Hide search bar
I keep seeing this response to multiple users about the search bar that does not go away: “ Thanks for the suggestion. Search bar automatically hides after around 30 seconds driving without navigation”. The bar does NOT go away after 30 seconds. It takes me 20 minutes to drive to work, and it will not go away. Night mode issue
Previously with CarPlay set to Dark mode (which I think makes it easier to see CarPlay functions), Waze when set to “Auto” showed daytime maps when light outside and night versions of maps when dark out (at night or in a garage). Lately, Waze only shows night versions of maps unless CarPlay is set to light mode. I have always had CarPlay on dark mode and this was not an issue. Also note that both Apple Maps and Google Maps show daytime versions of their maps when it is daylight outside even with CarPlay on dark mode, just as Waze…

Accurate speed
When using Apple Car Play, my speed is continuously 12+mph over what I am actually doing. I can use the app on my phone just fine it’s accurate within + or - 2mph. I am confused as to why my truck displays such a difference. Brand new truck, brand new iPhone. All updates to apps and devices as required.

Notifications when screen off, like Google Maps
Google Maps has a very practical feature for travelers who frequently use the same route over and over: Turn your phone screen off, and you'll be notified whenever turns are coming up. If you know the route, maybe it's a long one and you just want to be reminded not to miss turns, it's really useful to have these notifications.
In Google Maps, this notification feature extends really well onto Pebble watches, so your wrist gets a gentle vibration for each upcoming turn while the phone screen is off.

Using the smartphone's front camera for alert about driver's tiredness
In Android there is a feature named "smart stay" which allows the smartphone to recognize, using the front camera, if the user is watching the screen (in order to turn off the screen when not in use) - see

If this is possible (even partially), it can save lives.

i70 EB is closed at Glenwood Springs, CO and Waze doesn't know it.
I'm trying to use Waze before Google or Apple on iOS and mainly happy.
But i70 EB has been closed for several hours today 4/24/25 and Waze has no idea. Apple and Google both show the closure and expect it to last until 7 pm, i.e. for about 12 hours total.The best detour (local knowledge) is over Cottonwood Pass in Eagle County that departs state Hwy 82 at Cattle Creek Road and comes into Gypsum, CO on Cottonwood Pass Road. Waze and Google both show seasonal closure still in effect on that road, while Apple and aspenchamber.org both show…

Tenho um Iphone6 iOs 12. O waze que está instalado acusa que não está acessando o GPS. Já desinstalei e instalei o waze novamente, sem sucesso. Já liguei para o suporte da Apple, refizemos todas as configurações possíveis e o problema continua. Não consigo mais utilizar o waze no meu iPhone6. Aguardo solução. Afichage en mode "CAR PLAY"
La barre d'alerte qui apparait à gauche de l'écran d'un smartphone en mode vertical, lors de l'approche d'une zone à risque, n'est pas disponible le téléphone en mode paysage, ni sur l'écran de la voiture avec l'application Apple carplay.

Allow music apps to be imported from your own device
People have different Apps for music like I use YouTube music, apple music and amazon music and sometimes Heart Radio. However I cannot use Apple music and Heart Radio on Waze only amazon, youtube music etc it be awesome if there could be music apps imported or integrated by people's phones as many countries use different apps and it helps people when driving.

Report blocked lane
Right now on Apple car play when you report a blocked lane. It’s left, right and center. I would always have to carefully read which one I tap while driving.
I think have left, center and right would be easier to tap around

Don’t let stationary users perform status updates for police cars.
Make it so that you need to be moving in order to click that a cop car is no longer there.
Don’t let stationary users perform status updates regarding the fact that a police car is in a spot or not. Once you do this, cops will stop watching Waze to undo what drivers are reporting so that they do t get noticed.
Please.
We will trust the app 1000% more!!! Word will spread.

Landscapes near you and you did not know about their existence
On an excursion in Europe between Germany and Austria and Switzerland, we reached our destination, like any destination. But it is also important to enjoy the road and breathtaking scenery. Sometimes it's worth stopping for a moment .. (That's how the idea came about)
Sharing landscape photos (located on / near the route I'm going through) of users will help those who do not know the area, reach the landscape that is on my route. Stop for a moment and watch from the vehicle and then continue on a trip

"Express" Hazard Reporting
Love Waze, but I don't like how many actual touches are required to report a hazard. The more time it takes to report a hazard, the more time your eyes are not watching the road. Also, the most common hazard I see is a car stopped on the shoulder. I'd like a two-touch way of reporting this. If the report menu could be customizable to include a "quick report" option for the most common hazard a driver encounters, this would be a solution.

Better lane guidance
I like the idea of lane guidance but I would like it if it says stay in this or that lane instead of saying continue straight with arrows pointing up just like what Apple Maps does for example so that way people aren’t cutting across lanes of traffic which I see all the time and that includes turning left or right onto an intersection wether it has a traffic light or not I noticed Apple Maps for example says stay in the middle or left or right lane I would really like it if waze does what Apple Maps does…

Close app on iPhone.
Go back to the old system of closing the app. Like many other people, I use my phone for directions and the recent changes are so annoying that I’m seriously thinking of removing the app. I could live with the annoyance of being automatically connected when I’m in my newer car via apple play - but now this is just backward to close the app via my iPhone.

Add Multitouch Support for Waze on CarPlay (iOS 26)
Starting with iOS 26, Apple officially added multitouch support for CarPlay apps (confirmed on Apple’s developer website).
However, Waze still doesn’t support multitouch gestures such as pinch-to-zoom — which makes map navigation less intuitive and even unsafe while driving.Currently, zooming in or out requires multiple taps, forcing drivers to take their eyes off the road.

On IOS 14 apple enable Hebrew keyboard, please enable that on Hebrew version of waze.
