Client Suggestion: Voice Recognition
I was driving from Las Vegas, NV to Fullerton, CA this past weekend. During the trip, I had a few hours to think of what client upgrades could be implemented into WAZE. Specifically, as the title of this thread suggests, I thought about Voice Recognition. This came about as I sent a report, but was unable to type a comment, thanks to texting and driving dangers.
Here is what I was thinking:

Allow the ability to specify the location of a report.
When reporting an issue, crash, traffic jam, fire, Police activity, the system only gives you the option to report on the road you are on. So for example, if you are at an interchange where you can see the activity on a highway or interstate, but you are not on that road, you can't actually report it properly. Hungary toll
In Hungary you can have vignette (sticker) for highway for each county separately for the whole year or you can have a vignette for all of the Hungarian highway (the first one is cheaper if you just drive only in some countys). So, it could be very helpful if you could choose which county do you have vignette (not only the possibility to avoid toll) and the program could calculate the trip (where you can use the highway and where no). It is difficult to report while driving because the menu is complex. So I wanna report afterwards when I stopped driving: tap on the map and report what was going on there

BUG: Apple route direction "stack" on phone not updating during drive
When using Apple Carplay, the latest version is NOT updating the text direction "stack" seen on the phone while driving. Previous versions would remove the turns after they've been completed. The only way to get the stack updated is to toggle to road reports then toggle back to the directions on the phone.

Fix sunset dark/night mode toggling multiple times per day
When driving before sunset, Waze switches from its day to night mode a little bit before sunset...then it switches back to day...then to night...then to day... On my drive tonight (headed west on I-20 toward Shreveport, LA), it toggled back & forth 15-20 times before finally settling in on night mode.
I recommend adding some hysteresis into the switching that matches/compliments how you calculate the sunset proximity. Once Waze switches to its night display in the evening or it switches to the day display in the morning, it shouldn't switch back (you know, as long as you're on the same …

Allow Podcast apps integrated
Allow podcast apps such as Libby and BorrowBox to be intergrated into the Waze app. Currently when I listen to a podcast on a long drive I cannot hear the navigation sounds and waze noises.

Improve display for alternate routs
When alternate routs are displayed, the route description is displayed in small, grey, hard to read font. A larger and darker font would help.
This option of alternate routs is useful during drive to conclude if a suggested "exotic" route really save significant time.6 votes -
Add police alert on nearby roads
If the alert (police, traffic jam) is not on the road Waze users are driving on, there is no way to indicate that. For example if I drive on a road that is near a highway and there is an accidant on the highway there is no way to report it.
It would be nice to let users tap on the map to indicate the place of the alert. If no tap, it means that the place of the alert is the actual place.12 votes -

I usually type long long long posts, but the title of this speaks for itself. Just a couple more details below.....
Nokia had a GPS app called HERE Drive. It showed you what speed you were going and what the posted speed limit of the road was. Very handy.
The release of Windows 10 has caused the HERE Drive app to be deleted and replaced with Windows Maps. Some of it the same and some different, but everything good was taken away. Windows Maps is horrible, and many people are now looking to choose a new app for navigation.

Add an option to get planned drives from the Google Calendar app on IoS in addition to the integration to the Apple calendar.

Allow the user to define an event such as playing one of your own sounds, display one of your own photos or play a music track at or near specific places. Example uses - get onto a fast stretch of road and your music changes, and changes back when you get into town again. Vocal control of everything Waze can do whilst driving.
You should be able to just speak everything into the app, for everything and anything you might need to do, especially since it is illegal to even touch your mobile phone whilst driving these days.
Anything that requires 'touch' to operate whilst driving, NEEDS a vocal command equivalent

Support for iOS 11 DND while driving feature
iOS 11 which is being released tonight, supports do not disturb while driving. This means that if you text me whilst driving, rather than being distracted with a text message, my phone will text the person back informing them that I will see the message once I have reached my destination. The person can still call me of course.
This feature works with Apple Maps, but doesn’t work with Waze. Not sure why. Can you make Waze work with it?

Ability For Calendar-Synced Planned Drives to allow GPS Locations
Currently, you can set up a planned drive manually in the mobile app that allows for the destination to be a set of GPS coordinates as well as an address. However, when syncing from a calendar, only an address is allowed. And, oftentimes the synced address will require some manual manipulation within the app before it will be accepted.

when I drive on rt8 south from Seymore CT to Ansonia CT waze tells me to go off exit 19. if I use exit 19 then I have to look left and right

Select safer way by following someone if alternative route is similar time
Safely travel means to follow others. Like on festivals inside crowds ==> people tend to walk together = crowd pulls you. Basically we should drive in circles. While road has dashed line, we better don't want to meet many cars in opposite direction. This can avoid mamy accidents by front crash. Similar road arrangement can be seen ie. also on some festivals so it is not just a dream!! I prefer to come 10min late than never [+]. Waze should offer this always (on dashed line roads).
