1. improve Speeding Alerts

   Could the speed indicator be improved in this way: Right now, the speeding icon stays white up to the speed limit, then as soon as 1 mph over, it goes red. I have my alert threshold set to 10% over the speed limit. I would prefer if the speeding icon does not go red until that 10% overage is exceeded. Otherwise the icon would be red most of the time, as most people drive a few mph over the speed limit. And having it red most of the time defeats the warning. It only needs to go red when speeding over the set threshold. Another reason is, I cannot actually read the numbers of the speed indicator as Waze makes them too small to read without reading glasses and I'm not putting on reading glasses while driving. I can see the color change though. If you believe that the color must change immediately, could you make it go from white to orange when the posted limit is exceeded and then change to red when the set overage limit (the 10% in my case) is exceeded?

2. Temporary recording of speed and location

   Please add a setting where you can record the last 2-5-10 minutes of a commute with speed, location and a timestamp. This could allow us to help defend ourselves against police errors. Ive been pulled over twice this year on the highway whit the cruise set to 120kph and the police told me they snapped me a 138 and 130 witch is not possible. It would be nice to have some kind of proof to back me up in the future. People could set this up when creating the account or even disable it for more speed in the app but people like me could use the temporary file to avoid abuse

3. Option to turn off alerts for speed cameras on regularly traveled roads

   It is helpful to have speed camera alerts on roads you’re new to or rarely travel on.

   However it’s disruptive when you get alerts for speed cameras you regularly pass while commuting.

   Using basic pattern recognition software on regular routes drivers could be provided the option to turn off camera alerts for the specific route(s).

4. Display actual GPS speed and not car’s info

   When connected to CarPlay the speed on the supposedly gps speed in Waze always shows a 1km/h difference compared to that on the speedometer (at least in my case)
   When NOT connected to CarPlay the difference is larger. At 90 km/h on the speedometer the speed in Waze is 85 km/h and at 140 the speed on Waze is 130. (Actual GPS speed)
   When connecting to CarPlay a message says that the phone will use selected data from the car and this includes the car’s speed. However, this value is not accurate.
   My request is for me to be able to choose whether or not to use car’s data or the data from my phone’s gps. I know this is not exclusive to Waze and is present in every app with some kind of speed value, so it’s not up to you for fixing it, but I’ll take my chance :)

6. Opposite speed camera reporting and differentiate between front and rear facing speed cameras

   Suggestion 1:
   Sometimes, when driving, there is a police officer with a camera on the opposite side of the road. However, the app doesn’t have an option to report a “camera on the opposite side,” so we are forced to mark it as “police on the opposite side.” It would be helpful to have a specific option for reporting such cases.

   Suggestion 2:
   Speed cameras generally fall into two categories: those that measure speed from the front of the vehicle and those that measure it from the rear. It would be great if Waze could distinguish between these two types so drivers can be aware of the kind of speed camera they are approaching

9. The vehicle speed set to 0 and map display jumps on GPS blinds spots

   The Speed Problem:
   I noticed that when the car enters a cave my speed per hour gets reset back to 0 and when I leave the cave it goes back.

   Plus - The Map Display Problem:
   When I get inside the cave the map display feature of the car/arrow icon stops working:
   (the car/arrow icon would stop moving and then jump back to the end of the cave when I leave).

   I believe that the map feature and speed is working by gps to locate the vehicle location and time to calculate the speed which makes the car km/h / m/h to be not accurate:
   Meaning that when I enter a blind spot from gps, the car location won't be changed and the map display of the car would just stay put ,
   Plus - When the car location is not changing then the cars speed would be set to 0 by the calculation cause it's using only the location change over time.

   My solution to this problem is to make an option which you can take the speed from the car itself without having the trouble of calculating it yourself. -

   Most people of this time have already made the switch to electric vehicles which have the base "computer" inside of them which shows the driver their speed and allows them to download certain apps to their vehicle such as Spotify and Itunes.
   Plus - For some of those vehicles the Waze app could be added.
   Meaning that the Waze app would be able to request from the car the ability to track its speed.

   With this solution we can find out exactly at what speed the car is driving at all times without worrying about calculations.

   With this information we can also know roughly the exact location of the car.
   How do we do it?
   Simple. We just take the speed of the car and multiply it with the time that has passed.
   For example:
   Speed = 90km/h
   We would place a constant variable for the Time to be 1 Second that would not change ( it would mean that the map display would change every 1 second)
   Then:
   We calculate it by this equation:
   Distance = Speed in km/h * Time in hours

   For our example:
   First we need to change it from km/h to m/h:
   90 / 3.6 = 25 m/s
   Then Distance = Speed * Time:
   Distance = 25m/s * 1s
   Distance = 25 meters

   After that we can know the distance the car traveled the past second, and we can add it to the map along the road.
   And I know what you all think.
   WHAT IF the Car driver choose to reverse or change a path in the middle of the road.
   And that's why this function would ONLY work where there is no connection to GPS, and then when we get back connection to GPS the car would jump back to the location from the GPS.

