Request for Full BMW iDrive 7 Integration (Cluster + HUD Support via CarPlay & Android Auto)
Hello Waze Team,
I’m writing as a dedicated Waze user and BMW owner who strongly believes that Waze deserves full integration into the driver’s cockpit — not just the center screen.
I currently use Waze on a BMW G20 330i xDrive (2021, iDrive 7) with the latest versions of iOS + CarPlay and Android + Android Auto (tested on both platforms). At this time, navigation only appears on the main display, while the instrument cluster and head-up display (HUD) remain inactive — which limits driver comfort, focus, and overall safety.
I would like to formally request that Waze enable support for showing navigation directions, turn-by-turn prompts, and police/speed-camera alerts directly on the instrument cluster and HUD, similar to how BMW’s native navigation system — and some competitor apps — already do.
This feature would allow drivers to keep their eyes on the road and hands on the wheel, perfectly aligning with Waze’s mission of safer and smarter driving. Many BMW owners (especially those using iDrive 7 and iDrive 8) are actively asking for this enhancement, and it would represent a significant leap forward for Waze’s ecosystem on both CarPlay and Android Auto.
Please forward this request to your product development or automotive integration team, and kindly let me know if there’s a roadmap or beta program planned for this functionality.
Thank you for taking this seriously. I genuinely hope that Waze will soon provide full HUD and cluster integration for BMW drivers worldwide.
Best regards,

Offer routes that avoid speed bumps
My very low ride height requires me to avoid speed bumps on roads. I need an app that will navigate me in routes that avoid these. Can Waze incorporate such an idea?
37 votesGreat thinking! We’ll share with the team; they’re always interested in new feature ideas.

Continue straight on highway
Recently my Waze has been telling me to continue straight on highways every time I drive passed an exit. While the “continue straight” feature is helpful for major highway intersections, I find the continuous updates to “continue straight” to be distracting while driving.

COVID-19 Outbreak Tracking
Provide daily COVID-19 Outbreak Tracking. Your app should display red shaded bubbles over areas with outbreaks, with the bubble size proportional to the outbreak size. For example right now on March 19, 2020, there would be a large shaded red bubble over New York City. This would correspond to the current outbreak in New York city, and advise motorist to avoid this area as a stopover or even as a drive-through. This could help motorists avoid contamination and/or travel delays in the future if there are “containment “ areas. (You could get the data feed from John’s Hopkins or others)

Voice for the Starship Enterprise - Majel Barrett
Majel Barrett
If it seems like every Starfleet ship and station in the Star Trek universe has a computer with the same voice, you’re not imagining things. Majel Barrett, the wife of Gene Roddenberry, was the voice of the computer in many of the original episodes of Star Trek as well as Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, five of the Star Trek films, two episodes of the prequel series Star Trek: Enterprise, and various computer games and software related to the franchise.
Barrett, Gene Roddenberry’s girlfriend at the time, appeared in Star Trek’s first pilot episode (“The Cage”) as the first officer, Number One. She then went on to voice the computer, appeared in the recurring role of Nurse Christine Chapel, and in later incarnations of the show, played the Betazoid ambassador Lwaxana Troi. Barrett was a lifelong fan and devotee of the show and never missed the chance to attend Star Trek conventions to spend time with fans. Barrett continued to work on material for the franchise over her entire life and completed the voice-acting work for 2009’s Star Trek relaunch just days before her death at the age of 76.

Keep Santa Claus voice all year round
I’m a recent Waze User - started using Waze just before Christmas - I just love the Santa Claus voice - so funny and upbeat- I put it on even though I know where I’m going
This morning I am all set to have Santa guide me to work and he’s gone,
The other voices are so boring - I’m sorry to say - and that Boy Band voice is the most annoying

Place Photos
To report a Place via the client, the user is required to first take a photo before entering any details.
This process should be changed as it:
discourages Wazers from adding a Place if it is dark/raining or other factors prevent them from taking a satisfactory photo, and;
results in ineffective photos (blurry, dark, inappropriate) being added which do not fulfil the intended purpose of assisting other Wazers to identify the Place.
Making Photos optional when adding a Place, and adding the ability to upload from the Camera Roll/Computer/etc, would improve the Waze map by enabling Wazers to add Places without a photo, and increasing the number of quality photos.
