1. Unable to Submit Reports When Toast Messages (e.g. Tollbooth, Speed Bump) Appear

   I’ve noticed an issue when trying to submit a report while driving near certain map elements such as tollbooths or speed bumps. When the short “toast” messages like “Tollbooth ahead” or “Speed bump” appear, they overlap the Submit button on the report screen. This makes the button temporarily inaccessible, preventing me from submitting the report until the toast message disappears.

   It would be great if the UI could adjust to prevent this overlap — for example, by repositioning the toast message or allowing the report submission button to remain accessible at all times.

3. “See your friends on the road — drive together, even when apart.”

   Idea:
   Add a new feature in Waze that lets users add friends and see each other’s live location directly on the Waze map — similar to Snapchat’s Snap Map or a GTA V online lobby.
   How it works:
   Users can add friends through usernames, phone numbers, or QR codes.
   Once connected, you can see your friends’ cars moving live on the map while they’re driving with Waze.
   You can tap a friend’s icon to get ETA to their location or message them (“on my way”, “meet here”, etc.).
   Privacy controls let users choose who can see them (e.g. “Visible to friends”, “Hidden”, or “Only while navigating”).
   Optional group mode for road trips or meet-ups, showing everyone’s live progress on the same route.
   Why it’s cool:
   Makes driving and meeting up more social and fun.
   Perfect for road trips, convoys, or events where everyone’s on the move.
   Combines Waze navigation + real-time friend tracking in one app — no need to switch between Waze and Snapchat or Life360.

4. Waze PLEASE HELP. My Apple iOS Significant locations glitched and got erased. I need my location history for 08/18/2022 to exonerate me.

   I was pulled over because a vehicle “matched my description” at a Shell Gas station that I was never at on 08/18/2022 (see Frazier V. Cupp or Supreme Court V. Cupp; LE can basically lie to try and incriminate you for evidence that never existed). Then when I tried to use significant locations to pull up where I was on that date it didn’t have the “summary records” anymore. I blew a 0.00 BAC and had ZERO contraband in my vehicle. I did not break any traffic laws either (i.e. swerving, speeding, etc.).
   The arresting officer in my small town asked if I could whip out my ***** and *** in a cup for him. Not an EMT, Ambulance, or at a medical facility with medical professionals. I said “no, that is indecent exposure and a violation of my fourth amendment”. WAZE PLEASE HELP. My email is tango8787@yahoo.com

5. Potential Mobile Speed Trap Location Alert

   There are many locations where Police Camera vans stay. These are often the same location, and often around bends so its too late once they see you. You should add to the map, just like with speed cameras, potential mobile speed trap. This would allow everyone to be alert at all times, then if the vans are there, Wazers can further report Police just as usual. This would prevent speeding earlier on rather than when someone finally reports the presence of police. For example, this could be done by adding a new icon e.g. a van symbol, with an audio alert saying 'potential mobile speed trap location ahead'. Locations can be reported by Wazers which can then be added or by looking at available data such as Police Scotland's mobile van location maps. I believe this would greatly improve the experience for all Wazers!

6. Auto turn off once within “x” amount of miles from location (I.E.) home

7. Real-Time "Reckless Driver" Alert to Improve Road Safety

   A proposal to introduce a new reporting category that allows users to alert others about reckless or dangerous driving in real-time, enabling nearby drivers to take precautionary measures and prevent accidents.

   The Problem:
   Reckless drivers (excessive speeding, weaving between lanes, aggressive tailgating) pose an immediate threat to everyone on the road. Currently, law-abiding drivers have no way of receiving an early warning about a dangerous vehicle approaching them. In many cases, this lack of awareness leads to severe accidents that could have been avoided if drivers had a few seconds to react.

   Proposed Solution:
   Add a new report type under the "Report" menu: "Reckless Driving."
   Reporting: A simple tap to record the location and time of the incident.
   Alerting Others: Drivers within a specific radius (e.g., 1–2 km ahead of the reporter on the same route) will receive a voice and visual alert: "Caution: Reckless driving reported ahead. Stay alert and keep to the right lane."

