1. Improper hazard alerts for vehicles parked on road shoulders

   some roads have shoulders on one or both sides. We know that these areas are not traffic lanes, but are intended for vehicles to stop or park temporarily. However, every day, no matter which route I take, I keep receiving the alert “hazard reported – vehicle stopped.” I can see that people are reporting this incorrectly, since a vehicle stopped on the shoulder is not a hazard. This alert should only appear when a vehicle is stopped on the actual lane, truly obstructing the way. Therefore, I believe this warning should only exist for cars blocking the road, or it should be split into two categories: vehicle stopped on the road and vehicle stopped on the shoulder. It is frustrating for users to keep receiving hazard alerts and being forced to take extra caution when there is only a car parked in a safe place.

2. Automatically remove pop up boxes under certain conditions

   Please program an if/then response to automatically remove (without interaction) floating boxes when a road or lane change is required.

   Please make floating boxes automatically disappear within .1 miles of an intersection requiring a turn.

   They block the most important info that is needed, the actual map and road view.

   A priority rule should be programmed in the app.

   On highly congested roadways and unfamiliar highway interchanges, it is completely unsafe to read or click "still there" when that text box is covering all of the important lane information needed to get on or off in the correct lane of an unfamiliar highway interchange during rush hour. Stop and go traffic, multiple lanes, confusing maps, over crowded screen noise is unsafe under certain conditions.

   I highly suggest making a clean and crisp image of the roads and intersections the ONLY visible things on the screen within .1 miles of the turn or transition (.2 miles would be better).

   Top left is names of roads and distance. The rest of the screen should be an overhead view of upcoming roads with highlighted path.

   No blue pop up screens should ever be allowed for more than a couple seconds here. For safety, this has to be a quick notification and then disappear, if Waze deems it more of a priority.

   I don't know how many times I was driving through Chicago or the Twin Cities where the blue bubble was asking me if construction was still going on?!?!! It's fricken Chicago, construction will never end. I'm in a vehicle surrounded by intense and insane drivers driving cutthroat to get where they want to go and I can't see the overhead because I have to take my eyes off the road to lean and click a "still construction" blue box that is hiding my map... the main reason I use the app!

   It is not intuitive and it is unsafe and it causes stress.

   I cannot see what I am doing.

   I cannot read what the bubble says.

   I need to safely look in front and beside me and try to read road signs and I need to keep both hands on the steering wheel.

   Please write a program that removes everything but what is necessary to provide the service that people use your app for, when getting close to an actual turn or road change.

   Once the turn is made, go back to normal and use the blue pop ups to do whatever.

   The act of taking the eyes off of crazy traffic in an unfamiliar area to press a button on a pop up, just to provide access to the roadmap, is unsafe. It shouldn't require an interaction in certain spots.

3. A way to edit the map when not driving or passenger

   So I’m driving and I see a horrible accident on the other side of the road or on my side of the road. I’m focused on driving and I get a mile away from the initial accident there’s no way to go back and report it’s only when driving. Maybe I can get to report an accident on the other side but I don’t have the ability to report maybe it’s blocking the right hand lane as well there is no way to report that either as of now too. Maybe not even for passengers too like I know it can detect whenever you are driving so maybe when you’re not moving you implement a system to report in certain areas. Also like deleting things on the move I know you ask if it’s there but some people can’t get to it at times and so maybe deleting like road closures. I’m going on an off ramp and I see a closer in front of me but I’m not going that way but I see that it’s opened up now. Something for that I know it’s a lot but these are my ideas to help.

4. Deroute

   Hello
   Last time when I went abroad, the road closure was not updated on the map. So I had to turn onto a different road than the one in the navigation. The navigation kept trying to return me back to that turn even though there was a roadblock (since I don't know the area I don't think it would be appropriate for me to suggest a roadblock and it's not even safe to do it while driving).
   - My suggestion is that if I turn onto a different road to the one in the navigation, then let it offer a choice of whether it is my mistake or to choose a detour (perhaps suggesting a distance of at least 1-3km).
   - Another improvement I can see is that in this case I would like to see a colour resolution of the direction one-way road (so that I can quickly decide on a suitable detour and not get stuck on the one-way road and the prohibition again).
   - Another case is a bug (in Android Auto) where the navigation information about an accident, patrol, etc. overlays the information about the suggested lanes.

6. UNUSUAL Hazard Category Badly Needed

   Wrong Way Driver use extreme caution warning" was reported on 295 N in FL by a digital State sign. This is a major beltway around Jacksonville, FL.

   ALSO- interstate signs were knocked down by Helene (and laid in grass by state officials and workers)making difficult to know where to go. This caused brake slamming, near wrecks, sudden lane switching etc., as people tried to navigate splits and exits for 95 and 295, and not go miles and miles the wrong way. Again, only a comment.

   In Waze, I could only report a generic hazard with a comment only for 2 huge hazards. Please create a way to report UNUSUAL warnings so that other drivers can hear/see them without having to read comments. Thank you.

