Routing server timeout on long drives
Since the app seems to consistently time out looking for long drives, I would recommend allowing more back end resources be used for drives over a certain mileage or time. This might require an upgrade based on the high number of users.
Instead of having just one option, I would like to be able to choose between options since there are riskier routes for adding traffic.
I'm sure I'm not the only one with this issue since I can have perfect service on an iPhone 6S and consistently have your servers time out.

Suppress Repeat of Long-term Alerts
Suppress repeat audio alerts for "long-term alerts" such as red-light cameras. User to press a squelch button on the alert pop-up, so that subsequent drive by the same location won't trigger the audio alert.
This annoys me some, but my wife absolutely HATES it when Ms Waze blurts out "red light camera ahead" on the roads we travel every day. The squelch button would enable me to not only squelch Ms Waze, but also would make our marriage more enjoyable!
Those who like to hear the incessant warnings would simply not press the squelch for any given alert. Everybody…

Plan a drive..
As I drive in traffic every day and this can change my whole day. I need to have an easy access to plan a drive. The most important information is the time to leave.. Not the time that I will get there (I know it; I told you). I need notifications if it change by more than 5-10 min. And I need easy access to this information all the time. The current program tells me 10 min before leaving and do not give me trends on traffic..

Showing visuals for vehicles that hold up traffic would make things so much better
Show a visual of where sanitation trucks, school buses, fire trucks, etc are on the map so you can take alternative routes to get to your destination much quicker.

Drag racing on Honeycutt Road, Cumberland County, Fayetteville NC
At certain hours (at dusk and when it’s dark), there are drag racers that frequent HoneyCutt Road in Cumberland County and on the Fort Liberty side as well. They frequent this road, because there are no traffic lights after the one by Simmons Airfield. Those individuals will ride your bumper and speed around you. Whenever there have been accidents they’re usually severe due to high speed. So people need to be aware. Department of Transportation are very much aware of this ongoing issue and they have done nothing to install additional traffic lights as that would cut down…

Collaborative Routing
Waze works like the most other Navigation Apps. You can choose between 1 and 3 different fixed routes, that sometimes slightly change when there is a lot of traffic ahead. The problem is, that Waze works like a broadcast as far as I know.
So when Route 1 have heavy traffic, all other users get Route 2 to avoid traffic. The problem here is, that new heavy traffic will be created to avoid the first.
All cars following the same alternative route.
Instead of rely on fixed routes, each user should get a personal routing suggestion…

Automatic speed adjustment
I made a patent for an interface between the waze and the vehicle in order to adjust the speed according to the speed limit on public roads , thus enabling a more secure , peaceful direction and within the traffic rules , minimizing risk of fines for speeding, car accidents and contribute to a better fluidity of the road . This device can be enabled or disabled at the discretion of the driver or the possible and future traffic laws.

Ability to say 'dont send me this way again' for dangerous turns or bad neighborhoods.
I live in a big city with a long commute and many options to to my destinations. Sometimes the way Waze sends me around traffic is dangerous (i.e. Turning left onto a 5 lane, busy highway just to immediately turn right, or through high crime areas). An option to indicate unsafe guidance and not to suggest it again would be great.

Difficult to cross street w/out stop sign for cross traffic and bikes
It's virtually impossible to cross Milwaukee when you're on Racine - there is no stop sign for Milwaukee and there are TONS of bike riders. Please reroute so drivers are not trying to cross a no stop sign street - especially at rush hour.

avoid congestion
It would help if Waze offered alternative routes that while took a few minutes longer, avoided heavy hectic traffic and congestion. I would gladly spend a few more minutes in smooth cruising than dealing with thick hectic combative traffic. Waze now seems to only offer the most congested route.

x Prediction Feature
A prediction feature. Example: Around 9:00 every Friday in the past 2 months traffic has been stopped on a stretch of road. Waze could put out an alert that says "Based on the past month's traffic use this route could be slow" even if no one has reported. Especially helpfully for being aware of authorities who tend to monitor traffic in the same locations.

TOWNS should be able to submit DO NOT USE THIS ROAD on certain roads
Towns should have a way of reporting problems with rerouting. In the case of many small towns intersecting two major highways, not all roads are appropriate for heavy traffic.
Towns should have a way to “prevent through traffic” on Waze, since Waze users totally blow off “no thru traffic” signs!
For example, small towns still using one lane bridges need to be able to prevent over use and over-weight; afternoon traffic blocking residential roads just because someone is trying to bypass an on-ramp; especially tricks using small town roads not equipped for big trucks and curbs, lawns,…

Select Alerts
Please make it so you can elect which alerts you want to receive during navigation. On long drives, there are multiple alerts that aren't necessarily relevant. Selecting only police, traffic, and hazards IN the road would eliminate a lot of alerts.

Please create an option to use Waze in invisible mode
I know there is an anonymous mode in Waze but in my area, there are not many people using Waze so unless I want people to know exactly where I am at all times, I can't use it!
I love Waze and I'd be happy to have all my information contribute to traffic info and maps for everyone else, I'd rather not appear on the map as even as an anonymous icon. Would this not be a useful addition?21 votes -

Select Notification to be displayed
I miss a "Setting Menu" for "Notifications type".
I'd like to hide some notifications and let some others displayed (ex : hide "traffic" and keep "police" ?)

Improvement to avoiding difficult intersections
I use the "Avoid Difficult Intersections" in the app but am still often taken to very busy main roads to turn right without traffic lights. I drive every day doing rideshare work & this is a constant issue for me.

Road goodies icons smaller or display under other objects
I understand the incentive idea of road goodies, and also understand you can just turn them off. But I would prefer another option which is either to make them smaller in size or be "under" other items (IE: roads, route, traffic coloring, etc.)

maximum one report per X miles
Hi there,
Waze is awesome and everyone is using it. Some like me to navigate from Northern Denmark all the way to Romania on holiday others just to find out about speed traps.
In Romania, Waze caught a lot of media attention so we have a lot of new users, who are obsessed with the points. The new users part is good. We get more reports, more places, we improve on the map problems and we know exactly where the police is :)))
But then due to the point system, the new users instead of thanking for a reported police…
