1. Speed Limit indicators on map

   It would add to safer driving to have speed limit changes show up as standard indicators on the map while driving, meaning seeing them approach just like any other indicator on the map.

   Current issues/reasons:
   1. In South Africa we have many areas where the speed limit road signs are missing. I count four that are missing on my daily route alone, and this is extremely dangerous with frequent sudden braking necessary immediately after realizing the speed limit has changed without prior notice.
   2. There are often speed cameras directly after a speed limit change, which is a nice little dirty trick used by our often-corrupt traffic department officers, with lots of easy to find dashcam footage online to attest to just this one issue.
   3. Better preparation for speed transitions - Advanced warning allows drivers to gradually adjust speed rather than making abrupt changes, which reduces the risk of rear-end collisions from following vehicles.
   4. Unfamiliar route safety - When driving in new areas, drivers may not know local speed limit patterns and could easily miss changes, especially when traffic signs are missing. This is especially important for tourists or business travelers.
   5. Night driving visibility - Speed limit signs can be harder to spot in low-light conditions, while the navigation display remains clearly visible.
   6. Weather-related visibility - During rain, fog, or other weather conditions that reduce visibility, physical signs may be obscured while the digital display remains clear.
   7. Standardized information - Eliminates confusion from damaged, faded, or vandalized speed limit signs that may be difficult to read accurately. Additionally, it is much easier to follow the navigation map when speed limit information is displayed in the familiar indicator format that drivers are already accustomed to using.

   This has previously been suggested very long ago (https://waze.uservoice.com/forums/59223-waze-suggestion-box/suggestions/10519629-speed-limit-indication-on-map), but without much motivation given. The response of the Waze Team was not helpful, as the issues were not addressed. Since this is a safety issue more than a nice-to-have feature (at least in my country), I believe it requires more attention from the developers.

2. SpeedCameras (max speed, time to flash on SpeedCamera, SpeedCamera notify without destination)

   Max Speed on the SpeedCamera:
   - Where you show the Max Speed we need to go, maybe you can show we can go higher than the max speed as there is no speed camera.

   Time to Flash on Speed Camera:
   - It shows close to accurate of how far the speedcamera can see you, maybe an outline of a red circle if your in that small circle don’t pass your max speed.
   - Maybe show lets say the road is max 20 you can go max 22 or 23 and you won’t be flashed.
   - when there is a speedcamera Waze has this countdown on 0.1mile where we click to close the notification, maybe show when we can be flashed and to slow down there, and ofcourse to speed up.

   SpeedCamera without a destination:
   - We really need this, when you don’t have an destination, waze is more or less useless, the speedcamera notification with sound and notification with picture needs to still work and show on the map.
   - it should notify us without having to set a destination.

   Max Speed Sound “beep”
   - We should be able to set if we want 1 beep or 2, got 2 but its annoying I want 1.

   Beeps:
   We should be able to set any notification beeps to how many beeps we want.

   Max Speed on the SpeedCamera:
   - Where you show the Max Speed we need to go, maybe you can show we can go higher than the max speed as there is no speed camera.

   Time to Flash on Speed Camera:

3. Fix speed icons size and location on screen.

   Speed icons are way too small to see. Countries that drive on right side move icons to left side of screen. Know problem for years. Please fix.

4. use speed limits to cap estimated time to destination

   It seems to me that Waze uses the average speed of traffic to estimate the time to the destination of the route selected. However, this is not very useful to me if the average speed of traffic is greater than the legal speed limit. While I may be okay with exceeding the speed limit under certain conditions, I almost always prefer to know how long it will take me to get somewhere if I drive at most the legal limit. From there, I can make my own decision as to what route to take or how fast to drive.

   The problem is that often times, the app will tell me it will only take a certain amount of time to get to a destination, but it won't tell me that it is assuming that I will have to exceed the speed limit to get there in that time. And sometimes, the amount it estimates it will exceed the speed limit by what seems to be about 10-15 mph, which is already plenty fast enough to be pulled over by a cop, and some days, I just don't want to have to deal with that risk.