   Mitigating False Reports (Quality Control):
   To prevent misuse or "spam" reports, the feature can include the following safeguards:
   User Trust Score: The ability to report reckless driving would be restricted to veteran users with high "Waze Points" or established credibility (e.g., Waze Warrior level and above).

   Multi-User Verification: An alert will only be broadcasted to the wider community if at least two or three independent users report the same behavior within a short timeframe.

   The Benefit:
   Saving Lives: Giving drivers a few seconds to slow down or move to the right lane can be the difference between a collision and a "near miss."

   Enhanced Safety Awareness: This aligns with Waze’s mission of "outsmarting traffic together" by adding a critical layer of proactive safety.

   Data for Authorities: Aggregated data on frequent reckless driving zones can help traffic enforcement prioritize high-risk areas.

   I believe this feature would be a significant step forward in making our roads safer for the entire Waze community.

8. Add a gate/restricted option for gated communities/parks/highways and time of travel restrictions

   There are some roads that you can only travel on if you have permission, such as a private road that requires a gate code or key. There are other public roads that are only passable at certain times of the year (e.g. Hwy 120 in Yosemite due to snow conditions).

   That private road may still be open to the general public during certain hours of the day. As well that public road may only be open during certain seasons. As well someone else pointed out that certain roads have turns restricted based on time of the day.

   It seems like this can be solved with a restricted road option that includes time based parameters including hours closed or season closed. This way if you don't have access or its a certain time of day or year, you will not get routed this way.

   You can add an option to the segment turn arrows for a restricted turn (yellow arrow) that will warn drivers that only those with access can take this route.

12. Live Navigation Sharing Between Multiple Vehicles in Group Travel

    I would like to suggest a new feature for Waze that can assist during group travel, especially when there is no fixed destination or the destination is uncertain.

    In situations where two or more vehicles are traveling together (e.g., in a convoy or guided trip), Waze should allow one car to act as a guide vehicle and share its real-time movement path with other vehicles following behind.

    The Waze app should then navigate the following vehicles based on the exact route taken by the guide vehicle. For example, if the guide vehicle turns right at a junction, the following cars will also be directed to turn right, even if there's no specific end address entered.

    If the guide vehicle gets more than, say, 2 km ahead, Waze should actively guide the trailing vehicles to catch up and follow the same path until they reconnect.

    This would be especially useful for:
    – Off-road adventures
    – Road trips with multiple cars
    – Military or official motorcades
    – Guided group events

    Such a feature would improve coordination and reduce the chances of getting lost during convoy travel.

14. ALERTA PARA FAIXA DUPLA/TRIPLA NA BR -- ALERT FOR DOUBLE/TRIPLE BAND IN BR

    Gostaria de sugerir que o aplicativo informe no mapa quando o carro estiver próximo de uma faixa dupla/tripla na BR. Esta função pode evitar ultrapassagens desnecessárias na BR quando o usuário do aplicativo estiver viajando. Diversas vezes quando viajo, vejo motoristas desesperados para ultrapassarem caminhões, principalmente à noite. E em algumas destas vezes, poucos metros depois nos deparamos com a faixa dupla/tripla na estrada, o que torna a ultrapassagem desnecessária naquele momento. Dessa forma, fica a minha sugestão para inserir um aviso, do mesmo modo que ocorre com as sinalizações de radar nas estradas. Desde já, agradeço.

    I would suggest that the app informs you on the map when the car is close to a double/triple lane on the BR. This function can avoid unnecessary overtaking on the BR when the app user is traveling. Several times when I travel, I see drivers desperate to overtake trucks, especially at night. And in some of these times, a few meters later we come across the double/triple lane on the road, which makes overtaking unnecessary at that time. Thus, here is my suggestion to insert a warning, the same as with radar signs on roads. Thank you very much in advance.

