Waze takes up too much space in CarPlay split screen mode
Waze takes up too much unnecessary space on the right side of the screen when using CarPlay split screen, to the point where you cannot see the music title anymore. This only happens when there is a lane indicator (see link below). Google and Apple Maps don’t have this issue. This should be adjusted so your music title is not hidden when the lane indicator is active.

Mobile Police Unit Reporting Plan
“Report Mobile Emergency Vehicle” voice command to prompt the query ‘type and direction of travel’ followed by the Wazer reply “Police/Fire/Ambulance - My Lane/Opposite Lane”. This would follow with allerting Wazers a predetermined distance ahead (1 to 5 miles) in any lane of travel to be on the lookout. Police presence is to encourage obeying speed limits and this feature acts as an extended police presence. This feature also alerts traffic to make way for emergency vehicles as we are in most countries legally obliged. Slowpoke Driver
Include under the Hazard option "Slowpoke Driver in Speed/Passing Lane Traveling Under 60 mph" to alert other drivers like me who find this a daily nuisance as it adds to the traffic problem driving in Los Angeles freeways

End route at end of closed segments
When the destination would end on a segment that is currently closed the route ends on the next closest segment (that isn't closed) which in many cases is a road in the back of the property where there's no access to the destination.
Consider ending the route at the last node that is not closed on the route - at the node the closure ends/starts.

"Always Avoid This Intersection"
Waze needs an "Always Avoid This Intersection" feature.
Waze consistently routes me to turn left at a traffic light at an intersection that has 6 lanes of traffic merging into a single lane to get on to a freeway which is also controlled by a traffic light. The congestion there is ALWAYS terrible and easily adds 20 minutes to my commute. Users with local knowledge should be able to specify intersections to avoid at all times. This "avoid list" would be user specific, thereby allowing each user to maintain it (add/delete intersections) as necessary.4 votes -
Display in horizontal
When using in horizontal with an iPhone (both 11 and 14) the top black spot in the phone used for the frontal camera is not allowing to see the distance meters until the exit or lane change whatever

Conditional use of toll roads if saves more than set percentage of time
I live in Northern Virginia (US) where we have a growing network of high occupancy toll (HOT) lanes paralleling existing roads. These come up as separate roads in Waze as they have their own on ramps and off ramps. Just to make them more fun, they have variable tolling so when traffic is more congested on the "free" lanes the toll lanes cost goes higher. The speed limit is also higher on the toll lanes so they always come out as preferred over the regular lanes for navigation.

Truck
Ok, so 6+ years ago it was in the too hard basket to make a truck route...
How about just collect data from people who want to add road closures to already set routes but so long as the vehicle type is set for truck/RV. Effectively it would be a clone overlay of map guides but over time with the community help it would create itself and within days to start with.

I-4 Ultimate Express Lanes
The new express lanes on I-4 through Orlando, aka I-4 Ultimate, are finally finished. While they physically show up on the Waze map display, they're never recognized as roads whenever anyone drives on them and it just freaks out thinking I am either on the normal I-4 lanes or somewhere off route. They also are never offered as routes and no doubt save a ton of time when the downtown Orlando traffic is backed up.

Road Improvements & Increase Highway Lanes, Carpools
How many times have you traveled on a highway with consistent heavy traffic with empty space on either side and wondered, why don't they just add more lanes? [CA-237 San Jose]. Then you wonder how you can get your voice heard because everyone else is most likely thinking the same thing?
Or you go onto a heavy on ramp and wonder, there's room for carpool, but everyone is waiting into a single line, why don't they add it?
Or there is a pothole, but who to contact to fix? Or road improvement, or on ramp, off ramp are dangerously…
1 voteThank you for your suggestion! As you may know, Waze offers HOV routing for taxis. To change your vehicle type go to Settings > Vehicle type. There are currently no plans to add more HOV options.

Big truck on side of the road.
Hello, would you consider: an option for "Big Truck" stopped on the shoulder? As someone who drives a commercial motor vehicle over a 130,000 miles a year, I can tell you that the majority of cars on the shoulder are abandoned whereas the majority of big trucks on the shoulder are broken down and or getting service at the time and there's usually a human being somewhere walking in and out of the highway at the truck is being repaired. The Washington State Department of Transportation now provides real-time toll rates for the I-405 express toll lanes as a publicly available live data stream for software developers. The API is publicly available here: http://wsdot.wa.gov/traffic/api/ , along with several other live data streams including traffic flow, travel times, and highway cameras.

the operation of the classification tape has changed adversely
It is unpleasant that the meaning of the upper ribbon has changed during navigation. So far, the classification signal has shown in which lane I should move according to my current situation. This has changed and now it shows that at some point, when I have to change direction, in which lane I will have to be classified. This is very distracting while driving and dangerous for accidents. Push the start date limit for road closures an extra month in the future
Right now, map editors can place road closures at most one year in advance. When an event ends, they often announce next year's date. It would be handy if we could add those closures at that point, even if the event will take place like a weekend later next year. Now, we often have to set a reminder to add these next week or so. Therefore, I'd like to propose this limit gets pushed one extra month in the future, making the limit 12+1 months. It might be best to adjust this limit for some other related things,…

Regional volunteers should be able to mark long term or recurring problems
Volunteers (i.e., the same folks who handle map reports) should have the ability to mark areas that have long term issues or are frequently reported for the same thing.
Example use cases:
Long term road construction
Construction over a long stretch of road where an individual report might not be in the right place for a Wazer to see
Regular lane blockages (e.g., when the outside lane of a road is available for parking at certain hours)

Allow assigning a dropped pin as Home or Work addresses!
My Home Garage is accesses through a long lane way / alley. My work parking beneath the building is accessed from a small side street. The result is that driving directions approach both locations from the wrong direction. I waste time in both directions & navigation needs to be manually ended.

1. Travel to needed location (e.g. your work parking)
2. In app open menu on the left, click on your profile name and select “Home and Work” menu
3. Select “Set work address” (if no work address added) or tap the edit button on existing work address.

I would like to see a way for Waze to distinguish between travel in express lanes or regular lanes on I-90 (Kennedy Expressway) and similar Chicago area roads. These are not HOV or toll lanes. Waze will often route me to the express lanes, but the line to enter the lanes negates any benefit, so I bypass and take the regular lanes. Waze, however, thinks I'm in the express lanes, causing navigation errors and headaches. Otherwise, I'm very happy with Waze. Thanks.

Your new app is BAD. THE “plan a drive” is buried, there still isn’t an easy way to add a stop. I’ve quit using Waze as my regular map.
Make the app ACCURATE, and easy to use, plan a drive, change starting location, correct lanes to be in.- NO, I can’t “ stay in the HOV lane” , and exit the freeway at the same time!
I can’t be in the leftmost turn lane, and exit right to the freeway!
I’d like it to be easy to use-change start location, add a stop, maybe even help me route a drive- which stop in which order ( start and stop location, with 2-3 stops on the way)1 vote
