1. Fix Waze for apple car play w Audi a4

   Fix waze w car play. With latest apple update waze with car play wipes out steering wheel map. Phone only shows directions and can’t report accidents backups police or anything. Waze map only shows up on center screen

2. Implement user-configurable delay (in increments of 0.1 sec) for voice alerts

   Some vehicle Bluetooth implementations have lengthy handshaking which prevents the first second or two of Waze voice alerts from actually being heard. My car has a feature that ramps up the volume of a Bluetooth phone incrementally on first connection. However, the impact is that in most driving situations, the first two seconds are simply too quiet to be heard!

   For example, instead of "In 500 metres, turn right onto Main Street.", all you hear is ".. to Main Street". Obviously, this information is unclear and confusing, forcing the driver to glance at the map on the phone to verify what exactly is being directed - not only annoying, but it unnecessarily compromises safety!

   My suggestion is to implement a feature where the user can configure a number of tenths of seconds delay for voice alerts, during which Waze would actually transmit silence - the default delay of course would be zero. This would satisfy any in-vehicle delay of the sound due to handshaking latency or any reason, while having no negative impact on any user who doesn't suffer this problem.

3. Village ahaed "notification"

   Hi, I'd welcome some kind of (optional) notification that there is a village e.g. 500m ahead. Why? I do not like extensive braking when a village appears 50 meters (when it was not visible earlier) ahead and I need to slow down from 90km/h to 50km/h. I'd rather start to slow down earlier and fluently drive to the village without using brakes too much. Rather use "freewheel".

   This could be extended to "lower speed ahead", e.g. when o a motorway speed goes to 100 from 130 :)

4. Don't connect to the speaker when voice is muted

   I like to listen to music streamed via bluetooth from my phone. While running waze, even though I have the spoken navigation disabled, every time directions would've been announced, the music volume dips briefly. It appears that waze is trying to attach to the speaker even though it isn't saying anything. Please have it check for being muted before taking control away from other applications that use the phone's audio.

6. Junction mark arrow improvements

   I've been using Waze so far. And it helps a lot rather than the native map. The features already improved much better lately.

   But i would like to request another important improvements as follows:

   • At any junction we need to define how many junction are there. And put in clear distinctive color like green and red. NOT "grey" color which is vague enough to the black header background.

   Example there are 4 junction, if we take the third junction. Then the arrow color is Red Red Green Red with arrow direction pointing respectively ↰↑↗↷.

   This is the only problem most users had MOST OF THE TIME!

   • Do not define the next junction if it is farther than 10 km away. We only need the closest junction in front which we need attentively facing, stated in Green and Red. The next 10 km junction just put in the information box, because when you replace before one immediately, we don't get it whether we already pass it or still face the previous one!

   • Do not put white arrow on streets that need no attention, such as an exit. This white color distract us to be attentive to the junction, while it is nothing!! Or just put in other color.

   • For any junction that have a very long separator (Brick or plastic separator), the junction mark must be stated twice: on the start of the separator and at the real junction.

   Putting only on the junction is too late if you already choose which separator you are into! (if you don't get this one, please don't hesitate to ask me).

7. Improved Screen Layout on Larger Screens

   Dear Waze,

   First, let me complement you on a great product. I use it almost daily.
   More importantly, you got a more meaningful compliment from Google on your great job.

   As a user of your product, please allow me some user feedback which I would hope you may implement in your product.

   Until now, I used Waze on different mobile phones.
   Recently I purchased a new car with a 7'' screen.
   After having used it, please allow me some customer feedback and suggestions for implementation relating to the way you display information on larger screens.

   Seems to me that you do not make and use of the heavy increased real estate (size of screen) you have at your disposal in most in-car display systems with 7-9'' screens.
   At the top of the screen is a black bar which is utilized by the car manufacturer for different displays such as WiFi icons etc. and the time.
   This space is not available for Waze. No worries.

   However, the remaining space is not well used at all.
   Below the black car bar not utilizable by Waze you put another black bar with your direction arrow (<-), distance (120m) and road name (461 מערב).
   But most of the black bar is unused and just wastes the heights of your map display.
   But worse than that, the size of your icons is exactly the same small size as on much smaller mobile phone displays, thus making it difficult to read the information at a glimpse (while driving).

   I therefore suggest a different organization of the screen as shown in Figure 2.
   The main screen should be divided approximately 1/3, 2/3.
   The right part with the 2/3 display should be with your Moving Map and the centered arrow showing the present location.
   Please note that in the present layout, the map display is wider. However since anyway the present location is always centered on the display, there is no benefit in the a little wider map display.
   The left part with the 1/3 display should be the re-arranged Info Window.
   The bottom bar with the Time to arrival (32min), EAT – Estimated Arrival Time (18:04), Distance to destination (14km) should remain as is.

   Please refer to Figure 3.
   The Info Window should include (from top to bottom, left to right):
   Significantly increased size indicator of upcoming turn (Left/Right Arrow) etc.
   Significantly increased size Street Name and Street Number.
   Indicator of upcoming turn (to allow selection of appropriate lane after the immediately upcoming turn). [NEW]
   Soft button () to select the Overview on the Map, displaying the complete trip from start to destination with present location (˄). [NEW]
   Speed indicator (as in your regular display).

10. Map should prioritize route ahead on screen

    In addition to "Keep map north up" on or off (the only options I see currently), I'd like an option that does an offset to navigation direction (map north up "off") where it tries to fit more of the road ahead on the screen.

