Option to close waze without confirming or double tapping screen
I use waze on every drive, due to this my phone is always logged in when driving (use a pin to access). While sitting in traffic one evening 2 robbers forced my window down, unlocked my car, opened the door and grabbed my phone. I would appreciate if an option could be added to close waze without confirming or by double tapping the screen in order for a phone to lock itself asap so that it can't be used or accessed. This would be much easier to do in a state of panic than to press the power/lock button…

in order to avoid distractions during driving i wish you allow calculate routes from the main screen with one click. it happens a lot i need to decide which road to take during a fast drive and i need to operate waze to calculate the best route.

parking lot landmarks / traffic analysis
I would like to see certain landmarks not count as traffic analysis. If an area is marked as a restaurant, parking lot, gas station, etc.. the time a waze client spends there should NOT count against traffic analysis. Wazers can't be expecte to turn their nav system on and off just to order a burger, or fill up the tank. In reality, a nav system should be as "hands off" as possible for the daily commute. start waze when you get in the car.. go on your trip, pull over at the gas station and leave waze running. go through…

Waze App - Create Own Preferred Route.
Hi.
It would be great, if we could create a Navigation Route based on our own personal drives. I usually (99%) drive the same route many times a week.
However, the app doesn’t recognise some directions i go and has to recalculate it. If, having the preferred route stored without any recalculating, it be a nice touch.

Remove parking lots from view while driving
Parking lots should be revamped as place points as opposed to area places to reduce visual clutter on the map while driving. Or perhaps a "show parking lots in app view" toggle to give drivers the option to see them. It could be enabled by default.
Larger parking lots in front of big-box retail stores like Target or Walmart should be obvious and not displayed. You can't miss them, they are often the only place to park.

Bring back the report list on iOS!!
Please bring back the list of reports on iOS!!! I used to use that option all of the time, to decide which route I was going to take or see what I needed to watch out for, before I set out. Now I can only see what's going on when i set a route in the car to leave, which defeats my purpose of analyzing which way to go. I like to do this before i set out. Remove "Good Morning" and replace it with the street name you're driving on
What's the point of wasting the whole bottom of the screen with goodmorning. Instead show the street name you're driving on. Especially important with emerging technology. I have a GPS rearview mirror which I'd like to leave on (NOT in navigation mode since i'm not navigating most of the time but just driving) Now if the bottom of the screen then I can follow written instructions someone wrote me on a paper and I can confirm it matches the street I'm driving on .

Improve "forgot username or password" process
I upgraded to a new phone. Forgot my username & password but the entire existing process is circular. Put in my phone number (didn't receive a text w/in 24 hours). Put in my email address (didn't receive an email w/in 24 hours). I charged & started my old phone to get my username. Once I retrieved it and put it into the new phone I received a verification code via text. I used that code and then added my full name - and I was given a new user name which I did not choose. Potholes are removed by bad actors
I drive rideshare and diligently mark devastating potholes just for them to be removed moments later. There may be bad actors in high clearance vehicles with big tires removing these, or just people that don't see them from a different lane. It's likely many just want the notification off screen and mindlessly downvote. It needs to be more difficult to get rid of pothole reports, or allow us a setting to make recent reports more persistent regardless of downvotes.

Maximum Speed info box when crossing a border
When crossing borders if would be interesting to have a little popup infobox appear on the screen which summarizes the different speeds allowed in the country to which you have crossed the border to.
For example when i'm driving from Luxembourg to France, when crossing the border into France, i would get the info that
1) on Tolled Freeways the max speed is 130 kph
2) Non Tolled Freeways max speed 110 kph.
3) Minor Highway 80kph and etc.When i drive into Germany.
1) Freeway 130 kph
2) Minor highway 90 kph

Suppress Repeat of Long-term Alerts
Suppress repeat audio alerts for "long-term alerts" such as red-light cameras. User to press a squelch button on the alert pop-up, so that subsequent drive by the same location won't trigger the audio alert.
This annoys me some, but my wife absolutely HATES it when Ms Waze blurts out "red light camera ahead" on the roads we travel every day. The squelch button would enable me to not only squelch Ms Waze, but also would make our marriage more enjoyable!
Those who like to hear the incessant warnings would simply not press the squelch for any given alert. Everybody would…

Passenger Assist/Remote Control Feature
I wish passengers could remotely control a driver's Waze app through the Waze app on their own phone.
It would be useful for when it's dangerous for the driver to interact with their phone or the passenger to reach over because the vehicle is on the move. Maybe it could be implemented by requiring both driver and passenger to have been friends on Waze and then comparing whether their spatial vectors are similar to prevent abuse. Swap the remaining time and distance on the bottom of the display (or make remaining time optional)
I drive an electric car, so remaining distance is important for me, but when I use waze in split screen mode, only the remaining time is visible.
It would be nice if I wouldn't need to enlarge the screen when I want to see the distance to destination.4 votes -
App freezing
App is often freezing while I’m driving, so I end up missing a turn, have to force quit and reopen app, then turn around to find turn. Please look into why this is happening. Happens almost every drive.

Voice commands immediately on Android auto
It is forbidden in most European countries that you use phone during drive. Voice command helped that. Please revoke voice commands, which worked pretty well in the past.

Update to run on background on Sync 3
The iPhone and Samsung devices recently released will show signs of burns when a picture is on for a long period of time. In this case since the screen has to be on in order for the car to run app its very bad for phone screen and can also make device get really hot and may start fire inside vehicle . I drive for hours at a time and i have noticed the heating problem. Please update app to run in the background with screen off.

Add option to display Gas Stations (as clickable icons) on main map screen without having to use menu.
Add the option to display gas stations on the main map as clickable icons, without having to go through the several menus (i.e. menu > gas > list > map... and all the way back) to visualize surrounding stations and return to main navigation map.
Clicking the gas station icons on the main map view should allow users to "navigate" directly to the gas station and also update the fuel prices (if within range).
Showing gas stations on the main map view has two main benefits:
Updating gas prices to nearby stations becomes much easier.
