1. Waze CarPlay glitch

   When navigating in the background on Waze via Apple CarPlay, and trying to change music on Spotify in CarPlay, if I approach a turn, Waze starts popping up prompting me to return to Waze and see the map. However, when it's a simple instruction like "turn right ahead," I will try to minimize the navigation without viewing the map so I can continue selecting music. But the pop up WILL NOT STOP until I click it and go back to Waze to see the map - there is literally no way to ignore the navigational pop ups when trying to do something else like pick a song, make a phone call, send a text, etc.

   Makes me extremely frustrated and seems like a programming issue. If I've read the instructions and am making the turn etc, I should be able to just click the "back" button to send the pop up away and resume what I was doing

2. Please give back functionality to have Map when connected to Android Auto

   Google who owns Android Auto and Waze should allow the user to decide preference for map or directions when connected to Android Auto. Given many factors one or the other could be a lot safer so the new way of forced directions is Not for safety. Need to place a setting to choice or give back functionality. The workaround of reverting back to previous version and Never updated an app is ridiculous cause could miss out on many good features introduced. Come on Google don't be like Apple and dictate what we can do... That is anti Android.

   Plus it does not make sense cause not like y'all are migrating to Waze and gonna abandon Google Maps. Heck I love to have Google maps on my console and Waze map on my phone. Perfect and safest thing for me and I am sure a lot others.

   OK off soap box. Just stop trying to over think for people that is Apples job for their customer base. Android is for tech minded, tweakers, modders and the like. Free love is the way of Android.... LOL please please please

5. Feedback and Feature Suggestion for Improved Map Interaction

   I wanted to share some observations and a suggestion that could enhance the user experience when searching for locations with multiple branches, like Safeway.

   I noticed that Apple Maps stands out by showing the user’s current location in relation to multiple search results on the map, which helps give a quick visual understanding of where you are and where you’re headed. However, it currently lacks the ability to tap directly on a location pin on the map to begin navigation. Instead, users must choose from the text list, which can be confusing if you’re unsure of the exact address or direction you’re heading.

   Here’s the challenge:
   When there are several nearby results (e.g., three Safeway stores), and you don’t know the exact address, it becomes difficult to choose the best option—especially if one is closer to your route or destination.

   My suggestion:
   Please consider enabling users to tap on a location pin directly on the map to view its details and start navigation from there. This visual-first approach would make selecting the right location faster and more intuitive, especially when navigating unfamiliar areas.

   Yesterday afternoon was a terrible day for traffic in the NY/NJ area. Waze had routed me to use Challenger Road and local roads to get from the NJTPKE North to 46E toward the GWB. The left turn to 46 E was blocked by multiple police cars. Considering that I had spent 10-15 minutes following directions only to be re-routed again, I wanted to let someone know. I couldn’t locate a quick way on the app (when I am using the Apple Car Play screen) to indicate that routing was no longer allowed. It happened again 3 times in Ft Lee as well, but I was being waved on by police so fast I couldn’t take any eyes off the road long enough to warn other drivers.

   I would love an extremely quick-to-access one-touch indicator that shows up on Car Play, whether placed in the traffic or hazard area, when a normal turn is temporarily blocked.

8. Navigation Info Obscuring ETA on I-285 West in Atlanta, GA (Exit 61 – Airport)

   Hi Waze team,

   I’d like to report a usability issue I encountered while using Waze with Apple CarPlay. When driving on I-285 West near Atlanta, Georgia, heading toward Exit 61 (Airport / Domestic / Atlanta / Montgomery / Columbus), the navigation panel becomes too large, displaying an extended list of destinations and road names.

   In this specific case, the upcoming turn involves I-85 South and multiple destination labels, causing the black instruction box on the left side to expand significantly. This box completely blocks the estimated time of arrival (ETA) and other useful trip data, making it impossible to see when I’ll reach my destination without closing or waiting for the box to change.

   This happened while merging onto I-285 West, approaching the exit for the Atlanta Airport.

   Suggested Improvement:

   Please consider updating the interface so that:

   The ETA remains visible at all times, regardless of the length of the turn instruction text.

   The instruction box could be scrollable, collapsible, or redesigned to avoid overlapping key travel info.

