1. Traffic cameras timers

   Hello, waze in cyprus is used by high percentage of the popularity. The main problem though we have is the traffic cameras that have been installed but without a timer. This creates major problems for the drivers creating car accidents but also many fines. My proposal is to add maybe an estimate timer on the app for the traffic cameras so the driver knows when it will turn red.

2. New hiden speed cameras in athens not shown on map

   TO: Google & Waze – Traffic and Maps Division
   SUBJECT: Missing speed/red light cameras in Athens & National Highway – Immediate risk for users

   Dear team,

   I’m a professional taxi driver who drives tens of thousands of kilometers every year in Athens and on the Athens–Lamia National Highway. I use Waze and Google Maps daily. However, the lack of updated data on new cameras has become a serious risk for your users.

   What’s happening:

   1. In Athens:

   Dozens of new traffic cameras have been installed on major roads (Kifisos Ave., Kifisias, Dyrrachiou, Moschato, Nea Filadelfia, etc.).

   These are white with black base, featuring a small glass window, supposedly for “traffic monitoring.”

   However, they are already issuing fines, e.g. a reversal violation at Panormou & Kifisias, confirmed by SMS within 3 hours, even though there’s only one visible camera there – a “monitoring” one.

   These do not appear in Waze or Google Maps as fixed or mobile cameras.

   1. On the Athens–Lamia National Road:

   At kilometer 250, there are new cameras that capture vehicles up to 2 km away. The limit there is just 80 km/h, a clear trap.

   They’ve installed cross-facing cameras on both directions to scan both lanes.

   Just before Kandriti tolls (coming toward Athens) there’s a digital info board with an integrated camera, tracking speed and taking photos.

   Our demand is simple:

   Update your maps immediately to include these active cameras, to protect your users.

   If there’s no local editor, assign one or send a professional to document them.

   I do not ask to become editor. I only care that drivers are fairly warned, as in every civilized country.

   If needed, I can provide photos and exact locations. This is not personal, it’s about transparency and public safety.

   And worse: Political deception

   In Greece, there’s a recurring pattern of public deception by the authorities.

   The Ministry claims that “cameras will be used only for red lights” or “will activate from November 1st” – yet they’re already issuing full fines for all violations.

   This was proven by a reversal fine confirmed by text message, from a spot where only a traffic-monitoring camera exists.

   In other words, citizens are deliberately misled and ambushed, at a time when fines are economically devastating.

   Why this matters:

   Thousands of drivers receive fines unknowingly, without prior warning.

   Your apps, without updates, mislead rather than assist.

   The Greek government provides zero public signs or indications.

   The fine system is not income-adjusted – rich and poor pay the same. Totally unfair.

   If you truly respect your users, act now. Otherwise, your platform becomes part of a nationwide trap.

3. Add a wireless OBD2 sensor for additional vehicle safety information

   Suggest adding a wireless Bluetooth OBD2 device (BlueDriver or OBDLink MX+) so Waze can access safety features from your vehicle such as:
   1. Blind spot warning
   2. Accidental lane departure
   3. Show when turn signals are on - for those that forget - optional beep after 5 seconds and before my wife says “YOUR BLINKERS ON!!!”
   4. Etc.

   Option - For lane departure and blind spot warning above - when the two are triggered the Waze display or the hud display below could kick in the appropriate mirror camera video (if the vehicle has mirror cameras) so you see the situation at hand without needing to jerk your head around. And if both are triggered at the same time the mirror camera image could add a red bar across the top of the image.

   Accessing an optional Bluetooth OBD2 sensor would also give Waze an accurate vehicle speed so that issues such as the CarPlay/Ford speed discrepancy could be fixed without calling the vehicle manufacturer into play for a solution.

   If there was a display mirroring option to use our phones as a heads up display or if
   Waze this could be linked to one of the new TFT full screen heads up display projectors then all of the important gps and safety information could be displayed front and center for the driver.

   I drive a big 1 ton dually and the vehicles around me are my primary concern and keeping my eyes on the road is essential

   Every aftermarket Heads Up Display on the Market is Lacking in showing safety features and none have the strength of information that Waze has. I believe combining all these features along with the latest HUD Technology would make Waze the best vehicle GPS and Safety device on the market.

5. PLEASE make it EASIER to add an address to a favorite

   Please make it easier to favorite an address. I logged into the web version (from my PC), and there is no where to add an address to favorites. I chose send address to phone, and then I had to point camera to a QR code - why doesn't it just send it to the phone via the internet? Anyways, the navigation to the address comes up - but NO WHERE is there an option to add to favorite. Nice app, but please make this easier.

6. External App Shortcut

   It would be good if users could add a shortcut to another external app on the map screen. I have a Reversing Camera app which I occasionally need to open if parking in a difficult space, so being able to open this quickly from the map screen would be EXTREMELY useful!

7. Enhanced Visual Warning for Speed and Red-Light Cameras

   I would like to propose an additional visual alert system for speed and red-light cameras within Waze. The idea is to introduce a transparent red overlay that flashes on the screen as drivers approach a camera location.

