    One of the most common things that inexperienced editors start adding is walking trails aka routable pedestrian paths (in US english at least). This would very much benefit from rank locking as they have surprise effects on routing that an inexperienced editor wouldn't be aware of.

    I'd take this a step further and say that in almost all cases, R1s don't understand the impact of adding walking trails and probably most early R2s don't understand walking trails. I would argue walking trails should be rank locked at 3+ by default, potentially with country level control to potentially limit it higher

    This is a frequent cause of repeat map issue reports - an editor will fix a bad location pin, mark it solved, even verify it on their personal device, and the user will come back complaining in a new report that it's still not working. Particularly for newer editors this can be surprising if they don't know about the caching behavior. This could be as simple as implementing a TTL on cached recent drives, saved/bookmarked locations might need some more thought