    I regularly drive curvy roads and it shows me no warnings ahead on the highway when the road just curves left or right straight off the screen. What I'm suggesting would not keep North up, but keep the road ahead up and on-screen more often. This is probably more helpful on highways than in towns, so it seems like it should be an auto-on/off feature for highways or rural areas (outside of towns/cities), maybe when travelling over 30mph.

11. Add option to “Play voice over Bluetooth” instead of only having option to “Play as Bluetooth phone call” (HSP and A2DP options)

    Play voice prompts directly using Bluetooth (HSP) rather than using Play as Bluetooth phone call (A2DP) which partially cuts the start of each prompt and shows your mobile number as calling on the screen every time there is a prompt. So annoying! Google maps have this feature now in settings.

12. Waze maps to closest street instead of named street

    I have noticed a few times lately that Waze seems to map the directions to the closest street to the gps point of the address, which is not always the same as the street the address is on. This means, for instance, that where there are houses which are set back from the street, Waze often maps to a neighboring street instead of the correct street, because it's closer to the marker.

    In one residential neighborhood with houses set back from the street, one address is mapped to a nearby condo complex behind the house. Another house is mapped to a private water company driveway which is located behind the property.

    I get that Waze may have to make some best guesses as to address locations when it doesn't have all the information, but it should at least put a high priority on mapping you to the street of the address you actually provided it. While it's possible there are some instances where you enter a property from another street, this is the exception and not the rule, and Waze would be much better off directing you to the street you actually requested.

    New Zealand NZTA is introducing Average Speed Cameras which will detect your average speed over a long distance.

    Can we implement a feature that will not only show you the start and finish point of the speed trap, but also your average speed whilst you’re within it to ensure you aren’t fined.

14. click on the list of directions and be taken to the map

    There are many occasion in which I use Waze to find routes to places I don't know. Also, there are occasions in whch waze suggests alterrnative routes to escape traffic.
    There are many times that Waze directs me to streets and places that I have never been through. When I look at the complete list of directions, many times the list contains street names that are actually completely meaningless to me, as I just don't know them. It would be nice if a a feature could be added that allows me to click on a particular item of the list of directions and be taken to the map corresponding to that instruction. In that way, I can also evaluate if Waze is not inadvertedly leading me into a dangerous neighbourhood.

15. Add Regular Route

    I hope I can explain this well.

    I have my regular route to work and back set by waze everyday. By now I have driven the route hundreds of times and know how to get to work. What I would like is to save this regular route (or whatever you want to call it) and not hear direction commands (exit in 4.1 miles, turn left. etc..) unless there needs/has to be a change in my route because of traffic/an accident/construction.

    I don't know if this is already a feature or not but it would be super awesome. It kind of sucks the fun out of a REALLY good song when the navigation tells me where to go in the middle of it and I already know where to go.

16. Waze Own DataBase for post codes in Portugal easy search and update by users/editor's.

    We know that beetween a name street that pops 2 options on the screen near you, and you don't know wich one to go, the post code search usually saves the trouble of going to the wrong direction, saving time and resources. So in that sense...

    ...The idea I'm sugesting consists on having a own WAZE database for post codes in Portugal run/managed with the Waze community and, that should be, the primary option when searching for post codes.
    The CTT (primary mailing company in Portugal) as an APP for phone where you can determine a certain post code matches a given address. This can be used to cross-reference and update with accuracy on the Waze livemap.

    Also on the livemap editing there should be a post-code for us editors to fill.
    And when searching for a post code, on Waze, ideally it should pop a area with the streets that have that same post-code, so the user can easily identify the area for the post code and search visually for the street name is looking for.

17. Community-generated driving route recommendations

    Is it possible for Waze (though, this definitely needs approval and careful study) to include a feature for the drivers to suggest or make possible route recommendations? Anyway, Waze is community-generated. Google search results are often inaccurate, based on the reports that we have been receiving.

    As the driver, always (or often or most of the time) know the possible route or driving direction. And possibly with this, other wazers will be able to contribute to the route. A wazer may suggest a possible route for others to follow.

    I just thought of having some sort of 'crowd sourcing' in terms of route or driving directions. Or possibly looking at the driving route/logs with 'from' and 'to' or point-to-point. Anyway, the idea is for the drivers to recommend the best possible route. -- But system can determine 'positive' recommendations based on the credibility and number of recommendations.

    Some programming and modifications needed from the back-end but I guess it will help.

18. Enable drawing polygon areas Where Closures Cannot Be Applied

    Use-case:

    There is a bridge under construction where only one direction is open at a time, controlled by traffic lights. Currently, Waze often shows it as closed, even though cars are just waiting for the light to change.

    Proposal:

    Add a feature in WME to draw a polygon-shaped area where closures cannot be applied — useful for cases like temporary one-lane bridges with traffic lights, where Waze should display a queue instead of a closure.

19. Ability to Mark Playground zones

    Hello, I would like to see the ability to mark the start and finish of playground zones, very similar to marking school zones. Some playground zones are marked with times and others are marked from sunset to sundown which can pose a local problem depending but in general can still be marked using seasonal general times.

20. After setting your destination, set the tabindex to the GO button.

    When you finally tell waze to navigate, it has this additional pop up. The popup does not have the hightlight/active button on the go button (to start navigating), but on the favorite (star) button. This is unintuitive. I had to use the dial while driving, hopefully find the GO button, and then press enter to start the navigation instead of just pressing enter in one go.
