Replace the color of standstill traffic
Suggest to replace red color for standstill traffic to dark purple or black (normal theme background) / neon purple or bright magenta (black theme background) . There had few cases that drivers could not oversee how serious does the traffic are in that area. If drivers can notice the standstill traffic during navigation, drivers can decide whether to continue or use alternative ways to avoid being stuck in the standstill traffic.

Aggregated traffic/report data to see Trends!
Online or in the app, provide a feature to show aggregated data. This will allow us to see all reports for say, the past month, in our area. We can spot areas that have traffic on a recurring basis, places with repeat police reports.

Showing direction of slow or heavy traffic would be very useful.

Show slow traffic in yellow or red
Even if users don't send a notification of slow traffic, if the system detects that a few users are slowing down, change the display of the road to yellow or red. Currently, on the 118 freeway there are some spots about 2 miles long that are very slow, however Waze shows normal.

Warn oncoming traffic for ALL events
We cannot warn the oncoming users for all of the issues they can meet on the road.. Speed checks it's ok, but not the traffic jams or for the cars that have to stop on the side of the road for instance...

How the traffic represented on the map
Hey, you have a great app, really. But one thing is weird and sometimes nervous.
So during the navigation, I have many variations of the route. But sometime traffic may be unpredictable. So I want to be able to see what traffic is on the parallel/closest streets, it will help me to decide should I drive as Waze says me, or I can quickly change the route. But unfortunately, Waze does not show me the traffic at the parallel streets. Actually, Waze shows the traffic at the closest streets but not for all streets. COVID testing center wait time, traffic
I was trying to get covid test for my daughter this weekend and couldn't find out what places didn't have a wait line. Like traffic, I thought this would be a good opportunity for Waze to have people add a Covid testing alert or comment at a site to let others know the wait times. Or for Waze to recognize how many people are heading there? This would be a huge relief to people during this stressful time.

Traffic Alerts
Give drivers the option to manually enter a traffic incident ( police, speed camera etc) on the map rather than only allowing the them to report an incident on their tracking location. This can allow a driver to go a different direction or go past an incident and still enter an alert accurately for other drivers. Also allow an option for speed camera alone, because it is difficult to differentiate from police or a speed trap.

English for South Africans
I nominate Darren Maule, a South African radio DJ, comedian and local celeb, to do English (South Africa) voice over for navigation. His voice can be soothing or silly, and there are no current options for a South African accent and colloquialisms (e.g. "Eish" you missed your turn off, and we call traffic lights "robots" etc.) You can find him on LinkedIn.

Add an API Feed for Traffic Updates from Individuals and Groups
Add the ability to subscribe via RSS to traffic updates from individuals or groups. Provide links back to the Waze website for each update but also include the information in the RSS.

Traffic control button
It would be nice to have a button to mark where there are traffic controls, but not by the police. Often there are vehicle control done by the government. Such a warning button to mark in the map would be nice.

Most hazard alerts should not expire
When a hazard alert, such as a construction zone or a stopped vehicle is posted, it should not simply expire. It should remain active until a user explicitly responds that it's "Not there."
There's no reason that a long-term construction project, for example, should have to be reported repeatedly day after day for months. The same applies to most types of alerts, such as broken traffic lights and potholes. Once the hazard is gone, users will say so. Until then, it should remain active.

Early Alert for Standstill Traffic Following Accidents on Motorways
Possibility to treat standstill traffic as an alert when there is an accident ahead. When an accident occurs on a motorway and traffic queues start to form, the key is to receive an alert about the standstill traffic. Ideally, this should happen at a greater distance than usual.

Rank routes by least number of minutes in traffic
For a long drive, calculate "% of time spent in traffic" and "# of minutes spent in traffic" and include that as a criteria.
We just stared at 3 different routes for a 4+ hour drive that had varying lengths and amount of time in stop & go traffic. We would have liked to have selected easily "the one that makes the car move the most and has the least stop & go, so we don't get car sick and our children don't wake up."

The idea is to differentiate between police control reports that are traffic-related and those that are not. Currently, the app only allows the reporting of police controls without distinguishing between these two aspects. The specific proposal is for the app to allow users to report controls that are strictly traffic-related and, separately, another option to report police controls of a general nature that are not related to traffic.

Make the selected amount of traffic delay visible
When reporting traffic delays, one can select from “Moderate,” “Heavy,” or “Standstill.” Unfortunately, when the box is selected it changes color from really dark gray to black. In bright conditions it is impossible to tell which box is selected. Put a white line around it or have it change to a completely different color.

Preimptive Traffic Notification - Please read it is not just what it seems by headline.
Preemptive traffic notifications! Sounds Alarm, chirp, chime, text w.e. the user selects when normal route would be jammed BEFORE leaving their home/spot. You have the info and capability to recognize patterns in people’s lives. If they leave at 7:30 to get on a bus, subway, truckers cranking up, no matter who it is, Waze could see that their normal route is delayed 2 hours and let them know BEFORE they have left. Think of the possibilists. People with flexible schedules, Truckers, Subway goers… Repeating but flexible route drivers (delivery etc.)… lots of people benefit so much! Even me, because I…

Amber colored checkerboard for local traffic only
Hey Waze. Can you guys look into adding an AMBER colour checkerboard icon to denote restricted roadway in terms of lane reductions or open to "local traffic only", but not completely barricaded like what the red checkerboard would denote?
