Open up Waze to developers so we get third party plugins!
Would be amazing if Waze allowed other developers to integrate their software AND hardware to use with Waze.
Escort radar has their own app where if you hold a button on their radar detector, it'd report it on their cloud to other Escort users that a police is spotted.
However, having to have two apps loaded at a time makes it very difficult to catch alerts from both apps at the same time. Opening up an SDK or API on Waze and allowing other companies and developers to integrate with Waze would allow Waze to dominate the industry.

Eco-drive helper
For eco-drive enthusiasts, you could create a function that shows upcoming speed limits with an adjustable distance. For example, I would like to be informed about speed limits approximately 400 meters in advance, so I can deactivate the cruise control and let the car coast to the correct speed for the upcoming limit. For EVs, this would simultaneously involve regenerative braking, saving me fuel and brake pads. The environment would be cleaner, etc. Adaptive notification would be an advanced solution. It would use the g-sensor to understand my inertia and the speed difference from upcoming speed limits.

There must new route selection with HOV lanes 2+ or 3+ passengers.The warning of speed cams,redlight cams,hidden police radar cars in Waze
In USA the Waze must update a new route selection when there is congestion earlier.Especially Google Maps works very well to avoid any congestion before arrival that point.There must a new selection for HOV lanes 2+ or 3+ passengers in same car with entries to HOV lanes.The warning must be often for Speed cams,redlight cams,hidden police cars.The most important update for the colors are conflicting about traffic congestion.The userface of map must be update similar vs Google Map.I am glad to have Waze ,but the aim must be a better than previous.thanks
1 voteThank you for your suggestion! As you may know, Waze offers HOV routing for taxis. To change your vehicle type go to Settings > Vehicle type. There are currently no plans to add more HOV options.

Put the speedometer back to black numberson a white background.
Why can't you people leave a good thing alone. I don't need you to tell me what the speed limit is. Making the display black on red is too hard to read, day or night. I know how fast I'm going. I hate Waze now.

Navigation
Hello,
Would it be possible that when navigating, the overview of the route with arrow and all traffic jams and speed cameras etc, this arrow moves dynamically and shows how far away the arrow is from the construction site, speed camera or traffic jam? This works very well with the Sygic app. I think that this feature would help many drivers to get a better overview. Thank you4 votesThanks for your feedback. i need village/city info 200 m befor it starts, so i can easy the throttle and slide to city at correct speed. (and save money for fuel)

Add an option to change where the alert is displayed on your phone screen (eg. speed cameras) from the bottom or top of your phone screen
Add an option to change where the alert is displayed on your phone screen (eg. speed cameras) from the bottom or top of your phone screen. As i find that for me when the alert is on the bottom i miss it due to the placement of my phone in the phone holder so if it was on the top of the screen that would be much better for me personally so give users the option to change where the alert is displayed on screen.

Eine Einstellung womit man die Tachoanzeige vergrößern kann um die Geschwindigkeit und das Speedlimit auf kleinen Bildschirmen besser lesen zu können, wäre sehr hilfreich und würde das Autofahren mit waze nochmal sehr erleichtern
A setting that allows you to enlarge the speedometer display to be able to read the speed and the speed limit better on small screens, would be very helpful and would make driving with waze even easier

More specific warnings
Can there be an option to report a speed van/camera in Ireland?
Currently speed vans (privately operated) are reported as police which is not accurate but its the closest option however there is a big difference between a parked private speed van and a garda checkpoint/police.Thank you!

In my convertible I prefer slower roads
I would love the option of driving on slower roads. Think of it as an extension of "avoid highways" but with the option of setting the speed limit that you don't want to exceed and let the excellent navigator that we all love plot the course out of our needs and wants.
I would love to be able to set Waze to calculate routes never exceeding the speed of my choice. Especially when we decide to drive slowly through the landscape in the cabriolet. UK / Android camera notices need fixing.
UK camera call outs have gone to pot.
Static speed camera's are not 'Speed Trap's - a copper hiding behind a bush is a speed trap.
Used to get "speed camera reported ahead"; now a really brusque "SPEED TRAP ahead".
Average Speed Cameras are not true Speed Cameras and do not need calling out every 3 lamp posts.Can we also have the "Speed reduced ahead" warning back - really useful for the 70-40 mph drops.

Location alert
Sound an alert telling me that I am coming up to a speed trap (a location I have put in)
I would enter the location of a known speed trap and get a warning before I get there. The location of that speed trap remains in the system unless I remove it.

Add option to add sound decibel readers
NYC specifically in the 5 boroughs of new york as well as a couple of other states started a program for sound decibel readers to be installed through out the city in other words noise cameras for cars and motorcycles. NYC has always been a loud place so this is un necessary. It is also not right towards cars that come from the factory stock such as scat pack chargers, hellcats, mustangs, harley davidson motorcycles, sports bikes, As well as many super cars. Route choice
Hello, would it be possible to add choices of route type, for example shortest or fastest. Cause now it's not clear how he tries to lead us and lately it seems it's not logical at all. For example, I was driving through Autobahn in night, where I can drive on 140km/h but waze taught it would be a great idea to change this route to a small forest road that has a 30 km/h speed limit with bumps on road.

Very need possibility to set/change 3D perspective angle. This need for safer driving, because current angle does not allow the driver to correctly estimate the turning angle. Settings the 3D angle view will make the visual perception of the turn more natural for safe speed selection when entering a turn.

Better iPad interface.
The iPad interface is a bit cumbersome to use while driving. I find many of the buttons are too small. I have my iPad docked in a RAM mount next to the stick shift, so its right next to my shift hand.
Different screens appear in different sizes (like the event selection screen is cut in half when reporting a hazard or similar).
Also, display of speed and similar information in the lower right should be larger, much like the turn-by-turn directions in the lower left.

Some bugs encountered with the application
I use Waze very frequently for my work. Both as a GPS and as an assistant for road hazards.
I've noticed a few anomalies in Android Auto.When I approach a speed camera, Waze informs me about it and the distance. As soon as I have passed the zone, the "Speed camera" indication remains on the screen and Waze does not provide any other information.

There should be a facility to enter an estimated time that roadworks will be present. The site could be linked to a pop uo question similar to the speed cameras, 'not here??' This would allow others to confirm when the roadworks were finished. '