7. Improving on route and more functions.

   I been using waze daily for work as uber driver. There is time can be annoying when waze divert me to another route which is less traffic and mileage is far than origin route. This may cause additional cost on the fare and some riders may not feel comfortable if any route change. My suggestion to waze is have a option for waze as below:-

   1) Option to ignore traffic jams so we can maintain current route without any diversion to other route. Let waze user to choose to stuck in traffic or find alternative route. :)

   2) Option to avoid small country/inner roads due to inner road conditions may not be comfortable/too many turns/junctions.

   3) Lane assist for waze user due to turn to turn alert may experience delay/inaccurate.

   4) Navigation > Fastest/shortest route need improvement. Calculation on mileage/km still not accurate as it seems. During waze i find there is better route and nearer based on distance/Km compare to suggestion by waze.

   5) To add a economy route on navigation - based on nearest distance/km by using highway and mixture of non toll roads.

9. Android Auto Feature Parity

   Android Auto is lacking a lot of features as opposed to the mobile phone app.
   Many of them are already requested here, but I just see Ella (Waze team) marking them all as "NOT RIGHT NOW", without much extra info as to why not. ("Great thinking! We’ll share with the team; they’re always interested in new feature ideas.")
   @Ella please take the time to think them over a bit more critically, some are just absurd why they are not going to be implemented.
   For example one critical missing feature is reporting is road closures, triggering a reroute without that road. No way to do it.

   • Another missing feature is the "progress bar" while driving through an average speed check zone. I can imagine it would be pretty low effort to put a colored line at the side of the screen, especially since the Android app already has the logic for it.

   • Showing comments: no way to read a comment on the map (or even have it read out loud by assistant or something). This can often contain some critical information about an accident or closure.

   • When selecting a new destination, there is no option to select a planned drive or upcoming events from your synced calendars.
     I'm actually pretty certain this was actually there at one point. Where did it go?!

   There's a lot more, and it currently feels like Android Auto is just ignored a bit at the Waze offices.
   Please take this suggestion as a cry for help from an increasing number of vehicles with Android Auto built-in who really like Waze on their phone, but find the missing features really breaking the experience.
   Please try to have some more developers put on the Android Auto development for a few weeks / months to crank out some much needed features.

   If this isn't possible, at least try to get it done that we can use Waze on our phone while android auto is running. Now we can't even access the missing features without completely disconnecting our phone from the car to just report a road closure or something.

   Please, please help.

10. Less Handed use , using the detailes, that the app provide and use it well !

    When I have a turn or going to a junction , The WAZE knows how much meters I need to arrive to the point where i turn or change lanes , So this is the deal , while driving you can see how much meters or kilometers , you need till the next turn in addition to that the APP knows The speed of the driver , SO if you run this math -> S/V=T which is the time that i need till the point , so the APP will tell me that in 15 seconds (when T=15) to say , that there is a turn or to move to the nearest lane on the road ; and when (T=7) Tell driver that in 5 seconds you have to go right or left , when a driver is easier for him to know time he wont get wrong count , but by seeing meters you wont be able to mature it and to keep hands & eyes away from the phone , Its All About Listening also Focusing on the road ! less accedents and less problems !

11. We need the road blocked button back. There is no way of signalling that a road is blocked and no way through.

    There used to be a road blocked button. Now only lanes blocked. I have numerous examples of Waze showing a route through a blocked road. Alerts on road works or lanes blocked but still we a guided through where a road is blocked.

13. Return to original route if I deviate

    If there are multiple routes to a destination, I will choose the one which most suits me, even if sometimes it’s a little longer because it avoids difficult roads (I live in the countryside; there are a lot). But sometimes, for instance when one of my local roads floods, the way I prefer to avoid that road closure is not one of Waze’s options, so I will deviate from the route. Except after I do that, Waze will automatically put me on one of its other routes; often without saying.

    Please have an option that will allow me to lock-in a route or part of a route - regardless of traffic or whatever - and have it try to get me back to that route rather than only to my destination. Sometimes, adding four minutes to a 45 minute drive is what we want to do.

14. There needs to be more granularity on audio alert volume

    Someone else said “Audio alerts without voice guidance”, but that’s only half, and actually, exactly opposite of what I’d like.

    If there was separate volume slider for “Voice Guidance” and “Audio Alerts”, that would cover all bases.

    My situation is different than the other suggestion - When i’m on my 3 hour commute, there are SO MANY VEHICLES ON SIDE OF THE ROAD that my podcasts get interrupted every 3 miles.

    But because it’s 40 miles on one freeway, 35 miles on another, 45 on a third, and 30 on a fourth, i’ve zoned out and missed my exit, because I can’t keep GUIDANCE on but turn off the ‘guy ran out of gas’ alerts OFF.

    Those two cases would improve the app 100% for me.

    But I’d really like to have each group be mutable.

