1. Enable Speech-to-Text for Map Update Requests While Driving (via Android Auto and CarPlay)

   I would like to suggest an improvement to Waze that would allow users to fill out map update requests (URs) using speech-to-text while driving, particularly when connected through Android Auto or CarPlay.

   Currently, when users select a map update option (such as "Incorrect address," "Missing road," or "Speed limit") while driving, there is no way to add a description of the issue. This limits the ability to provide detailed reports and often results in incomplete information being submitted. With speech-to-text functionality, users could quickly and safely dictate descriptions of the problem without having to stop or manually type anything.

   For example:

   General error: "There’s a detour due to roadwork on Main Street."

   Missing road: "There’s a road missing between Maple Ave and Pine St."

   Speed limit: "The speed limit is 60 on Highway 10, not 45."

   Incorrect address: "The address for 123 Oak St should be 125 Oak St."

   This feature would not only make reporting map issues easier and more detailed, but it would also ensure that users can submit accurate information safely while driving. By integrating speech-to-text, Waze could enhance its mapping accuracy without distracting drivers from the road.

2. Allow us to leave navigation instructions on but turn of voice alerts. I’m sick of having to hear about every car stopped on the side of the

4. Stop using last direction of travel for assumed start direction of new trip

   Waze should not make assumptions like the direction my vehicle is facing for a new trip based on the direction it was facing when the last trip completed. 1) I have a driveway so I rarely park on the street in the direction I was last traveling while guided by Waze. 2) When I am going home I do not have my actual address stored in Waze, rather one 5-6 homes before my address so I continue past the address which Waze thinks is my home destination. 3) Another reason Waze should not assume my direction of last travel is that I do not ALWAYS use Waze, therefore Waze has no way to know in what direction I last traveled.
   
   At the least Waze should make this a user selectable option.

5. Need another set address besides just work and home

   i think there needs to be another set address (for randomness people do on a day to day basis), besides just Work and Home. everyday i drive to my childs daycare before i go to work and when i leave work. i would love for Waze to stop suggesting im on my way home before i can re-set it to daycare.

6. Integrate with retail location finders

   Can you integrate with web or native app location finders to help add a stop or diversion en route? For instance integrate with the Starbucks location finder to indicate where the nearest Starbucks is on my current route (ahead of me, not behind), so I can divert there. Could be Home Depot, Movie Theater, etc. Perhaps look for installed apps on setup?

10. Stop telling us how to live our lives

    I had stopped using Waze because it seemed to like to tell me how to live my life. I gave it another try after months, and, amazing, no asking me if I'm a passenger, no telling me to socially distance or stop traveling. Did they learn their lesson or is this just a phase? Have they decided to just be a good GPS app now and not the social police?

11. Stop auto re-routing to save nominal time.

    Perhaps the greatest problem with Waze is when the inconvenience of taking a nonstandard route is not proportional to the time savings the new route provides. All too often I’m taken on an insane route in comparison to the normal one just to save two minutes.

    I would like to prevent Waze from automatically rerouting (or suggesting an alternative “best route”) unless the new route saves 10 minutes of the total “mainstream” route time.

    Perhaps people could choose different thresholds for reroutes.

    I hate it when all of a sudden I’m rerouted in traffic on the highway to take the next exit in half a mile and I struggle to get over in bumper-to-bumper traffic just to find out I’m getting off the highway and back on the highway to save 60 seconds.

12. More re-routing flexibility

    I would love to specify how open i am to re-routing before a journey - i.e. being able to choose ‘reroute automatically - get me there ASAP’ or ‘don’t reroute without confirmation - prefer my route where possible.’

    Why: I drive a specific one of two ways out of my city when taking a long journey because while the other road is technically faster if you drive at the speed limit it is also dangerous and has poor surface conditions. This means in reality it is slower and stressful. If I do not manage to cancel the re-routing in time, I then have to either try to select an alternative route on my CarPlay (not advisable driving at 60mph on winding country roads), or stop the car to reinstate what I told it before I set off.

    This app is becoming frustrating to use. Every time I select ‘no toll,’ it automatically changes to toll as I’m driving and by then it’s already to late to go back onto no toll.

    Hiding the alternative routes process and replacing with an unlabeled icon was not helpful. Also, where did the option to see an overview of your drive go?

16. Look up and add a stop on planned route for coffee, food or gas.

    While on a planned route, have the option to select food, coffee, gas that is shown on the planned route, in the direction you are driving.

17. Traffic reports should end at logical intersection

    Traffic reports should end at the next logical intersection: I am active with reporting traffic, because I hope the people leaving after me benefit from the reports. The cars stopped on the road don't care about the map editor and, most times, the traffic is at least running through to the next intersection.

    That being said, MANY of my traffic reports stop randomly due to the segments drawn in the map editor. This is illogical.

    (I get 'yelled at' for multiple reports when I try to update the true distance of the dead-stop traffic and this would be an easy way to alleviate the issue. It would also provide a more accurate picture of where the cars are stopped.

18. Allow Preference for Open Road Tolling (no more "Exit Cash Lanes" directions)

    I'm getting very tired of being told to "Exit to Cash Lanes" only to be navigated right back onto the same tollway. Best I can figure, Waze is trying to avoid you getting a ticket for driving through open road tolling areas (at least here in northern Illinois on I-294) by telling you to exit to cash lanes, but there should be an option to tell Waze you have a transponder and are good to go for open road tolling (and the app will stop telling you to exit at every open road tolling area).

    The problem with just ignoring the prompt every time is that some exits are only accessible by going through the cash lanes, and if you failed to use the cash lanes, you miss the exit (which the app won't tell you until after you missed it).

19. One Click Button

    To make Waze more hands free and safe, please add a "Vehicle on the side of road" button on the main map. One tap notifications will help drivers quickly notify the community of stopped vehicles and will allow less app usage while driving. it currently takes several taps to mark a stopped vehicle.
