Additional reporting options.
Two immediately spring to mind:
1. when reporting a weather hazard, it would be great to be able to report "sunstrike".
2. the only way to report a stopped car is as an object on the side of the road. The only hazards on the road are things like construction. I have had multiple occassions where I have come across a vehicle stopped on the road. These have not been an accident, rather they have been due to breakdown. An option in the "on road/in lane" category to advise of a stopped vehicle would be great.I love the app though. I use it all the time, and it works fantastically. Thank you.

Live traffic information from Government and Community sources
Some countries, states and governments provide an official traffic information feed that can be viewed by the community.
The RTA (Roads and Traffic Authority) in Australia provides information in a news feed based on area, that are contributed to by the RTA, police, fire, ambulance, state emergency services, and the community in general.
Im not sure of other countries setups, but it would be nice to implement some already available sources of official traffic conditions that could be viewed in waze and notfy the users of the problems.
The RTA information page about the system is here
http://livetraffic.rta.nsw.gov.au/desktop.html#aboutIt i just an rss feed you can subscribe to... eg
http://livetraffic.rta.nsw.gov.au/traffic/rss/reg-north.atomSeeing as in the feed the reported problems have locations, maybe waze could use the feed based on the location name, and anyone traveling to that area will be notified.
Or perhaps there is a better way to implement it that i dont know of, but the information provided is very useful.

Add a "Can't do that !" button
Sometimes, Waze tells me to take a road and I can't, because it is blocked for construction, or because of a map error (road recently became one-way). When I pass the road, Waze recalculates and often, tells me to make a U-turn and take that same road. Which I still can't.
When Waze tells me to turn where I can't, I'd like to be able to press a "Can't do that" button which would have 2 effects :
- Report a "Wrong driving instructions" map problem.
- Recalculate an other way to reach my destination, without this particular road.19 votes -
Use contacts
When suggesting Waze to people I know, why can't I just select them from my contact list? The Android contact list is also a great way to find groups. Please support it.

Switch between editor profiles on different servers (NA - ROW - IL)
For those of us who edit on more than one server, it would be really helpful if we could easily switch between servers on our editing profile. I edit in both NA and ROW. My editor profile shows the server for the last place I edit (except sometimes it takes a day or so of editing in the other environment for my profile to switch), which makes it difficult to find the last place I edited on the other server.
I can make a whole string of edits in Laos, make one edit in the US . . . and not be able to go back and see where I left off in Laos . . . or the other way around.
There used to be a script that allowed me to easily switch between servers, but that "broke" when "something" changed in the software, and does not seem to be "fixable."
This is really frustrating!

Allow to rename "Home/Work" labels or at least give option to hide the "Home/Work" icons displayed on the maps
Allowing to rename the Home/Work labels or give the option to not show the Home/Work icons on the maps would be a really useful option to help wazers keep their personal information private. For example I often have work collegues and clients in my car and whenever I drive near my home it's clearly labeled on the map exactly where I live. I do not want everyone at work and clients knowing my home address.. Whenever I have to drive with collegues/clients in my car, I switch to using the iOS Maps app so no one will see my address, which sucks because I prefer using the waze gps..!

Feature to Avoid Specific Road
I really do love Waze! You guys are great! But can you PLEASE add an option to avoid specific roads (or steps of a route)? There’s a route that Waze directs me on my commute daily, both ways, that includes 2 roads that are extremely dangerous. I don’t mean difficult intersections or something like that. I mean regularly reported gun violence, car jackings at stop signs/lights, and gang activity. I literally had this map editing option back in the days of printing out mapquest directions… any kind of option would be wonderful! Thank you!

Show satellite images in map editor. Sometimes roads are missplaced and only way to fix them is to compare with satellite images.

RPPs should allow alternate street names
Residential Place Points are limited to a single entry for the Street Name field. This creates an issue when streets have multiple names, not just officially but also in signage at different intersections.
An example, local to myself, is OR-99W. This is a state route, so it has its numbered designation (OR-99W), as well as its route name, which is carried through every city it traverses (Pacific Highway West). However, signage for this road in a single city can and does vary between either of those names, plus other, more localized variations (SW Pacific Hwy, Pacific Hwy (without directionals), etc.).
With all this different signage present, I think it understandable that users should expect to search for an address with any variation of the street name and find the same Place Point, rather than having editors create separate RPPs for each variation of the street name.
This could be accomplished by:
• Allowing the addition of multiple Alternate Street Names to each RPP
• Some kind of centralized list of 1:1 street name aliases, like a very strict thesaurus, wherein Street Name & City combinations are associated with each other.Residential Place Points are limited to a single entry for the Street Name field. Show visual instructions for "View Only"
For a View Only instruction, only a "Continue" instruction is currently shown in the app along with the lanes. It should also show visual instructions that are set by editors in the WME Turn Instructions panel.

Ability to Select HOV Routes in Carplay
Right now, when checking different routes, you cannot select an HOV route in Carplay (they just do not show up). You can still select it in the iOS app, but for some reason the Carplay app won't accept the route when you select it from the app. It requires you to select a route on the Carplay app (which doesn't include the HOV routes).
The only workaround I found is to set the HOV route before you connect to Carplay, but if you update the route during the trip, it loses the HOV route ability unless you disconnect Carplay while driving, which is not safe.