   This issue affects driver safety and planning, especially during long trips or complex interchanges where multiple destinations are listed.

   ....

   I do have a few somethings else ….

   1)I need the directions to reference something I see out the window. I don’t care if the locals call it “Webster-Basin-Springs RD” …. what’s on the road sign is State 333 off of US 60 South west of Irvington, **. You’ll need google maps/apple maps to find this reference. Waze only shows the name which cannot be seen on the road.

   Waze CONSTANTLY uses a reference which is NOT on the roadway signs.

   2) Nuther complaint: “where to” tap doesn’t persist when moving. So I get penalized with needing more attention to the app while driving than “just a glance.” Let it persist like it does when I’m not moving.

   3) I expect this probably involves some sort of payment, but finding destinations is hardly easy. So what I have to do is use the apple or google map to search for fuel stations I want to use and then copy the address, enter it into a non-persistent ‘goto’ field.

   4) need to restore the ability to easily update the speed limit. Used to be “tap the speedometer” to open a correction … now unable to correct as far as I know.

   5) It has “opt out” of a toll road. It also needs to be aware of the vehicle … are we able to “turn around” on a narrow residential street with driveways the only alternative to BACKING onto a highway … or are we a truck/trailer combination which needs a roadway? motorcycle, sports car, sedan, SUV/Truck, Truck-Trailer.

   6) perhaps ability to easily update the max speed for accurate ETA. On this last trip (towing an RV) … I didn’t run the 75 mph speed limit.

   7) Finally … how about a selectable chime only for when approaching a turn (with selectable lead time) in the computed direction or add a chime for an alert? Waze reads-off 5 different roadway names, so I mute the sound.

   I use Waze for speed limits, roadway condition alerts, traffic, police, etc. It’s been superior there, but it needs to be refined by someone who wears glasses when they used to have “x-ray vision" and has seen more than 3 POTUS election cycles … as a registered voter. when I zoom in to read a street name, the letters need to enlarge.

   appreciate your work … I just returned from a 900 plus mile one way drive. Got a lot of work with this app, and these shortcomings were evident repeatedly.

    Hallo liebes Waze Team,

    ich habe einige Fehler in der App entdeckt und habe ein paar Tipps und Vorschläge für euch.

    Fehler: Unter „Stimme und Ton“ -> „Sprich zum Melden“ lässt sich der Button nicht aktivieren. Er schaltet sich immer wieder auf OFF. Außerdem gibt es bei Apple CarPlay ein Problem: Wenn sich die Route ändert, verlängert oder verkürzt, erscheint unten links eine Anmerkung, die mit $$ beginnt. Ich vermute, dass es sich dabei um einen Bug handelt.

    Vorschläge: Es wäre super, wenn man in der App die Ampel sehen könnte. Das würde das Fahren deutlich sicherer machen, besonders in Großstädten.

    Zusätzlich wäre es hilfreich, wenn man bei Navigationsanweisungen statt Sätzen nur Geräusche hört, wie bei einer Benachrichtigung. Das würde einen dazu bringen, aufs Display zu schauen. Ein Wassertropfen-Geräusch wäre zum Beispiel eine gute Idee. Ich brauche keine Stimme, ich möchte nur geweckt werden, damit ich zu meinem Display schaue.

    Am wichtigsten wäre es jedoch, wenn man über Siri direkt Blitzer melden könnte. Leider hängt die Funktion „Unter Stimme und Ton“ -> „Sprich zum Melden“.

    Das Mikrofon Button bei Carplay, um die Orte zu nennen, reagiert ZU SCHNELL! Und der sound hört sich billig an und die animation sieht verpixelt aus.

    Ich würde mich freuen, wenn ihr mir eine Rückmeldung geben könntet, dass ihr die E-Mail gelesen habt.

12. WiFi for CarPlay/AndroidAuto and Phone for Data

    The key point here is that
    I HAVE NOT SUBSCRIBED TO MY CAR's ONSTAR DATA PLAN

    1. my iPhone is able to connect to the car over WiFi for Apple Car Play
    2. Waze is able to operate through "WiFi Car Play" on my car's infotainment system
    3. This is key: THE CAR DOES NOT HAVE A DATA PLAN. So while I'm connected to the car's local area network (LAN) my phone does not have wide area network (WAN) data through the car's WiFi.
    4. Since the phone is connected to the car over WiFi, Waze thinks it should have WAN data and doesn't try any other method like the phone's 5G connection. Since the WiFi is LAN-only, Waze does not have a voice for turn information and it does not have any crowd-sourced information.

