1. Improved Automatic Re-Routing for Traffic Congestion in Waze

   We would like to propose an enhancement to Waze's automatic re-routing feature to provide users with greater control and flexibility when navigating around traffic congestion.

   Currently, Waze offers basic re-routing, but it lacks the ability to:

   Prioritize surface streets or alternate highways/freeways: This would be particularly valuable for users who prefer avoiding congested highways altogether, even if it means a slightly longer route.

   Define granular re-routing preferences: A binary on/off toggle is limiting. We propose options similar to existing route preferences (fastest/shortest) that allow users to:

   Set time windows for re-routing: For example, automatically re-route during known rush hour periods.

   Define exclusion zones for re-routing: Specify areas where re-routing is not desired, even if there is congestion.

   Control re-routing based on Waze user density: Only re-route if a certain number of Wazers are experiencing congestion.

   Utilize combined traffic data: Consider both Waze user data and official traffic monitoring systems for re-routing decisions.

   "Free flow" re-routing: Only re-route to areas with free-flowing traffic

   "Follow the herd" re-routing: Prioritize routes with a higher concentration of Wazers, potentially indicating a faster path.
   These options would allow users to personalize their Waze experience and optimize their commutes based on individual preferences and driving habits.

   We believe this functionality would significantly improve Waze's efficiency and user satisfaction. We encourage the development team to consider this proposal for future updates.

2. Proactive Fuel Station Suggestion

   Dear Waze Team,

   I would like to suggest adding a feature that proactively recommends nearby gas stations after the user has traveled a certain distance, which can be set by the user.

   During long trips, drivers may not always keep track of their fuel level or may forget to refuel in time. This can lead to inconvenient or even risky situations, especially when traveling through areas with limited fuel station availability.

   By allowing users to define a distance threshold (e.g., after driving X kilometers), Waze could automatically suggest the nearest gas stations along the route. This would give drivers more control over their journey and help them avoid running out of fuel.

   Such a feature would enhance trip planning, improve convenience, and contribute to a more reliable driving experience, particularly on long-distance routes.

4. Fix Road Closure selecting

   I am a traffic controller and I try to accurately report what roads are closed for the safety of the workers and convenience of others. Most the time I can't even report the street that's closed as the app won't let me select them. It will only do main roads or the roads that are next to the road I want to select. You also have to physically be on the road to select them which is another issue as I can't really leave my post to walk to each road to select them. It's very frustrating. If I could just draw on the screen the roads that are closed life would be so much easier. I would add a photo to show the problem but it doesn't seem to give that option here on feedback. Nor does it show the date ideas were posted. That would also be helpful. 6/24/24

6. Problem with newest update

   Hello.
   I would like to give some feedback regarding latest Android auto update:
   New ui is worse than old one. First way old speedometer worked was better (it was smaller and it only showed speed limit when going above the limit (and showed points around the circle as you approached speed limit). That was much better than current one.
   Second thing is that new Drive now feature and other text messages on app are too big and take up too much screen from the map.
   Also, forcing dark mode for messages is not a great ux choice since it can be hard to read during sunny days (also, it's bad in contrast to light mode map, specially during the day). It would be great if you could revert it back to light mode when map is in light mode and dark when map is in dark mode.
   Thirdly, whenever I am parked, waze thinks I'm driving and I can't search for destination in search box on car's screen (I have to disconnect phone, type in destination on phone and then reconnect phone to car (voice controls don't work fine since I don't live in English speaking country and lot of places don't have English sounding names and voice recognising struggles with place names)). Just to make sure that it wasn't a car issue, I tried same feature on google maps and it works fine there.

   For reference, car where I use waze is 2019 Kia Rio (for European market)
   It would be great if you would give option of choosing between old UI and new UI along side with fixing Search bar bug (Also, every once in a while when using the app while parked it gives me that safety break thing even though I am parked, and also I can't go to info menu and it only says that is it unavailable while driving (although I am parked and hand break is up, and gearbox is in neutral (manual car (Kia rio 2019)) (also, forgot to mention that the car is a manual with manual hand break, if that gives you some insight))

7. Rajouter 20 secondes pour valider ou non la presence des signalements ( controle, objets, véhicule arrêté...) pas le temps de bien regarder.

   Pouvez-vous rajouter du temps pour valider ou non la présence d'un événement. Une bonne vingtaine de secondes serait vraiment bien.

   Hola equipo de Waze,
   Quiero hacerles una sugerencia respecto a las opciones de reporte en carretera. Actualmente, cuando los usuarios queremos señalar la presencia de autoridades, solo aparece la categoría de “policía”, pero en países como Colombia también existen los agentes de tránsito, que cumplen funciones distintas y cuya presencia es igualmente importante para los conductores.

