Two Red Light warning are better than one!
One of the most serious offenses in the traffic laws for vehicles is crossing a red light. The big problem of the State of Israel is that the focus is on enforcement and not prevention.
Other cases of crossing a red light are pedestrians looking at cell phones and other distractions that may result in tragedy. The user will receive an explosive message that there is a red light at the traffic light and thus prevent the next accident. In recent years, the Ministry of Communications has been working to allocate additional frequencies and allow the use of these…2 votes -
Add traffic like icons to your maps like Google Maps.
Google Maps has traffic light icons on their maps which is very useful when deciding what intersection to use, especially when making a left hand turn in heavy traffic areas. I don't understand why this feature is not offered since Waze is under the Google umbrella.

Smart traffic lights, matrix signs above Dutch highways and ambulance notifications
Must haves for future Waze updates 🇳🇱:
- realtime ambulance warning when an ambulance approaches with lights and sirens on.
- connected to smart traffic lights to speed up getting a green light and improve traffic flow.
- connected to Matrix signs above Dutch highways. These things are already available on other apps (for example Flitsmeister).

For Australian roads, no right hand turns at busy intersections unless there is a traffic light
The reason why I don't always use waze is because it has the habit of making routes involving right hand turns at busy intersections with no traffic lights. This is a bit issue in Countries that drive on the left side of the road.
1 vote“Avoid difficult intersections” option is available in Navigation settings. Should ease the issue if not eliminate it.

Temporary traffic lights
Add an option to show temporary lights, option for roadworks is great but I think most people would like to know if there’s a set of temporary lights, these can add time onto busy work commutes and this can be taken into account when planning a drive. Waze is fantastic for everything else but this would take it too a new level above every other navigation app.

Adding Traffic signals to the map or giving the option to avoid signals or not
Will there ever be an update that gives you the option to avoid traffic signals or not or possibly show traffic signals on the map? Many times in order to save time. It routes me to a block with no traffic signal at forces me to make a left onto a busy intersection, which sometimes is very dangerous. I’d much rather wait at a traffic light which I end up having to do anyway, in order to make the left when the traffic stops.

Traffic light free and alternate lane traverse free turning feature with extra option enabling lane traverse turnings at non-signal turns
There should be features that allow users to opt for routes that are free of traffic lights and also free of having to either make left handed turns in America and other American driving nations or free of right turns in Australia , UK and other countries with British driving system with options to enable those turnings where signals aren't present . Or in other words , traffic lights and left turn free American driving routes and traffic lights and right turn free Australian driving routes . Both with options to enable left turns in America or…

Traffic Lights Shown As A Land Mark
Traffic Lights Shown As A Land Mark
Major Motorways should be split for easier interpretation. Looks like one road when actually there are two. Does not represent reality.2 votes -
Node Types - Multi use and meaningful for routes (Traffic Lights, Lane Guidance, etc)
An intersection always has a node, this node could become much more meaningful than simple turns and could significantly enhance the functionality of Waze (albeit with a significant development penalty).
By adding some logic to nodes you will be able to introduce some logic that will significantly enhance the ability for the routing engine to calculate superior routes when taking in things like traffic light penalties and other metrics.
1) You can collect timing metrics for intersections much more efficiently, and potentially learn intersection timing and other factors which will help produce much more accurate route timings without depending on…

Make user icons transparent near traffic cameras
Sometimes when there are too many user icons beside traffic cameras(red light, speed cameras), they block/overlap the camera signs displayed on the map, making users harder to notice upcoming traffic cameras.

Use Waze information to Control Traffic Lights
Since I'm a long time user of Waze and Google Maps, I was wondering if Alphabet Inc. has considered designing a smart system that would use the data transmitted by Waze clients to program traffic lights.
From the research I've done, the actual smart systems in advanced cities are based on sensors and cameras placed at the intersections which makes this solution very expensive and thus not attractive to third world country cities. There's even a proposal using RFIDs in vehicles.
I am sure that city governments would promote vigorously the use of these apps and embrace a solution…

Voice navigation instructions based on traffic lights and stop signs.
Apple Maps would say “At the next light turn left” or “At the stop sign turn right” or “Go past this light, and at the next one, turn left” which is very useful and helps me make turns at the right intersection, especially if two streets are close to each other.

I have a suggestion: it would be great to show stop signs and traffic lights on the route.
If we could go to Map Issue and note when there is a 2-way stop sign; a 4 - way stop sign; or a traffic light, it would improve Waze and help the driver when on a route to know what's coming up.

Report Downgraded Traffic or No Traffic
It would be great if we had the option to report No Traffic or Downgrade traffic patterns from Heavy, Moderate to No Traffic. There have been times where I would be traveling down a road that was reported as Heavy Traffic and I was not able to report that their was no traffic at all. I believe this type of feature would be helpful to Users when trying locate alternative routes. Thanks.

Add traffic camera report option for fixed highway cameras
Had traffic camera report option for stationary highway monitoring cameras. These are not red light cameras and these are not speed traps.

Reporting of traffic jams in filter lanes or turning lanes
Hi, many times while driving on the highway I would pass a filter lane or turning lane at a traffic light that is extremely long. I would like to be able to report this so other users who might be coming up to the turning lane would know its present status and can decide if they want to continue there or go to another turn off. Currently, I can only flag whether there is traffic on the "main road" that I am traveling on.

Utilise Waze's live traffic data to manage traffic flow for an entire city
Utilise Waze's live traffic data to manage traffic flow for an entire city by interfacing with traffic control systems, like lights and lanes, and charge local governments for the increased productivity.

Need way to edit one lane bridge, due to long term construction, causes two way traffic to wait, traffic lights on ramps and road
Need way to edit/show one lane bridge, especially due to long term construction. Current situation causes two way traffic to wait while traffic lights on ramps and road cycle to allow only one ramp or roadway lane to proceed at a time from any direction.
No existing Waze edit function to mark local bridge that is under repairs and causing traffic delays. How can we show detour? All traffic is now funneled through one lane on bridge one traffic direction/lane at a time. No edit function to indicate this to warn drivers to avoid bridge, at least not for…

Traffic Reporting
users report traffic even at 2am on an empty street as heavy or even standstill just to get points.
Recommend a change where the user only presses a button that says "report traffic". Then the app over 3 minutes send location and speeds to server and server decides based on reported speed vs posted speed, the heaviness of traffic. At 80% if posted a peed you mark "moderate". At 60% it's "heavy" and at 40%, it's at a "standstill".
29 votesGreat news! The feature where reporting Traffic Jam's severity based on speedometer reading is now available in Waze. Install the latest app version to check it out.

Avoid difficult junctions option
It would be nice to have the option of avoiding junctions that involve you crossing several lanes of traffic that ain't traffic light controlled.