    It would be great if Waze could test for WAN data over WiFi and if it finds there is nothing there it switches to 5G for data. It can stay connected to WiFi for CarPlay, but get the data to operate separately. Maybe you could create an on/off switch for this in the settings so people can choose.

    My only work around is to connect by wire and continue to turn off my phone's WiFi so that it doesn't try to connect to the WiFi CarPlay. If Waze could do Car Play over WiFi and separately data over 5G this would be much better.

    The key point here is that

    How the feature works:

    I would love to suggest a new feature called Emoji Report Library to enhance the Waze experience. This feature will allow users to:
    • Tap “Report Emoji” under the main report button.
    • Access a full emoji library (based on Apple emojis since most people use iPhones and the visuals are familiar).
    • Select any emoji to describe something they want to report (e.g. 💩 for waste on the road, 🐍 for a snake, 🔧 for broken signs, etc).
    • After selecting an emoji, users are shown the map to pin the location of the emoji report accurately.
    • If placed in the wrong spot, the user can tap to edit and adjust the location.

    Why this matters:
    • Emoji reports give users creative and quick ways to describe situations on the road that aren’t covered by current report types.
    • It adds personality and fun to Waze, encouraging more engagement.
    • It helps highlight real-time, unusual situations like:
    • 💩 – waste in the middle of the road
    • 🐢 – slow animal crossing
    • ⚠️ – unclear hazard
    • 🪧 – missing sign
    • 🐍 – snake on the road
    • 🧸 – object dropped from car (toy or item)
    • 🦺 – road worker sighting

    Extra wish:
    I also miss some old reports like:
    • Animal sighted
    • Missing road signs
    •Roadkill

    The emoji reports don't need to have circles surrounding them. They are just simple

    These reports help us be more aware of nature, environment, and safety, so bringing them back would be valuable.

14. In dual screen mode show in main screen the whole route, not just mirror current view

    In dual screen mode (main screen and small screen above steering wheel) show on main screen the whole journey from current position to the destination (the same as Google Maps do). Right now main screen only mirror small view in a different scale.

    There is a wonderful app, called Musi, that plays music directly from YouTube WITHOUT ads. You only pay $7 to remove the onscreen ads, and even then it lasts forever because it’s tied to the account.

    Waze has 3 million reviews on the App Store alone.
    Musi has 3.3 million.

    Could we possibly set it up to attach Musi to Waze?

    First I have been through 2 permanent speed cameras Waze did not warn me about. Although it might say turn in 300 metres, I have no conception of distance and if a few streets are close I don’t know which one and It needs to tell you to turn here about 2 secs earlier then it does I miss streets and need to be in other lanes to turn esp. in the city where there are lots of one way streets and turn only lanes. I’m on iPhone and I hate that it turns off Siri google DOES NOT work on iPhone. It needs to let Apple use Siri. It tells me I’m at the location houses away. It needs to tell you which side of the road it’s on and the number..”you have arrived at 6 bob st, you’re destination is on the left.” Or something when you get there.. I like that it reminds me a few times where I’m going and unlike G maps knows what my turnoff is called.its also louder so I can actually hear it, but I’m not sure it takes traffic into account and reroute around the worst of it.. it will put me in standstill traffic on s highway instead of taking back streets. I can’t plot several locations and decide myself what order to take I have to plot my route in the other app and put it in one by one but the only way I can use this app is if I also run the other app behind it so I have them both talking... to be honest both together are almost perfect but separately they both have issues... you need to be able to report permanent cameras and police etc via voice which may be possible on a google friendly phone, I’m not sure because I will get fined for touching my phone to report things... I don’t like that others can see my speed if I use that part of the app so I can watch my speed. Can authorities access that info ever??? Because I do speed sometimes and I don’t want others seeing or recording my speed...

