Button customization on Waze with Android Auto & Carplay
• My suggestion is for the following feature: Adaptive Button Placement/Customizable Controls
• My suggestion solves this problem:

Calculate ETA based on own average speed
ETA calculation seems to be based on traffic conditions and general average speed. ETA calculation seems to be inaccurate when driving below the average speed of the road-segment as it keeps increasing while driving with constant (low) speed.
It would be great if ETA calculation would also be accurate for vehicles going below average speeds (e.g. trucks in europe etc.)

Permanent show POIs on Android Auto map (configurable)
I would like to show some additional POIs like charging stations, parking places and gas stations on the Android Auto map permanently (configurable). If I want to charge my car I need an extra search request to find a proper charging station.

Let to use keyboard (as passanger) on Android Auto
As a user, I would like to have with Android Auto the same option as with Apple CarPlay to use the keyboard as a passenger.
Currently, while I'm driving with family f.e. on a highway in my country it's illegal to stop on the side of the road. So I'm not able to enter the destination address while in motion. My wife as a passenger has to plug out my phone from USB and enter it manually and plug it in again. It's just plain stupid. It's not even a security option if I have to use my phone to…

Address lookup with Google Search (Android Auto)
When searching for an address on your phone you get an option to search using Google rather than Waze which is very helpfull as very often I've found Waze can't find an address or location entered but Google nails it just about every time... I would even like to make Google the default if I could as it's a lot more reliable..
For now, just having the ability to search for your entered location or address via Google when using Android Auto would be a good start :-)

Display bug onAndroid Auto
I can't find a way to notify a bug, so here it is as an improvement proposal:
When I plan a drive on the phone before plugin the phone to the car, I don't get anymore alerts and display of speed in Android Auto.
If Waze is off on the phone when I connect to the car, and I start the itinerary in Android Auto, everything is fine.
I connect using USB-C cable, and phone is Fairphone 3 with Android 10, but I saw it on other phone brands as well1 vote -
use speed limits to cap estimated time to destination
It seems to me that Waze uses the average speed of traffic to estimate the time to the destination of the route selected. However, this is not very useful to me if the average speed of traffic is greater than the legal speed limit. While I may be okay with exceeding the speed limit under certain conditions, I almost always prefer to know how long it will take me to get somewhere if I drive at most the legal limit. Speed is not readable that small. Also put the bloody sign into the box for speed camera so i can finally see the limit!
Need the sign with the number in the box for speed alert box!! So many times i dont know the limit and the alert doesn't help at all!! Use the space that box is massive! Put the sign in it.

Speed history
Keep speed history for past 90 days. Ability to sort it by dates or trips and map view. Log speed even when not navigating. Give user the ability to turn this feature on. This is useful when getting pulled over or camera ticket. This feature can be a expanded Google Maps "your timeline" with pin point speed history.

Advanced speed options
Speed options based on vehicle type for UK
Eg. Speed for goods vehicles are different in the UK to normal vehicles.Would definitely help avoid unneeded speeding tickets.

Make Map Chats readable on Android Auto and CarPlay
Map Chats often contain useful information on lane closures or other hazards, but while their icons show up on the car's nav screen when using CarPlay or Android Auto, they can't be tapped on or read.
It is far more hazardous for me to unplug my phone, open the Waze app, and read the Map Chat than it would be to simply glance at my dash nav and tap the chat - you could even have the phone's TTS read it out while displaying it, then give the option to give it a thumbs-up.

Allow users to choose to display routes on their Phone instead forcing on the Android Auto
Allow users to choose whether to use their phone as Waze for routes or Android Auto as the main display, instead of forcing it to display on Android Auto. Some people want to stream music using Android Auto and use their phones to see directions, as it doesn't distract them from the road. Some head units in cars are positioned lower from the direction of the road and are more of a hassle to look at while driving.

Autozoom depending from speed
I like to have an autozoom depending from my travel speed that shows me a big area when driving fast and a detailed area when driving slow e.g. in the city.

Large buttons, not list style
With the Waze beta version on Android Auto, I really dislike how some options are in list form or with small icons.
eg: when I try to post that there is a stopped vehicle on the shoulder, I like the large layout of how the Hazards are displayed. I dislike that the proceeding options are in a list: that sometimes need to be scrolled. It is hard to press on these accurately, especially when driving.

Choose which side info boxes appear when using android auto
Hello!
So, the info boxes that show turns and warning only appears on the left hand side of the screen when using Android Auto. This means I have to glance further to see the actual map / route that I'm taking, which seems less safe, as I am driving on the left.
It would be great to have an option to choose which side to have the actual map and info boxes display, as people are using both right and left sides of the car when driving.
Changing the side in Android Auto settings itself does not affect this.…

Android Auto display on instrument cluster on VW Group cars
I've hit this issue and according to research it has been reported by other people using Waze Android Auto on VW Group cars.
In my case I have a Skoda Superb, and when using Waze Android Auto navigation, the instrument cluster will often(/always) show incorrect symbols for turns.
It seems to mostly go wrong for roundabouts, which the UK has many of. Roundabout direction icons will either incorrectly show as just a turn, or in the worst cases a right turn at a roundabout will show with a U-turn symbol.

Variable speed
Show the slower speed for variable speed zones.
In Melbourne Australia there are many variable speed zones where the slower speed is set for a longer period. Eg. 40km between 7am and midnight. That should be the speed set for that area as that is the speed for the majority of the day, not the higher speed.2 votes
