"choke buster" mode aka (lambs to the slaughter) (also "no right on red" avoidance)
Problem: I see a lot of wazers all jump off the freeway or arterial route only to get stuck on the same surface streets.
I see this happen:
The scenario is heavy traffic on a major thoroughfare.
Several cars all take the same obscure turn off the main road (Geary) onto the tricky alternate route (eg. Steiner) only to end up fourth or tenth at a four way stop, effectively defeating the "short cut" and suddenly ETA upticks minute by minute. Aargh! : )So. I'd suggest Waze should monitor in real time as the "pulse" of traffic either flows…

Hi, it would be fine if I could decide when waze should come with alternative route.
Now if there is traffic jam it comes with alternative even if it would 5 minutes difference. A setting in which I define when to calculate an alternative route, like time to > 30min, would great.
Kind regards

Innovative collision warning system for Waze
Here's an award-winning innovation to reduce road accidents and anticipate traffic conjestion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Tws6tho924. As Waze already uses GPS and connects drivers in real-time, the integration of this collision warning system will be groundbreaking for Waze. What do you say?

he Washington State Department of Transportation now provides real-time toll rates for the I-405 express toll lanes as a publicly available
The Washington State Department of Transportation now provides real-time toll rates for the I-405 express toll lanes as a publicly available live data stream for software developers. The API is publicly available here: http://wsdot.wa.gov/traffic/api/ , along with several other live data streams including traffic flow, travel times, and highway cameras.
We would love to see this data integrated into the Waze app to help drivers make more informed choices about their route options.
The I-405 express toll lanes let drivers choose a more reliable trip by paying a toll on weekdays from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Toll…
4 votesThank you for your suggestion! As you may know, Waze calculates and displays toll prices in many parts of the world. To know when this becomes available in your country, stay tuned on Waze’s social pages on Facebook and Instagram

Map
It is too hard to see the traffic delays, speed of the tragic on particular roads, what kind of hazard is being reported. The map before this was very user friendly and it was super easy to glance at the map and decide which areas/roads to avoid. Now I have to really analyze the map and bring the map into zoom so much that the road names are no longer listed. I now check the other apps to glance over the traffic and rely less on Waze

Having a paid version
I would like a version with better graphics and more details like the image of the road sign and auto zoom when approaching an exit.
For this I bought Sygic. For day to day traffic I use Waze but when going to an unknown area I have to use Sygic11 votes -
Add a "turning" camera in addition to red light and speeding cameras.
Ocean Parkway, Brooklyn, NY has at least two cameras to ticket drivers that make a turn where there is a "no left turn" sign. Perhaps waze can add an option for such cameras.

Edit Hazard Reports
Often I just click hazard because I'm driving & don't want to miss the exact location.
It would be good if you could go back & edit the hazard when stopped (ie at traffic lights) to add info such as broken down car, elephant on road, elves in bushes etc so other Waze users had a better understanding of what hazard to look out for3 votes -

Allow for Swipe gesture to be customizable
The current swipe gesture only allows for traffic to be reported. However, I run across 'car on the shoulder' more often than traffic. Allowing individuals to customize the swipe gesture would allow Waze to be tailored to the surroundings of the individual.

Add stoplights and stop signs. It makes calculating your next turn much easier to figure out while driving in unfamiliar territory.
It is much easier to calculate your next turn when you have a landmark like a stop light or stop sign.

On commute mute turn by turn direction BUT announce incidents (accidents, caps, speed camera. Etc.)
If you drive the same route every day (as many people do ) you will not need to hear the turn by turn direction but do need advance warning of incidents ie: cop ahead, slow down in traffic, speed camera ahead etc. right now the only option is all or nothing in the (Setting-sound- navigate guidance) menu. it would also limit the number of times Waze interrupts on ongoing phone call. Thus making app even. MORE DESIRABLE!

Routing overview
I would like a routing overview option to easily access when driving for two reason:
1: For longer routes to see were I am in the country.
2: For shorter routes to have an overview of the traffic situations. This option could be a button directly on the map, maybe as an option to turn on/off from Settings or as an option in the pop up window where the mute, stop navigation, navigation list and recalculate route are.
49 votesPossibilities:
- check next turns list by clicking on the directions panel on the top, select ‘next turns’ tab
- check reports on the route by clicking on the directions panel on the top, select ‘reports ahead’ tab
- check map view of your route by clicking on ETA bar at the bottom, select ‘Routes’ and then ‘map view’ -
Have Waze automatically detect your speed on major roads
I drive the same busy highway every morning (I-64) here in the Hampton Roads of Virginia. A major section of it is under construction. Instead of passengers and/or drivers taking their eyes off the road to manually enter moderate/heavy/standstill traffic, it would be nice for Waze to automatically detect it and publish it to the map since there are enough people using Waze in this area. I'm sure an algorithm can be written that can detect Wazers within a 1-5 mile radius that are traveling at a particular speed and be able to automatically display the 'traffic speed'…

Trafic Bar
When you are in traffic (when the road is orange or red), have a small info popup that let you know how many miles of trafic is still ahead. This way, you would give you an idea of how long you will be stuck that and it will enable you to take a better decision if you change road or stay in traffic.

Commute Mode
I would love to be able to set up a commute with stops. Maybe ask a few questions like:
How many stops do you have on your commute (kid drop off, passenger pick up for carpooling, coffee)?
Does your destination ever change? Be able to have different commute profiles.
Then ask how long you are at each stop normally.
If it is the normal route, then it will only warn you of traffic slows or hazards.
Bonus- If I am running late, set up someone to notify, husband or daycare provider ect.

Mandorections "This is the way"- A Star Wars theme for Waze!
A feature that takes popular transportation scenario quotes from the Star Wars Franchise that voices over the "starting route to" phrase. This add on is relevant due to the huge fan support of the new Disney Mandalorian show. This would engage users and would be a fun, nostalgic way to get to your destination.

Danger level routes
Hi there,
I love Waze and use it everywhere in the world, mainly Africa and South America where traffic can be hectic... But also dangerous.
I would love to have the option in Waze to chose a route depending on how dangerous the area to cross is.9 votes
