  1. Real-Time Speed limit

In relation with the time based speed limits, it would be interesting to have the possibility to change speed limits in real time.
In some european countries for example they limit the speed limit on all the highways in a country to 90kph due to too high Co2 levels.

Having this option would set waze apart from other navigation apps.

  2. ability to amend speed limits

I'd be interested to find out how I can advise of a change in speed limit please. Our village (Newington, Sittingbourne, Kent) has recently introduced a 20mph limit across the village, but it's still showing on the app as 30mph.

  3. Automatic UR handling

An update request (UR) without any text can be automatically handled:
    1. There will be an automatic system response to the UR that will invite the user to add more details to his request in the WME (include a link) or in the forum (include a link to the local community forum). The user will get an e-mail as fr any other manual response.

    1. Every such UR that has no more responses (other than the automatic one) will be closed as "not identified" after 7 days.

That automatic handling will save a lot of time wasted by area managers. A…

  4. Displaying of node closures on planned closures

Node closures are great, but they can cause confusion as well. If there are road works with several phases you cannot see if the node closure is on the active closure or on the planned closure.

Therefore I suggest to make node closures greyed out on planned closures, as you now have with the symbol for segment closures as well. Additionally or alternatively, active node closures can be made red/white instead of black/white.

  5. Close a place for a fixed period

Sometimes I receive UR for places closed for works (construction site, temporary closure).
It would be nice for editor to be able to close a place for a fixed period, as you can close a road.

I had the case on 2 gas stations under construction closed for several months. A "temporarily closed" button or closing dates with automatic reopening would be great!

  6. WME Form autocomplete=off

Disable the autocomplete in the forms in WME. Frequently while adding street information, Chrome attempts to offer up personal saved addresses for street names, etc. This covers over WME's street name suggestions and buttons. A simple fix would be using HTML autocomplete=off for form fields or the whole form would stop this from happening.

  7. speed limit user poll

The idea is very simple but could improve the editors SLUR extremly.

In the moment we have poll´s for Police controll, Accident, Danger and so on.
Why not having a Posibility to do an limited (e.g.48hours) Poll for a Speed Limit like "is 120km/h the correct Limitation" (Yes, No)
and display the Poll Result in WME which would easyly allow to check if a submitted Speedlimit is correct.

  8. Add postal codes/ZIP codes to Waze address editor

When a Waze app user searches for an address added using the Waze Map Editor, it does not show the postal code. But with Google addresses, the postal code is shown. Please add postal codes to the WME.

  9. Mark for "No Trucks Allowed"

In Buckeye, Arizona there is a law prohibiting semi traffic in residential areas. With interstate construction it's creating backups and people are looking for routes around it. It's all well and good till a semi tries to drive through our golf community on a road that the city extended a couple of years ago to give residents easier access to Verrado Way. The semi's hit the reflectors marking the cart path crossings. They hit the curbs that weren't designed for truck dimensions. They also come dangerously close to children waiting on the sidewalk for their school busses. The street I'm…

  10. GPS announces what state or county you're in

It will be nice if the GPS would announce the state, county and city you entered in because on the road the signs might be knocked down or you just might not see them while driving especially on the highway or minor roads I really think this needs to be a thing it'll be nice if it will announce what city You just entered in.

  11. Speed cam edits should initiate tile update

Currently, speed limit edits depend on nearby map edits to be included in the tile update process. This seems to be an old limitation.

It should be possible to add or edit speed cams without requiring additional edits.

  12. To automatically remove duplicates from "external providers"

If you have have duplicates in the "external providers" of a POI, WME should automatically clean it. See example for this one which has twice the same Google Maps place :

    https://www.waze.com/editor?env=row&lon=51.53239&lat=25.32312&zoomLevel=17&venues=33751293.337709540.1838727

  13. Blocking edits when has unread PM

Editors would not be able to edit in WME while they have unread PMs. The idea is to get new editors to contact you to receive instructions about wrong edits. Now we send PMs and they ignore and continue to make wrong edits which forces us to block him via CAR to force him to contact the community

  14. WME road closure history information

In WME, editors are able to see road segment information and current road closures. At the moment, after road closures end, there is no visibility of what the road closure was in relation to and how long it was set for. This makes it a bit difficult when editors receive URs from road users and are unsure what the issue is related to.

It would be handy to see historical road closure information on that segment (if it be within the last 30 days or for the life of the segment).

  15. Highlight Lane Guidance Icons on hover

Currently in Lane Guidance there are the icons up the top showing the composition. It would be great if when hovering over an item it would fade out the icons that wouldn't be shown and highlight the ones that would. You're already highlighting the path on hover so it could be associated in that! I think this would be especially helpful for FL2

  16. Bring back the zoom bar

With all of the new zoom levels I'm respectfully begging for the return of the zoom bar in order to know what zoom level you are at. Since many map objects only display below a certain zoom level, in vanilla WME, you must guess whether you'll be able to see what you need. Also, the zoom bar allowed for single click zooming, rather than using the scroll wheel or multiple clicks.

  17. Sub-cities

The goal is to have a mechanism for attaching localities or hamlets to a city.
The French wiki presents a number of situations (https://wazeopedia.waze.com/wiki/France/Routes_Nommage).
There is also the management of districts or neighborhoods of large cities that could also benefit from this feature.

  18. Allow 3 choices for PURs that report closed places. 1) Ignore; 2) edit place 3) delete place

Currently we can only ignore a PUR that reports a place closed or delete the closed place. We have no other choices available. Often, we need to make changes in operating hours or make other changes but NOT delete the place. If we ignore the PUR, it counts against the reporter. We need a third choice that gives the reporter credit for the report but allows us to keep the place and make appropriate changes to it.

  19. Reorder custom turn instruction elements

When editing custom turn instructions, if an element (shield or free text) should be inserted before existing elements, then the existing elements must be deleted. There is no way to create new elements in front of existing elements.

Please add the ability to reorder elements. This way we could create new elements and then move them to the front if needed. This would save many clicks and retyping.

Great timing! We’re currently working on reordering custom turn instruction elements. Keep an eye out for updates on the WME.

  20. Close the turns

Now we can only close the segments, but it would be really useful to be able to close only the turns.
In many cases, for example, when there are road works at an intersection or roundabout, you can turn in one direction but not in another.
In these cases for the moment, we can not do anything, at most we can insert a restriction on the turns but obviously with all the limitations of the case.
They are not in real time and are not visible on the map.
The ability to close nodes recently arrived on the WME does…