   There for we can now know the exact location of the car on the road, Plus - we can know its speed at any given time(NOTE: This feature could replace the current way of speed tracking on any road).

   Another Solution IF we can't use the vehicle speed:
   We can also use the vehicle speed for the past 5 seconds before going into the blind spot + use other cars past records speeds of driving in that road and the speed numbers of vehicle users there are on the same road at the moment, and get the average speed of all of them.
   The way we can know the speed of vehicle users who drove this road in the past?:
   Simple,
   we just do the exact same equation from before just placing the time as the time they spent on the road and the distance of the road.

   And then we know the speed and we can find the location of the vehicle on the map just like we did before.

10. SPLIT: I don’t like that others can see my speed

    I don’t like that others can see my speed if I use that part of the app so I can watch my speed. Can authorities access that info ever??? Because I do speed sometimes and I don’t want others seeing or recording my speed...

11. Allow user to adjust the speed of audio/TTS annoucements (0.5x, 0.8x, 1x, 1.5x, 2x)

    Spotify and YouTube allow users to control the speed of audios or videos.

    You can play audios or videos at speeds of 0.5x, 0.8x, 1x, 1.5x, 2x and 3x.

    I suggest the same should apply to Waze.

    Audio or TTS announcements could be faster or slower depending on the user's preferences.

13. Speed trap vs police monitoring construction area.

    I would like for a way to distinguish between police out for a speed trap and those that are out monitoring a construction zone. Many times people list police out but they are blocking a freeway exit or something else and aren't trying to hand out speeding tickets

14. Speed / red light camera alerts announced too early on local steeets

    Speed / red light camera alerts are announced too early on local steeets currently.
    Most of the time, the alert is announced over 750m away. And on local streets, it is very likely that there there would be multiple other intersections before reaching it. So by the time the actual camera location is reached, the alert is already forgotten.
    Please make it so that the camera alerts are announced closer to the actual camera while on city streets (around 200 - 250m). Or add a second alert when "approaching speed / red light camera", in addition to the current one so that it's not forgotten.
    Ideally, Waze would be smart enough to use the speed of the car to calculate the best time to announce the alert so that there would be just the right amount of time for the driver to take action.

15. Speed is not readable that small. Also put the bloody sign into the box for speed camera so i can finally see the limit!

    Need the sign with the number in the box for speed alert box!! So many times i dont know the limit and the alert doesn't help at all!! Use the space that box is massive! Put the sign in it.

16. Conditional use of toll roads if saves more than set percentage of time

    I live in Northern Virginia (US) where we have a growing network of high occupancy toll (HOT) lanes paralleling existing roads. These come up as separate roads in Waze as they have their own on ramps and off ramps. Just to make them more fun, they have variable tolling so when traffic is more congested on the "free" lanes the toll lanes cost goes higher. The speed limit is also higher on the toll lanes so they always come out as preferred over the regular lanes for navigation.

    The current Waze app allows selection to avoid or not avoid toll roads. This won't work for a commute like mine being that part of my drive goes on a regular toll road as the alternate route would take twice as long for the given segment of my drive. For the segment of my drive where the HOT lanes are present, there are cases when I would prefer to use those lanes being that if there is a major incident in the regular lanes the HOT lanes can save a considerable amount of time.

    This could be addressed if Waze had an option such as "Prefer toll road if saves over threshold percent of time" where the percent can be set to a driver's preference. Best would be if this can be calculated on segments of the drive rather than just the entire drive. By calculating on segments the first part of my drive would stay on the toll road as that part would be over the set percentage if I took an alternate route. For the second part of my drive the navigation would be able to send me to the regular or HOT lanes based on traffic conditions.

    Other's have suggested using cost based preference, using a toll road if it will cost under a set amount. This won't work for the HOT lanes because of their variable tolling when the cost to use the road can vary significantly throughout the day.

    "Estimated TIME in Traffic Jam NN-minutes" message should be extended with jam distance, like "Estimated TIME in Traffic Jam 10 minutes in 3 kilometers"

18. Past Reports of Mobile Speed Cameras Alert

    With the recent addition of giving an alert to the user when a certain area has a "History of Accidents". Something similar should be done with mobile speed cameras where an alert comes up stating that the certain area that the user has entered has had previous reports of mobile speed cameras vans. I dont just mean being able to report Mobile Speed Cameras, as that already exists. I'm talking about an alert popping up as there has been numerous reports, can be from the day before to a month before.

19. Enable speed and associated icons to be placed on the left or the right side of the navigation screen at drivers discretion

    Currently speed icons only display on right side of navigation screen. I drive a right hand drive car and speed icons are obscured by steering wheel and indicator stalks. It would be nice to have option to display the icons on the left or the right side of navigation screen at driver's discretion to facilitate clearer display depending on car navigation screen installed position.
