards a closure and the last thing they are thinking of when they are having to turn around and go a different way is to inform Waze about the closure. Seems such a simple fix and if you are worried…