15. Use proper German in German app

    I've downloaded the app in German and the linguistic mistakes start already in the Google Play store. Every screenshot has at least one mistake. When starting the app one gets the option to select the language: there too a mistake (instead of Deutsch = German it says Deutsche = German woman. Obviously I don't want to travel at that moment to any German woman suggested by Waze). Then I get the option to select dark or light mode. Again a mistake: instead of - h e l l - for light (colour) I can choose licht (light weight/thin). I might want to go on a diet and walk to different places instead of driving, but I don't need Waze for that. In the app there are in almost every sentence mistakes. It is clearly (lightly?) translated by some engine worse than Google translate. Here my suggestion: In the app a "correct language instantly" button and/or a link to a translation suggestion webpage. And why not offer a Pro version for free then as an incentive?

16. Add support for government emergency alerts (cell broadcast integration) to notify drivers entering affected areas

    As a Waze volunteer editor, I’d like to suggest integrating a feature that uses official cell broadcast emergency alerts sent by governments or national agencies (such as AMBER Alerts, severe weather warnings, or public safety alerts).

    The idea is simple: when a Waze user drives into an area where a cell broadcast alert was recently sent, the app could display a notification or short message about it — even if that driver didn’t originally receive the alert on their phone because they were outside the area at the time.

    This feature could be extremely valuable in real-life situations, such as:
    • Missing or abducted persons (AMBER Alerts): Drivers might spot a vehicle or person described in the alert.
    • Severe accidents or road closures: Helps users understand unexpected congestion or hazards.
    • Public safety warnings: For example, dangerous weather events, wildfires, or police searches in specific regions.

    Waze already excels at community-based awareness, and this feature would extend that community role to public safety. It could help save lives, assist law enforcement, and make Waze even more valuable as a real-time information platform.

    To prevent spam or overload, the system could only display verified government alerts, limited by category and relevance (e.g., within 30–50 km, or active within the last few hours).

17. Spoken Turn-by-turn Directions (Bug Report)

    First, I don't think you could possibly make it more difficult for a user to report a bug that needs attention.

    Now, on to the problem. I run Waze on an iPhone 5s. Since I upgraded to iOS 9.3, the spoken turn-by-turn directions have become clipped or truncated. Previously, Waze would say, "In a quarter of a mile, turn left ..." Now, Waze says, "In a qu, turn left." This truncation or omission occurs on all directions that anticipate a turn, i.e., "in 1000 feet" or "in 500 feet" is now completely omitted. This results in the driver being directed to turn prematurely. NOT GOOD!

    I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Waze on my iPhone. The problem remained. I am running Waze 4.4.0.0 on an iPhone 5s with iOS 9.3.1. I use a Bluetooth connection to my 2015 Honda CR-V. My sound settings are Play Sound to Phone Speaker (Off), Prefer Bluetooth (On), Mute Waze during calls (On), Voice language (English US Jane), App Volume (max).

    I hope you can direct me to a fix. Otherwise, I will become a former Waze user.

    Proposal: Adding a “Smart Location Clipboard” Feature to Waze on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

    Current Issue:
    When using Waze through CarPlay or Android Auto, drivers and map editors cannot directly save or share a location from the Waze interface.
    To save a location, the driver must:
    1. Disconnect the phone from CarPlay/Android Auto.
    2. Open Waze on the phone.
    3. Select “Share location.”
    4. Exit the app.
    5. Paste the location into Notes or another app and manually add details.

    This process is complicated, distracting for the driver, and in some cases, can cause accidents.

    Proposed Solution – “Smart Location Clipboard”:
    • Add a button or voice command within Waze on CarPlay/Android Auto to save the current location or any location shown on the map directly.
    • No need to disconnect the phone or leave Waze.
    • Saved locations are stored in a special “clipboard” inside Waze.
    • Ability to quickly assign a tag or category to the saved location (e.g., school, gas station, landmark, construction site, etc.) either:
    • By selecting from a quick list on the screen, or
    • By using a simple voice command such as:
    • “There is a school here”
    • “There is a gas station here”
    • “There is a landmark here”
    • Users and editors can later review, edit, and share these saved locations from the phone.

    Benefits:
    • Reduces driver distraction and increases road safety.
    • Simplifies the workflow for active map editors.
    • Speeds up the process of recording important points and notes while driving.
    • Encourages richer and more accurate map data through quick categorization and instant voice reporting.

20. I would like to see voice navigation to any location. IE, 'Navigate to 1234 E anywhere street'.