   Considero que sería muy útil para la comunidad de Waze que se incluya una opción específica llamada “agente de tránsito”, de manera que los usuarios podamos diferenciar entre ambas autoridades. Esto no solo aportaría mayor precisión en la información compartida, sino que también fortalecería la seguridad vial y ayudaría a los conductores a estar mejor informados en carretera.

   En Colombia ambos roles son necesarios, pero no significan lo mismo:

   Policía: se relaciona más con controles de seguridad y orden público.

   Agente de tránsito: está enfocado en la movilidad, infracciones viales y regulación del tráfico.

   La posibilidad de diferenciarlos mejoraría la experiencia de los usuarios y la calidad de los reportes. Sería un pequeño cambio con gran impacto positivo en la aplicación.

9. Pop-up banners hijack CarPlay functionality

   Trying again...

   Navigation pop-up banners hijack the functionality of other CarPlay apps. Whenever a Waze banner pops up, it overrides the ability to select any other function in CarPlay. It complicates the simplicity & minimal distraction for which CarPlay is designed. My car has a joystick knob to scroll through & select a CarPlay function, & there is no way to stop these banners from popping up. Turning the knob a click, or selecting one of the console buttons hides the banner for a fraction of a second, but the banner keeps incessantly popping up. When I move my cursor to select a desired function in other apps outside of Waze & quickly get my eyes back on the road, the banner pops up again & clicking selects it instead of what I selected, which takes me back to the Waze app (even while sitting at a red light). Please add an option to control the frequency of pop-up banners, or make them informational only & not an active button that can be selected.

10. Bring back the helicopter tank now!

    Dear Waze.. where do you get off? Taking away helicopter take was like taking away freedom from us Americans. How dare you take away that sweet beautiful helicopter tank of mine. Do you know what grinds my gears ways you and your absurd obsession with taking control of my GPS in map needs. Take this as an act of aggression and war will follow. Mess with the bull ha ha you’re about to find out where these horns can go and let me tell your partner I don’t think you’re gonna enjoy it very much. It doesn’t have to be like this Waze we can sign a peace treaty and go back to being a happy couple that only has sex every three months when the babysitter can watch the kids if you can just bring back the helicopter tank please bring back my sweet helicopter tank please Waze I’m begging you. 11. Caravan Mode / Follow Me Mode

    I've been thinking in a new mode for Wazers... I've been driving with family along the road in different vehicles, not once we've been able to keep the same speed or pace and we end loosing sight of where the vehicles are. In Mexico safety its a very important matter, and everytime we are not able to see where the other cars that are driving with us we call them or text them to see if everything is fine. I imagine a Caravan Mode in which multiple Waze accounts are linked for a trip and you can watch the vehicles listed in the CarPlay in a vertical sideway explaining things such as: amount of vehicles in the caravan, distance between one and another, if the vehicle is moving or stopped. Every vehicle will be able to post some special status, such as: Stop we are OK, Back on driving, SOS, etc... if we have this status next to the regular Waze display we will assure calm on everyone because we all will have visibility on where are the remaining vehicles and the distances between the next one. If the caravan is loosing the last vehicle someone can reduce the speed to accompany the last car. Everything to make it happen its already in control of Waze, speed, location, etc. It will make driving so much safe and with more detail on the other vehicles on the journey

    Hi Team,

    I’d like to propose a feature suggestion that could improve safety and routing flexibility for many drivers.

    Right now, if users want to include a specific street or road segment on the way to a destination, the only workaround is to add it as a stop/waypoint. This creates a “stop” that the driver must manually confirm has been reached before continuing navigation. In real driving scenarios, having to interact with the phone to confirm an intermediate stop especially on busy roads can be unsafe.

    What I’m suggesting is a native “Pass Through” or “Via Street” routing option that:
    Lets the user specify a street segment or point to pass through on the route
    Integrates that requirement into the route calculation without turning it into a separate stop
    Continues voice-guided navigation normally without requiring driver interaction to confirm intermediate target points on the way

    Benefits of this feature include:
    Increased safety by reducing in-app confirmation taps while driving
    Greater route control for users with fixed preferences (like known scenic or safer roads)
    More predictable navigation experience for routes that include desired intermediate paths

19. Gui issue

    In an average speed controlled area the speed is partially obscured by the average speed zone indicator.
    When a speed control camera is approached especially at the start of the zone, the vehicle speed is TOTALLY OBSCURED by the speed camera warning.!!
    This is really annoying as this is the EXACT moment when speed awareness is critical !!

    I suggest a controller layout.
    Where when you are in drive mode you can swipe to the right and have massive buttons.
    Customisable buttons with customisable actions.
    Most importantly a report speed camera button or police or construction.

    You swipe right and you can have a robot layout
    3 buttons.
    Or a controller top right bottom left layout.
    And customisable and different actions to it.
    1. Speed camera.
    2. Record audio for later.
    3. Skip song
