   In Malaysia, when it rains, motor cyclists take shelter under flyovers and bridges. Therefore, if their waze was on, it would make your app think traffic is at a standstill.

   Another issue with motorcycles is, in Malaysia, Lane Splitting is not an offence, and most times, during slow traffic, motorcyclists travel at much higher speeds in between lanes!! This would create inaccuracies in traffic assessments on particular stretches of roads.

   Maybe the Waze app should have a symbol to indicate vehicle type prominently and allow users to change the type easily. Some people use motorcycles as well as cars, but normally just one phone!!

3. Turn traffic, ability to report and to use in navigation

   There must be an option to report traffic for a specific turn. The reason is that a given road may be moving well through an intersection, but specifically a left turn lane onto an intersecting road can be jammed. In such a case the navigator won't use that road to turn left and find another route.

   As an example. Let's say I am driving on Main St and there are 3 intersecting roads coming up, Street 1, Street 2, and Street 3. My destination is at Street 2, where I need to turn left from Main St. Waze doesn't know that the left turn from Main St to Street 2 is always jammed, because of bad streetlight timing or another reason, and it will direct me to turn left as Main St in general is moving great. If Waze knew that the left turn is at a standstill then it would have directed me to turn on Street 2 right and make a U-turn, or go further on Main St and make a U-turn, or any other way to get to the destination. If no alternative then of course choose the left turn.

   This ability to report traffic for specific turn should also work for right turns.

4. making sure Waze know what driver you are

   the past few months I've been getting tickets because i was driving in a bus lane. i never knew how i would end up in this situation. until i called up to pay a 500NIS ticket and the lady suggested i check my Waze setting to see what my car is registered under. unfortunately when i check it was registered as a taxi. i now know why i got all those tickets. i don't even remember it asking if i was a taxi, i have never been a taxi driver. all im asking from Waze ks to make a reminder when starting a new route to make sure the average driver isn't getting tickets like i was

5. Option to relax on route correction messages.

   If I've missed a turn, I tend to know it. If I'm unable to get to the lane required to turn around, the last thing I need is for the system to constantly spam me to make U-Turns, especially in locations where they're not permitted. Instead of suggesting U-Turns at every driveway, try to create a loop to turn around. U-Turns are inherently dangerous and spamming messages every few seconds only causes me aggravation as a driver.

6. TOWNS should be able to submit DO NOT USE THIS ROAD on certain roads

   Towns should have a way of reporting problems with rerouting. In the case of many small towns intersecting two major highways, not all roads are appropriate for heavy traffic.

   Towns should have a way to “prevent through traffic” on Waze, since Waze users totally blow off “no thru traffic” signs!

   For example, small towns still using one lane bridges need to be able to prevent over use and over-weight; afternoon traffic blocking residential roads just because someone is trying to bypass an on-ramp; especially tricks using small town roads not equipped for big trucks and curbs, lawns, and lights all being ruined because drivers are attempting shortcuts.

   I understand it can’t be a universal feature as then everyone will be using it in a “stay off my lawn!” function, but when towns are suffering traffic damage because an app is rerouting highway traffic through small roads, residential areas; when towns can prove this damage; when accident statistics climb so dramatically as to be frightening; when emergency vehicles cannot pass through routes because angry highway drivers are not obeying signs and laws; there should be a resource for the towns to reach out to these big GPS apps to block off certain routes.

7. Match multiple riders to unlock HOV for everyone

   In the San Francisco Bay Area, and many other municipalities, HOV lanes require 3 or more people to use. If Waze Rider had a feature that let you request an HOV carpool only, and would enable multiple matches so that you could get 3 people in the car (driver + 2 riders), everyone would save 45 minutes of traffic. That would be a huge incentive to get people to use the app, meaning easier and more matches and fewer cars on the road.

9. Temporary Speed Limits for Road Works

   I would like to suggest adding functionality to Waze that supports temporary speed limits on road segments affected by road works. This would work similarly to the current "Closures" feature in the Waze Map Editor (WME).

   Reason for Request:
   This summer, we have received numerous reports from drivers through the mobile app, indicating incorrect speed limits displayed on roads under construction. Currently, setting temporary speed limits and later restoring the original limits after the road works are completed is a time-consuming, double effort for us.

   A "Temporary Speed Limits for Road Works" feature would not only streamline the process of displaying accurate speed limits during road work but also allow us to retain the original speed limits without needing to manually restore them after the works are finished. This would improve efficiency and ensure accurate information is provided to drivers.

   Proposed Workflow:
   . In WME, introduce a "Road Works" option.

10. HOV depending on people in car

    As you plan a trip, if there are HOV lanes, the app should ask how many people are in the car so that you can be directed to HOV lanes if you pass the requirements for those lanes. Thx :)

    BROWN COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) — Drivers using some of the major interstates and highways in Northeast Wisconsin will now notice a new alert on message boards warning them when there’s a wrong-way driver.