   It doesn't have to be the only way Waze calculates the estimated time to destination, but I would like it to be at least an option I can select in the menus.

   It seems to me that Waze uses the average speed of traffic to estimate the time to the destination of the route selected. 5. It would be nice to have a map on the client that shows the colorful streets according to the average speed obtained thanks to all the GPS

   It would be nice to have a map on the client that shows the colorful streets according to the average speed of road segments obtained thanks to all the GPS as the live map on the website: yellow above 45 km / h, marron between 45 and 20 km / h, white below 25 km / h, so as to also choose myself the way and everyway understand what type of road is at a glance!

   maybe you could also make sure that the streets are set automatically (only minor, the primary and streets) coloring itself according to Vmedia .. we would solve doubts and work ..
   or at least not to lose the work done so far, have the ability to set a "level" in papyrus (as the roads are not edited in the old cartuche that I would like) showing the color of the roads according to Vmedia.

9. Allow negative speed offset (reduce the speed warning threshold)

   It It would be really helpful if Waze allowed us to adjust the speed offset in both directions — not only to add km/h, but also to subtract.

   In my case, my car’s speedometer consistently shows 5 km/h faster than the real speed shown in Waze/GPS. I tested this many times and it’s always the same difference.

   Because of this, I’d like to set the speed alert to something like:

   ✅ “Warn me when I’m less than 5 km/h below the speed limit”
   (or essentially: allow a -5 km/h offset)

   Right now, Waze only allows adding extra km/h above the limit, but not correcting when the car’s speedometer is inaccurate.

   This would make speed alerts more accurate and useful for many drivers

10. A camera in a public transport lane

    In Israel there are lanes designated only for public transportation, but a vehicle with 3+ or 2+ passengers is allowed to travel in the lane according to the signage.
    They recently installed cameras that automatically count the number of passengers in the vehicle, and I did not find an option to notify the location of this camera.
    Please add the option to notify you of the location of the camera to inform the other passengers.

11. Using the smartphone's front camera for alert about driver's tiredness

    In Android there is a feature named "smart stay" which allows the smartphone to recognize, using the front camera, if the user is watching the screen (in order to turn off the screen when not in use) - see

    I wonder whether it would be possible to create a similar function in Waze, that would recognize (by visually recognizing when the eyes close for longer than a fraction of second) and alert if the driver falls asleep. If this is possible (even partially), it can save lives.

    It would be great if the App could tell you what the current speed limit is.

    Also, if there was a way so that you can block out all notifications on your phone so as to not be distracted by texts, alarms, etc. while driving.

    I would like to propose an additional visual alert system for speed and red-light cameras within Waze. The idea is to introduce a transparent red overlay that flashes on the screen as drivers approach a camera location.

    This feature would serve as a strong visual cue, especially for users who may not always be actively looking at their GPS display or listening to audio directions. The flashing overlay would draw immediate attention and help ensure drivers are more aware of upcoming enforcement zones.

    To keep the experience user-friendly and adaptable, I recommend that this alert be offered as an optional setting within the app, allowing users to enable or disable it according to their preference.

    This enhancement could greatly improve safety and awareness, making Waze even more effective as a real-time navigation and driver assistance tool.

16. Speed limit and gps speed widgets

    Would be very helpful to be able to increase the size of the widgets and select where the display them. I only have a 7 inch screen and cannot see them. Widgets should be on driver's side not passenger side.

18. Speed is not readable that small. Also put the bloody sign into the box for speed camera so i can finally see the limit!

    Need the sign with the number in the box for speed alert box!! So many times i dont know the limit and the alert doesn't help at all!! Use the space that box is massive! Put the sign in it.

19. Abbility to report start & end of SPECS.

    SPECS cameras operate as sets of two or more cameras installed along a fixed route that can be from 200 metres (660 feet) to 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) in length.[3] They work by using an automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) system to record a vehicle's front number plate at each fixed camera site. As the distance is known between these sites, the average speed can be calculated by dividing this by the time taken to travel between two points.[4] The cameras use infrared photography, allowing them to operate both day and night.
