Context-Aware Voice Instructions
To improve the clarity and relevance of voice instructions in Waze, I propose integrating advanced contextual awareness into the navigation system. This feature would include:
Detailed Contextual Cues
…1. Landmark-Based Instructions: • Incorporate landmarks and notable points of interest into navigation prompts. For example, “Once you go past the Costa Coffee on your right, prepare to turn right” or “After you pass the second set of traffic lights, switch to the left lane and prepare for a left turn.” 2. Milestone Guidance: • Provide instructions based on specific milestones in the journey. For instance, “Continue straight until you reach1 vote -
School zone camera speed trap Lawtey, Fl. No flashing lights. 20 mph. Can't read times on sign when driving.
Lawtey, Fl. is operating an unethical school zone speed trap at the light on US 301. There are NO flashing lights and the zone times are impossible to read when driving by at the posted speed of 40 mph. Speed limit drops to 20 and is camera enforced. Ticket for $100 arrives 2 weeks later. If Lawtey was truely concerned about student safety, they would install flashing lights. Their primary objective is to defraud unsuspecting drivers and Lawtey has a long history of being a speed trap.

Waze not displaying traffic that has already been reported
Waze often does not display traffic (yellow, orange, or red) that has already been reported. Either it will not show it at all or will show it in the Route overview but not on the map itself or vice-versa. This seems to be an ongoing issue and is likely not specific to a particular device so asking for device details will not be helpful.

POLLICY Suggestions from Wazers
Dear Wazers,
I believe Waze is an incredible tool, but I think there are opportunities for improvement. Have you considered incorporating features that allow users to suggest improvements to local governments and cities? For instance, users could report issues like potholes, malfunctioning traffic lights, or poorly synchronized signals directly through the app. Waze could then relay these reports to the relevant authorities responsible for maintaining roads and traffic infrastructure.
Additionally, Wazers could provide suggestions for new roads, bridges, or traffic patterns, which could greatly enrich both the Waze experience and governmental planning efforts. By facilitating this exchange of information,…

Please, please program Wayze verbally report traffic slow down 1 or 2 mile before entering the slow down. Wayze knows there is a slow down
Please program Wayze to verbally communicate a traffic slow down, stoppage, construction, road work, etc. at least 1 or 2 mile before driving upon it and caution driver to slow down approaching heavy or standstill traffic or work zone with heavy traffic. This will prevent accidents and save lives

Earlier notifications of traffic jams. Needs to be alerted minimum 15 miles before an incident
Sitting in a traffic jam of about 10 miles that could’ve been avoided by an earlier notification of an incident causing a major backup. Minimum alert of 15-20 miles. Germany has it with the autobahn.

Even better traffic diversion/lets make detours easier.
Waze supports many ways for drivers to leave comments on changing road conditions and hazards, including road closures or debris in the road. The way the app is setup is for people to flag trouble while driving, not while stopped. People often use waze to avoid police when driving, this has resulted in mixed responses from law enforcement. Some saying its intentions are insufficient at ensuring continuous safe driving. Others value its merits like I do. In my work in the field I often use Waze to alert motorists that the road is closed or that there is something they…

Ability to drive most direct route through busy traffic with no bypasses to side streets, would be great for us that use motorcycles in city
I often find the sat navy avoids traffic jams/heavy traffic...and takes me to side streets .not good for riding a motorcycle through London for example, when I can go through the traffic and use the main direct path...perhaps an option to go through heavy traffic routes!
1 voteThank you for your suggestion! As you may know, Waze already has Motorcycle Mode included in the app. To change your vehicle type, tap Settings > Car Details > Vehicle type.

I'm just curious if your algorithms take into account the lack of school traffic in the summer.
Summer traffic is lighter. Averages over the entire year will be diluted.

•Cloud for fog
•Shovel for construction
•Black dot for pothole
•Icicle for road ice
•Tombstone for roadkill
•Bicycle for bike on roadway
•Indicate why traffic is slow w/tow truck icon for accident, lightbulb for traffic light malfunction & "strobe" light for misc-red for EMS, blue for utility work, etc.4 votes -
Hey guys, what if you can upload a photo or a 10 seconds traffic situation where you at right now so people can see it.
I have this idea so people can share what they are experiencing right now on the road through either pictures or a 10 seconds video and that video is pinned on the map where it was taken because sometimes in my personal experience waze takes time to update its traffic highlights situations.

Traffic alerts/advisory should be limited to a geographic area of the waze user.
Today I received a traffic alert for Dunedin New Zealand. At the time I am in central Texas, USA. How do I limit my alerts to my geographic area?

Provide degree of confidence of route suggestions
When choosing a route, I would like to see a degree of confidence that I will arrive at the time specified. More of them than not, I arrive at my destination several minutes after the original estimate due to building traffic, getting stuck at lights, etc. This especially occurs during rush hour traffic. If the app offered a level of confidence based on the proposed routes then I would feel like I have more control over my route. This could be represented as a % confidence based on conditions and aggregated data from users along that route…

Waze should monitor neighbor hoods and cities who advocate 'traffic calming' and no right turn signs. So waze can be even more effective

Is there any way, you can improve the navigation when it comes to a Main Street and you gotta turn left if you can guide us to a part of the street that has a traffic light for we can have a better chance at turning with all that traffic Passing by in a Main Street

I also want to point out this setting can also potentially miscalculate traffic flows. A few days back, during heavy rain, waze was showing
I want to point outthat vehicle type setting can potentially miscalculate traffic flows. A few days back, during heavy rain, waze was showing the route to be congested, when in fact traffic was smooth flowing, albeit at a slightly slower speed due to heavy rain showers.
In Malaysia, when it rains, motor cyclists take shelter under flyovers and bridges. Therefore, if their waze was on, it would make your app think traffic is at a standstill.
Another issue with motorcycles is, in Malaysia, Lane Splitting is not an offence, and most times, during slow traffic, motorcyclists travel at much…

Crossing major intersections
Los Angeles - When crossing major streets such as Sunset Blvd, Wilshire Blvd or La Cienega Blvd, please guide us to an intersection protected by a traffic signal. While the smaller streets are great for avoiding traffic, once we reach a major thoroughfare, we simply can't get across without a green light! Thanks, Waze!