    It is one of the scariest moments drivers could face — heading down the highway or interstate at 70 miles an hour and headlights come straight at you.

    Brown County Sheriff’s Patrol Captain Dan Sandberg says it’s all too common and often ends with someone injured or killed, as happened on I-41 in southern Brown County in August.

    “It’s almost a weekly occurrence that we have somebody wrong way on the highway. Just recently, again last week, had another wrong way driver on (Interstate) 43,” says Sandberg.

    So when he saw a story we aired recently about message boards in Milwaukee County alerting people about wrong way drivers, he set to work to make it possible here.

    A few phone calls and one meeting later, the new alert system was activated last Thursday.

    Four days later, it was already put to use for an elderly driver going the wrong way on I-43.

    “It could take the officers, depending on where they are, anywhere from a couple minutes to five minutes to 10 minutes to get in that area, and that’s extra time we can warn whoever’s driving on that highway,” says Sandberg.

    “And that way people can be paying attention to it, because if you’ve got two vehicles at speeds of 70-75 miles an hour towards each other, you don’t have much time to react.”
    Here’s what happens: The 911 call comes into the Brown County Communications Center. Deputies are dispatched, and immediately dispatchers then call the State Traffic Operations Center in Milwaukee, which controls DOT message boards and cameras.

    With the punch of a few buttons, an alert reading “wrong way driver reported: use caution” will appear on message boards on the roads where the driver was last seen.

    “If you see a sign come up, what you need to do is start paying attention to every car that’s coming in the opposite direction of you to ensure that vehicle is actually on the correct side of the roadway,” advises Sandberg.

    He says most wrong way drivers are in the left lane, thinking they’re on a two lane road, so if you see one, stay to the right and call 911.

    Sandberg says, currently, alerts can broadcast on message boards on Highways 172 and 29 and Interstates 43 and 41, where he says the majority of wrong way drivers are reported.

    But this is not just happening in Brown County. Sandberg says the Department of Transportation is working to expand the system to Outagamie and Winnebago Counties, too.

14. User preferences for level of detail in turn instructions

    I keep my audio set to "Alerts only" and am familiar with my metro area's turns and continuations and, when I preview my route's turns, I like for the list of instructions to be as concise as possible. I like that "View Only" instructions don't show up in that route preview.

    But, for a turn instruction to be spoken, it must also be included in that list of instructions. This makes it more difficult for me to distinguish the key turns on my route; it may also be an unnecessary level of detail for other drivers who are already familiar with the city.

    By creating user preference levels for the amount of detail in turn instructions, we could be more consistent in our application of the lane guidance's "View & Hear" and "View Only" options.

    Please add the option to report road closures due to events or street markets, including the dates and times of the closure. It should be possible to do this either before or after navigation—before departure or after arrival.

    Sometimes there are street markets or events, and advance signage is placed on the road stating that 'from/until this street will be closed to traffic.'

    If this information could be entered, Waze would avoid including that street in the proposed route.

    For example: I live near the stadium, and I know that on Saturdays when Torino plays, Via Filadelfia is closed to traffic for 24 hours. It would be useful to report or indicate this before starting navigation. I hope I’ve been clear and helpful.

    Add Global Entry as an HOV option.

    Global Entry is the US Trusted Traveler program that allows the traveler to cross the border under expedited scheme. NEXUS program currently available as an HOV option allows the user to travel through special lanes available on US/Canada border.

    These lanes while traveling from Canada to the US also allows the holder of the Global Entry to enter the US through NEXUS lanes.

    Similar is available for SENTRI lanes from Mexico to US.

18. toll booth alert off switch

    Ability to turn off Toll Booth alert

    99.9% of the time, I am driving the same roads as I'm sure most users are. That means I know where the toll booths are. In my area, they aren't booths, just cameras. The lanes don't get narrow or slow down. There are good signs that toll cameras are ahead. The alert from Waze is just a nuisance and there is no option to turn it off like all of the other alert types.

    Small request for improvement of the program:

    I think Waze should think to keep the alerts longer depending the ranking of the user (?).

    A lot of rookie wazers (I think) use the program without "liking" the alerts so they desappear too quickly and are not usefull anymore...

    For roadworks for example, it would be a good idea to have the possibility to set the duration in the mobile app ! Maybe not directly when driving but to let the program ask for a feedback about the works teached before the closure of the app or via an history of the alerts ?

    The Waze application requires immediate updates to resolve navigation and interface failures. The current design uses cartoonish language. This style reduces the professional utility of your tool. You must adopt a more mature visual language.

    ​Voice search fails to provide effective results. This malfunction creates safety risks for drivers.

    The map view locks during Android Auto use. You should allow users to move or adjust the map on the vehicle screen without touchscreen feature.

    ​The interface largelly displays recent routes immediately. This clutter slows down the navigation process and hinders the user's privacy.
