Implement user-configurable delay (in increments of 0.1 sec) for voice alerts
Some vehicle Bluetooth implementations have lengthy handshaking which prevents the first second or two of Waze voice alerts from actually being heard. My car has a feature that ramps up the volume of a Bluetooth phone incrementally on first connection. However, the impact is that in most driving situations, the first two seconds are simply too quiet to be heard!
For example, instead of "In 500 metres, turn right onto Main Street.", all you hear is ".. to Main Street". Obviously, this information is unclear and confusing, forcing the driver to glance at the map on the phone to verify…

Beginning of town (inhabited place) indication - for when to let off the gas in advance
Indicate the next beginning of town somehow on the route.
On the map and/or with info saying "beginning of town in 500m ... 400m ... 200m" etc.
Or even just one popup saying "town in 300m".
Or just with a marker on the map! That would also suffice.I have wanted this feature for years.
Very hard to estimate when in an unknown area.
For those of us mindful about eco driving, there is no point in pressing the gas pedal up until the sign and then braking suddenly from 90km/h to 50km/h.It would be nice to know when…

Road interdiction in Car Play and Android Auto
This week I came across a detour due to a closure of a road that was under repairs.
I looked for the option in Car Play and couldn't find it.It is impossible to drive through an unexpected situation of changing routes, diverting through a place that you are still trying to understand while disconnecting the device from the car to look for the interdiction option.
Concern increases as we are on the verge of events when the number of closures increases significantly.
Please add the option to Car Play and Android Auto.

Improve usability for EV drivers
Please add more EV friendly information. Have no option to choose EV as fuel type and doesn't show charging stations. Since buying my car, I've actually found Google Maps a far better option but do miss the community reporting of Waze as its not as good in Google Maps

Vehicle mode selection when confirming route
I am aware there is a motorcycle mode in settings, however like many others, I often switch between motorcycle and car, it would be really handy to have a button or drop down menu to chose the vehicle type when selecting your route rather than having to go into settings each time.

Listening to Downcast and using Waze
Has anyone else experienced this? When using Waze and also listening to a podcast using the Downcast app, after arriving at the destination and then starting my next journey, I am no longer able to listen to the podcast. I have arrived at my destination and I stopped navigation. When I get back into the car and i resume listening to the podcast, i enter my next destination on Waze. Suddenly I am no longer able to listen to the podcast simultaneously.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Instead of adding a Pause button, ask what we are stopping for.
When stopped and it asks if you are in traffic, if the answer is no, let us tell you what we are stopped for. Also, if we go off route, ask if we are leaving our route for bathroom, food, gas, etc. Once we get back in the car, based on where we are, let us tell you where we stopped, and rate it. If for food, let us rate it and integrate the rating with Yelp. If bathroom, let us rate the quality of the restroom overall and if it is family friendly. I have been on the road…

Change colour of car on “Vehicle on Shoulder” alert icon
When submitting a report and looking at the possible report types while driving. From the corner of one’s eye the “Vehicle on shoulder” alert icon and “Object” icons are very similar.
I suggest the colour of the vehicle in the “vehicle on shoulder” icon be changed to a different distinct colour that also accounts for colourblind people.
If the vehicle was blue or green for example it would be easier to quickly tell the icons apart. Otherwise I feel like I need to distract myself from driving to double check the description next to the icons before confirming the report.

Traffic sign detection with machine learning
I use waze a few years as my one and only navigation system. In my car is a device holder at the front windows. In Germany we have many highway construction sites. And constant changed street signs are on the highways. Maybe you can add a machine learning system to detect the traffic signs.

When there is traffic, the index finger will tap to indicate frustration/impatient.

IPhone users phones cannot be locked when use with apple car play. If your phone is locked waxes will not work with apple car play.
Waze should work with apple car play with your phone locked. You shouldn’t have to keep your phone unlocked to use apple car play

Hello Waze friends. My name is Oscar Martínez from Costa Rica, I am a waze user and I love it.
I want to share with you an idea, waze is very useful because it "knows" the best way to reach our destination. But sometimes the app gives us a map using a route unknown to us regardless of the type of vehicle we are using at the time.
One possibility for improvement may be to first ask ourselves what type of car we have and thus avoid difficult routes for our cars. For example, a very bumpy road with…1 vote -
Allow planned drives to show up via Android Auto
Ever since an update came out earlies this spring, Waze has taken a giant step backwards. In the following updates they have remedied a few things (except the awful user interface via Android Auto)...and they still haven't added back key features when using Waze in the car with Android Auto...like PLANNED DRIVES. Duh!

Streamlined Spotify Integration
I love the new Spotify integration, so thanks greatly for that.
As much as I love it, it can get in the way a bit as having it open all the time consumes half the screen. (although it closes after notifications which is annoying)I'm sure I'm not the only one who has their phone linked to the car stereo via bluetooth. In this case I can change tracks via the stereo and therefore negates the need for the Waze music controls.
It would be amazing if in the Waze Spotify settings there was a streamlined option that simply allows…

notification of police even though you are not using the app
Sometimes i do not need to use waze since i already memorized the road i'm traveling, but then i get pulled over by the police. adding this feature that allows waze to send notifacation to the wazers without opening the app that they are near a police car will help all of us and will be a fantastic thing to add to the new update

Waze should delay commands by one or two seconds when iPhone is used through Bluetooth
I use Waze in my car, using my iPhone through Bluetooth so that the sound comes from the car speakers. The problem is, that Waze does not wait for the connection. All commands are partly cut off. For example: "in 1000 feet turn left" is heard as "turn left". Can you program Waze, so that when Bluetooth is used, there is a minor delay, for example 1 or 2 seconds, before the command is spoken. That way I will hear the entire instruction.
