1. Safety and crime based routes and reporting

   Waze should introduce a feature that allows users to report unsafe or crime-prone roads—especially relevant in high-risk areas like South Africa. Based on personal experience, Waze has sometimes routed users through dangerous neighborhoods, which can be especially hazardous for tourists or those unfamiliar with the area.

   This feature should allow users to flag roads where recent crime has occurred or where safety is a concern. These reports could be time-stamped and reviewed by the community, similar to how speed traps or traffic accidents are currently handled.

   In addition, Waze should add a toggle in the app’s navigation settings—like those for avoiding tolls or highways—that allows users to automatically avoid high-risk areas when planning a route. This would give users more control over their journey and increase trust in the app’s routing, particularly in developing markets where safety concerns are a daily reality.

   By helping users avoid dangerous routes through crowdsourced safety data, Waze can position itself as a truly adaptive and user-focused navigation tool.

2. Routing quality has plummeted after the Google acquisition - please get it back in shape!

   I am a passionate Waze user who has converted many friends to the app, and has become a top 4% reporting contributor (I don't participate at all in any other gamified apps or websites). But now my support is waning fast.

   Ever since Google bought Waze, routing has progressively become worse and worse. I initially switched to Waze because Google Maps routing had become horrible - inefficient routes when there were obviously better ways to go, etc. Waze does awesomely creative things like telling me to get off the freeway at an exit then immediately hop back on - Google never ever did that!

   Now Waze is infected by the same disease and I want to cry, as I live in a traffic-snarled Texas city and in the past Waze has saved me so much time – I don't want to lose my helpful friend!

   For example, a route I take 3 times a week stopped defaulting to or even offering as an option the path I always take (initially taught to me by Waze, and incredibly traffic-resistant and consistently fast). Instead, Waze gives me 3 often-traffic-snarled-and-unreliable options.

   In other spots in my home city, on a road I drive with Waze active 3+ times a day, Waze tells me to veer off the usual path on a new road that just got built. It thinks this would be faster, but it is obviously a poor idea, in addition to not being something that should be shown given how much route-training I've given Waze over the past 9+ months (100s of trips).

   Also, when I've been traveling recently, Waze has given me horrible routes, routes that were obviously bad even to someone who'd never been there before.

   I've tried reporting routing errors via the report feature in the app, but Map Editors have responded that they have no control over the macro issues I have reported. As well, it takes too much work to report micro issues, such as the consistent issue 2 paragraphs up with the single road I often drive. Map Editors don't see exactly what I see in the app nor my routing options (they said they see very little info).

   I first loved Waze because it was creative with routing, and then I became a top 4% user, and now I have no idea what to do....

4. motorcycle display preferences for carplay

   I have 5" carplay units on both of my motorcycles. (no this is not a display size issue). My preferred map software in carplay, is Waze, as I want the most crowdsourced information such as cops, traffic, construction, etc. My only problem on the motorcycle with carplay/Waze display is that the map is way too FINE and small print, the speed is too small, and red/black which are fairly impossible to read as they're both dark colors.

   My ask, and idea, and suggestion... either basically control over the display SIZE to make the fonts and boldness of the roads and road names much more significant. and control over the speed display to be larger, and display colors. -or- a motorcycle mode, which prioritizes those things knowing that the display may be somewhat small, 5 or 7" are the only ones for motorcycles. and it's going to be vibrating a bit, and the rider is in a helmet, with visor or some sort of vision disturbance other than none/glasses_only.

   The current version of carplay/waze for motorcycle use is , not usable. Even in cases where I know what street is coming up im looking for, there's no way I can see it on the mc carplay unit waze map. not not bc size... bc the display is a "fine line" and a small fine font.