    I’d like to keep POLICE on, NAVIGATION on, HAZARDS off, CLOSURE on.

    Fine tune to what actually affects the drive.

15. Navigate to direction only works in parked gear

    At the moment the only way you can select a place to navigate to is possible when you are in parked gear in your car. The moment your car is in movement, you are unable to choose the point to navigate to. This includes being stationary on red light when the car is in drive gear.

    Comparing this to Google maps navigation where you can choose any of your recent addresses to navigate to and the only thing that is not available is using the keyboard.

    I understand the safety aspect of selecting the places to drive to when in parked, but it's not always possible and I would say it's actually less practical as sometimes parking in single lane roads just to choose where to navigate might be more dangerous.

    It would be helpful for people that do many drops or change the places to drive to often

16. Improved Screen Layout on Larger Screens

    Dear Waze,

    First, let me complement you on a great product. I use it almost daily.
    More importantly, you got a more meaningful compliment from Google on your great job.

    As a user of your product, please allow me some user feedback which I would hope you may implement in your product.

    Until now, I used Waze on different mobile phones.
    Recently I purchased a new car with a 7'' screen.
    After having used it, please allow me some customer feedback and suggestions for implementation relating to the way you display information on larger screens.

    Seems to me that you do not make and use of the heavy increased real estate (size of screen) you have at your disposal in most in-car display systems with 7-9'' screens.
    At the top of the screen is a black bar which is utilized by the car manufacturer for different displays such as WiFi icons etc. and the time.
    This space is not available for Waze. No worries.

    However, the remaining space is not well used at all.
    Below the black car bar not utilizable by Waze you put another black bar with your direction arrow (<-), distance (120m) and road name (461 מערב).
    But most of the black bar is unused and just wastes the heights of your map display.
    But worse than that, the size of your icons is exactly the same small size as on much smaller mobile phone displays, thus making it difficult to read the information at a glimpse (while driving).

    I therefore suggest a different organization of the screen as shown in Figure 2.
    The main screen should be divided approximately 1/3, 2/3.
    The right part with the 2/3 display should be with your Moving Map and the centered arrow showing the present location.
    Please note that in the present layout, the map display is wider. However since anyway the present location is always centered on the display, there is no benefit in the a little wider map display.
    The left part with the 1/3 display should be the re-arranged Info Window.
    The bottom bar with the Time to arrival (32min), EAT – Estimated Arrival Time (18:04), Distance to destination (14km) should remain as is.

    Please refer to Figure 3.
    The Info Window should include (from top to bottom, left to right):
    Significantly increased size indicator of upcoming turn (Left/Right Arrow) etc.
    Significantly increased size Street Name and Street Number.
    Indicator of upcoming turn (to allow selection of appropriate lane after the immediately upcoming turn). [NEW]
    Soft button () to select the Overview on the Map, displaying the complete trip from start to destination with present location (˄). [NEW]
    Speed indicator (as in your regular display).

    Following (Figure 4) please find a very rough sketch of the suggested Display (based on your actual screen).
    Please compare to the original screen display above (Figure 1).

17. Keep turn alerts on the screen!

    In the past if I had to turn off the main road to the left in 10 Km - I would have a left arrow on the screen showing 10 Km with the number decreasing as I approach the turn.
    For the past couple of years you've changed things around that on every approaching junction the left arrow turns to a straight arrow - making me fully confused as to how far my turn is.
    As a result of this change I have already missed many turns that I should have taken, because I was not properly prepared ahead of time to move to the left lane, or know how far the correct turn is.
    This is very frustrating and annoying. I really don't understand why I need to be alerted when to continue straight when I should constantly be shown when my turn is.

    Please bring back the old way of navigation!

18. Sharing Tips

    Sharing tips about an specific area, that would pop up as you drive. Remarks written by drivers for specify roads or areas, such as "people crossing out of crossing lanes", "wet when slippery", "skate boarders often on the road"....just random tips that the drivers could write according to their opinion. It could be turned off by the driver once he/she has read it and it would never show up again. Tips that locals know and can improve driving safety and it's hard to create specific topics. Just custom made tips.

19. Using Waze app in areas other than major highways!

    We are in Waterford Michigan and we love to use the Waze app when we go up north to our cottage and also to Canada to see our family. I see everybody using Waze on major highways and thorough fairs, but as soon as you get off the highway on two lane asphalt roads with police hiding, no one seems to be using their Waze app! You might wanna consider contacting some users and encouraging the group to use Waze on these roads, because a ticket is a ticket! When we get off the highway and have to drive another hour, or through these types of roads, we hardly see any people using Waze, so it loses its effectiveness… If everyone would ban together and keep using Waze on these off highway roads, we would all benefit!

20. Using streetview to show actual turns on screen

    I would like to use streetview pictures at junctions and exits so waze can show the actual situation on screen and highlight the lanes that people need to be in to follow the designated route.

    Arrows can be put as an overlay on the streetview picture to properly prepare people for what is coming.