17. Suggestion for improvements to the charging station search on Waze

    Dear Sir/Madam,
    With the proliferation of electric vehicles, it is crucial to optimize the charging station search on Waze to make it a recommended reference. Below, I propose specific improvements to enhance this feature.

    1. AA CarPlay / Displaying power, not speed status
       Currently, on Android Auto, I notice that Waze displays vague indications ("Fast", "Medium", "Very Fast") rather than the power in kW. I would like the exact power to be indicated to better inform users.

    2. App / Displaying availability on the map
       This feature, which was previously available, has disappeared. I find that displaying the number of free connectors directly on the map when searching for a station via the "Charging Station" tab is visually very useful, and I would like to see it reintroduced.

    3. App / Separate display for 2 different power levels for the same connector

    For example, a station with 8 CCS at 300 kW and 2 CCS at 150 kW is displayed as 10 CCS at 300 kW, which is misleading. I suggest displaying each power level separately with the corresponding number of connectors for greater clarity.

    1. App / Adding a filter
       I suggest adding the following filters to facilitate searching:
       A "restricted" filter to sort stations by their status (public, restricted, private).
       A power filter with three ranges: < 22 kW, 23-99 kW, > 100 kW, or all.
       A filter for stations accepting credit cards, based on the option already checked in the editor.

    2. CarPlay, AA / display the same level of information
       I notice marked differences between Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. On CarPlay, only basic information like the address is displayed, while Android Auto includes location, real-time availability, and services. Similarly, on the mobile app, Android offers filters ("open," "fast charging") that are absent on iOS. I would like to see harmonization for a consistent experience.

    3. App / Sort the proposed networks alphabetically
       In France, the list of operators lacks logic. I propose alphabetical sorting to simplify navigation and avoid confusing users.

    4. AndroidAuto CarPlay / Display the "About Us" section
       Some stations include relevant information in the "About Us" section, but it is not visible on Android Auto or CarPlay. I would like this section to be accessible to enrich the available information.

    Unless it is your day job, and even then, most people faced with an emergency situation either as a victim or a witness, especially in a vehicle, will suffer immense rushes of adrenaline pumping around the body, any injuries invoke confusion as delayed shock sets in.

    Is there/ can there be any rapid single panic-proof (user option selected) - such as 5 second hold of fingers on the screen in two places simultaneously or gyroscopic sudden impact detection via phone or user holds max/min volume buttons at their max point for a duration (viz like Apple power down) - depending on user settings, additionally, such detection automatically engages the phone torch in user chosen: static, various rates of flashing or SOS. An EMS (country specific) CALL single button press, combined with further settings-related onscreen depiction graphics and text of the INCIDENT LOCATION, directions to then be boldly shown in large simplistic unfussy print on the screen- displaying three of the most common used international location descriptors: 1. What Three Words 2. Long/latitude coordinates 3. descriptive language versions e.g. “I am northbound on the XYZ nn miles from the xyz slip road opposite ZYX building “ combined with options such as send via SMS option &/or turn on handset camera (where applicable) to live link the incident scene for disaster planning teams assessments if necessary. Such crisis do not offer those present with clear thought either the victims or witnesses as shock sets in, and by providing easy-read, unfussy screen display, such pinpoint accuracy, that they can recite to the other end of the call, valuable minutes will expedite all emergency services response and potentially save lives and limbs, Most of these suggestions I envisage to be user settings selected as to how the user is automatically impacted with the change of screen in such situations. It could vary from a small overlaid window with just the 3 location options, all the way to a full EMS window with all options and flashing torches. Either way, in an emergency, something will help those present in providing essential location detail in those crucial minutes. If there is to be an option for ‘voice activated control’ then the initial part should be automatic from the AI not the user, in case they are incapacitated or unable to speak; the AI should time-out to non-vocal after a period so anyone in vision of the display can see the location, in case they are unable to move, but can use their own phone to call EMS instead.

20. Adjustable daytime/nighttime mode setting

    So currently the app may not actually switch from daytime mode to nitetime mode with apples default dusk/dawn settings, however an options to choose how long before sunset or after dawn the app switched to/from daylight mode would be good. As an example the light controls on my Hive lamps and bulbs allow me to set them to come on/go off up to an hour before/after sunset or sunrise.