   There is a motorcycle avatar icon to use, idk if you choose that it could auto-adapt the display to something motorcycle oriented with large bold font, thick bold street lines, and large high-contrast speed information., that would be really great. or separate controls, either way... please. pretty please LOL =)

5. Fix bugs in Waze/Carplay interface

   Hello Waze! Love your app but can't use it on CarPlay due to some technical issues. In my car Waze comes up very loud and seems impervious to the volume controls on my steering wheel, but when I persist, it stops talking to me all together which is not a good thing when you're in the middle of a Drive into a complicated traffic situation. Please fix this issue so I can start using and enjoying ways again. Unfortunately now I am using Google maps which I don't like nearly as much, but at least it allows me to turn off the voice or to adjust the volume . 7. Adjustable turn notifications

   I typically have the voice turned off because of this issue but I do enjoy the variety of voices offered and I have noticed in a lot of city driving the turn notifications are too frequent.
   
   For example if I'm making a left at an intersection then turning right in 3/4 mile into a neighborhood I hear:
   turn left, in 3/4 miles turn right, in a half mile turn right, in 1/4 mile turn right, turn right.
   
   I would like to have a feature where I can toggle these options off or limit it to only give me x amount of turn notifications per minute. Because of this its nearly impossible to listen to music because your constantly being blasted with repetitive and unnecessary turn notifications.

9. Including the allowed speed in the vocal warning for speed camera's or trajectory control woud be a great feature.

   Also a bigger actual speed and allowed speed indicator, one at the left and the other one at the right bottom of the screen woud increase usability.

11. Control how much time an alert appears before the event.

    It will be great to have an option to control how much time before an event, it would alert us.
    When you are at a highway, the alert appears 2 or 3 seconds before the event.
    I think we should choose between 2 seconds and 30 seconds before events.

13. Coolwalk update is terrible.

    With the updates to how Waze works, the default settings are terrible. One of the best features of Waze is the ability for users to add, verify and remove real-time events. With this update, the selector defaults to "Search," which is the worst of all the available options for safety. In addition, whenever map alerts pop up for verification, if not already there, the selector switches to "Search" mode. This takes more time and fiddling with controls, taking your attention off the road longer and possibly in violation of several state laws.

    The previous interface at least minimized this. The new interface is unnecessarily complicated and dangerous and actually makes a case to ban the use of Waze, at least in Coolwalk mode as configured. Improvements are needed to default settings nearly immediately.

14. Neighborhood/City patrol control gamification using waze

    New suggestion of Waze functionality.

    My suggestion is simple and very useful for various types of business.
    Using a map and a specific route to complete as a neighborhood area or entire city, you can create an application (gamification), for example: for a local security guy with a car that needs to fill a number of streets to check during a night shift, or a police patrol or a garbage collector, etc.

    This application can sinalize the % complete or measure efficiency by speed, streets missing , has control points and others functionalities and can also provide visibility to a specific audience of service status.

    Bonjour lors des évènements zone de contrôle serait il possible d 'avoir un policier rouge ou d'une couler différente du bleu pour les radars et le policier bleu restant disponible pour les vrais contrôle de police.

18. Landscape mode - report (not selectable)

    About a year ago - report became unselectable via UI when the phone is in landscape mode.

    A separate control to switch map orientation sits underneath. Change map rotation fires instead of the considerably larger "report ui"

    Id like the UI to function - report being one of the more helpful pieces whilst driving.

19. o app coloca a tela em modo noturno durante o dia

    Utilizo o Waze no meu automovel (chevrolet onix activ) e quando ligo as luzes do carro durante o dia (obrigatorio nas rodovias) o app coloca a tela em modo noturno, o que atrapalha a navegação ja que a tela escura durante o dia nao é legal. Sugiro deixar o controle dos modos diruno noturno de tela para o usuario. Obrigado

20. bug fix

    The new update of waze has possibly introduced a bug on Android auto. When in the context of waze it is impossible to exit out of it on android auto i.e. to the menu option. This was working previously when for example the physical back button of my car controls was pressed. Could you please reinstate this as it was i.e. back button on a non touch system android auto highlights the menu option outside of the WAZE context. Tested on google maps and all is good there i.e. back button takes you out of google maps and highlights menu option. This bug is preventing me from using any other option and I am locked within the context of WAZE !The design assumption that has been made is probably down to assuming that everything is touch screen. Some old android auto systems are being controlled through physcial buttons and wheels. Please fix
