  1. Try out different voices

    It would be awesome, if you could listen to the different voices before choosing one. I can only listen to the voice I chose when I am driving and that’s just not practical I think.

  3. Auto-pause voice-nav-alert prompts based on GPS speed

    While temporarily stopped for fuel, groceries, restroom breaks, it's annoying to hear turn left at State Road 19 navigation prompts from my back pocket. Can you automatically silence voice prompts based on gps speed? Of course this would need to be a user preference config. I saw a manual pause feature request, but I imagine drivers would get annoyed if they forget to re-enable it. The tech exists to auto-pause / auto-resume.

  4. Have voice speak "Heavy" or "Moderate" or "Standstill" traffic ahead.

    Need to have verbal notification of heavy, moderate and standstill traffic ahead. Not safe to look down at phone to see traffic ahead

    Hey,   

    Please note we're changing the status of this suggestion to Not right now, since we finalized our plans for 2023 and this idea won't be implemented this year. We hope to have it included in our plans for later years and will keep you posted. Thanks!

  6. waze voice reporting issue

    After the last two updates, when I have my phone plugged in, the "speak the error function doesn't work as well on Android Auto. The music doesn't pause and it'll take a minute to process. It only really started functioning this way after the "big arrow issue" got fixed on Android Auto.

  7. Navigate to a saved place using voice command in android with google assistant

    Navigate to a saved place using voice command in android with google assistant on Samsung S22 phone. For example, if I have a friend named Jim and enter his address as a saved place in waze and name it "Jim". Then shouldn't I be able to open waze and say: "Ok google, drive to Jim". When I do that now, google assistant responds with "Sorry I don't understand". Isn't that a pretty basic functionality? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

  8. Supportive Encouraging Voice for When You're Having a Rough Day or Just Because

    I personally loved when "Mr. T."'s (kind of hard/abusive) voice was a choice. But a friend just mentioned how she would really love having a voice that was more supportive -- saying things like "don't worry, it's OK... you'll make it" (even if you take a wrong turn, for example). I thought a lot of people might appreciate that! For every day or maybe even for a particularly rough day.

  11. Country-based voices sorting

    Why do users have to scroll an incredibly long list to choose which voice should guide them? How many users frequently use another language for their voices in the client?
    Let's make the list country-based or, at least, configurable.

    For example: I'm Italian, I would like to have the three ITA voices on top of the list, but maybe you can't change the list based on positioning, so let give me the opportunity to sort my favourite voices manually on top!

  13. Request to Improve Malay‑Road‑Name Pronunciation in English Voice Guidance

    Dear Waze Team,

    I would like to suggest an improvement to Waze’s voice navigation for users in Malaysia:
    Currently, many Malaysian road names (e.g., “Jalan Tun Razak”, “Lingkaran Syed Putra”, “LEKAS”) are often mispronounced when using the English‑language voice, even though the spelling is correct. This can be confusing when driving because the spoken name does not match the local way people say it.
    I would like to request that Waze:
    1. Improve the English‑voice TTS engine to better handle common Malay‑language road‑name patterns (Jalan, Lebuhraya, Persiaran, etc.), so they sound closer to how Malaysians actually say them.…

  17. Roll back to last usable version (fixing voice command and display issues)

    The recent update added the gimmicky split-screen feature at the expense of everything that made the app usable. Until you can fix the following, please roll back to the last non-coolwalk version:
    • Google Assistant voice commands do not work
    • Speed limit is too small to see
    • "Time Remaining in drive" is missing

    I would also like you to rethink the decision of replacing all the icons with ugly little black pills, but that isn't really a technical problem in need of a fix.

  18. Specific reporting should not be exclusive to voice reports

    I and many others refuse to use voice assistants. I personally find it much more distracting/focus breaking. It's a personal choice.

    If some people wish for simpler ux, that is fine, however the option to coherently and fully report animals, a vehicle stopped on the ROAD, etc etc, must be available to all users. If there is a dormant "enable classic reports" switch, please enable it, alongside map chat and comments, which is at this point unusable anyways. The feature is (was) especially useful for the shotgun passenger.