   This feature would serve as a strong visual cue, especially for users who may not always be actively looking at their GPS display or listening to audio directions. The flashing overlay would draw immediate attention and help ensure drivers are more aware of upcoming enforcement zones.

   To keep the experience user-friendly and adaptable, I recommend that this alert be offered as an optional setting within the app, allowing users to enable or disable it according to their preference.

   This enhancement could greatly improve safety and awareness, making Waze even more effective as a real-time navigation and driver assistance tool.

9. Improve the UI

   1. Speed Camera/Hazard/Red Light Cam pop up is too big & obscures lane navigation. Make it smaller! This is particularly detrimental when lane change is close to the speed cam and driver can't see the lane guidance
   2. After passing speed/red light camera, why the 10sec delay showing the warning? Not useful at all. Just a small icon will do, why take up precious screen space
   3. Can't close the speed cam/hazard pop up as the cursor keeps defaulting back to Search icon (I use a navigation dial on my Audi, which does not have touch screen interface). As it keeps blocking the lane navigation, driver has to keep closing the pop up! Default the cursor to the Close button

10. Tow Bugs

    HI!
    I found two bugs for you:
    1.the first bug: I entered the "Send a report" screen and taped on Traffic Jam.
    I am able to send a comment or a picture with out choosing the traffic rate (Moderate ,Heavy ,Standstill). this case is also relate to Police, Crash, Hazard ,Map issue and Camera.
    2. when i taped Gas prices and the system cant find nearby stations, i cant close the message by tapping on X because it doesn't work.

    by the way i leave in TLV and i am QA student i would really like to work in Waze.

11. Always announce cameras on smart motorways

    Smart motorways have variable speed limits - suggest always announcing speed cameras regardless of the speed you are travelling at (motorway speed can vary depending on limit set)

13. Trailer Speed and Seatbelt/Phone Cameras operating in Queensland

    Firstly I know there are posts regarding this including mine but I think this needs to be addressed with fresh eyes and open minds.

    I understand there is a resistance to showing the Seatbelt/Phone Cameras and I can see the thinking behind it but would like to suggest that a General Warning would be better than none.

    Now on to the main part of my idea which is only applicable if Waze have no intentions of giving Wazers three options to report these Trailer Cameras (Unidirectional QPS Speed Cameras, Bidirectional Acusenus DTMR Speed Cameras and the Acusensus Seatbelt/Phone Cameras).
    Instead of the algorithm (method) Waze is using at the moment what I am proposing is one that uses "Time Between" reporting to keep the report alive and not disappear (like they are now).
    For example if a Police Hazard report is lodged and expires and another comes in for the same location Four Hours or More later then the Hazard Report should stay up (it could be a Trailer Camera?), if this persists for more than four hours from the first report to the latest one then it is looking more like a Trailer Camera and should stay up even longer, possibly 24 hours.
    If the reports continue the next day then it should stay up until the required number of Wazers report it "Not There" or expire after eight days or more.

    Having observed them for a while now I have noticed the Police Icons disappear many times for long periods only to reappear some time later. I can now confidently identify Trailer Cameras using a simple spreadsheet and suggest the Waze app could do the same.

    There is also a flaw with Waze in that it seems it uses the same algorithm (method) for the populated roads as the less populated roads which disadvantages the Waze users in the less populated areas. It would be great if the app could allow for less traffic and produce a similar result for both scenarios improving the app for the remote motorist. Having said that I have also observed the Police Icons disappear in the Suburbs and think this would also be fixed by changing the algorithm to better suit these new Trailer Cameras.

    I must add there have been a large number in these Groups calling for an app that caters for these Trailer Cameras and the roads less travelled but my way of thinking is Waze is a good app so "why reinvent the wheel?".

    I know this suggestion is very long winded but I think it is important enough to hopefully plant a seed for change to make Waze an even better app. If you got to this line by reading it all, I thank you for your patience!

15. Alert pop-up on car screen - add a dismiss

    Example: red light camera in x feet

    The only options are to say "thanks" or "not there". I just want it to go away so I can see the estimated arrival time. Without this option, there's no way to obtain accurate feedback. I just select one or the other so it goes away without knowing which is accurate.

17. Indication of danger zones even without navigation With Android Auto

    Is it possible to receive notifications of danger zones even when using Waze without navigation?
    Living in France, we have danger zones, not speed cameras.
    The problem is that the danger zone notifications only exist when using navigation with Waze, and if no one reports a speed camera, we don't receive any notifications!
    It would be nice if this option were compatible with Android Auto.

19. the ease does not know that my country here a lot of road toll, which need to Q to pay fees to go through, the ease alwayspop

    My idea to make wase better is, set in road toll on the map and drive, and speed limit buzzle sound, prevent overspeed on road and face summon by traffic officer. and a lot of speedtrap camera on high-speed expressway,
    set that in also with sound on speech, so that the driver can slow down the vehicle speed,

20. Enable notifications while driving for dummy cameras

    It would be very useful to have the option to enable or disable alerts while driving for dummy cameras.
