  2. PRICE MATCHING

Gas apps could provide the consumer with a way to start making gas stations compete with each other on pricing much like grocery stores, etc. I believe most retailers offer price matching and or acceptance of competitor coupons so maybe having these apps can start forcing gas stations to become a little bit more competitive within their communities. For the consumer that penny or two difference ultimately doesn't really make a huge difference to us but maybe also by doing this we can start teaching them to be less greedy because that penny across the thousands of people pumping gas…

  3. Save a route with stop(s)

If you are carpooling (or for another reason) with pick-up/drop-off points between the start and end points, it would be great to save this route with the stops as a preset or favorite. This also implies the suggestion already proposed to add the ability for more than one stop.

  4. Pot holes

Hello Waze can you add a pot hole alert, I drive early hours in the morning and late at night and cant see the pot holes in the road in time to avoid them, it would be great if you can warn traffic of pot hole so they can slow down to avoid them, there have been several accidents on our roads due to pot holes
When the pot hole is identified it should warn traffic going both direction approximately 50M before the pot hole
This addition to the app will be the same as reporting stationary traffic on the…

  5. Average Speed Cameras - NZ

New Zealand NZTA is introducing Average Speed Cameras which will detect your average speed over a long distance.

Can we implement a feature that will not only show you the start and finish point of the speed trap, but also your average speed whilst you’re within it to ensure you aren’t fined.

    Thanks team!

  6. Écran trop chargé

    Bonjour.

  7. Directions only audio

Currently there are options for audio to have alerts only or alerts and directions. It would be helpful to also have an option for directions only.

  8. Node Types - Multi use and meaningful for routes (Traffic Lights, Lane Guidance, etc)

An intersection always has a node, this node could become much more meaningful than simple turns and could significantly enhance the functionality of Waze (albeit with a significant development penalty).

By adding some logic to nodes you will be able to introduce some logic that will significantly enhance the ability for the routing engine to calculate superior routes when taking in things like traffic light penalties and other metrics.

    1) You can collect timing metrics for intersections much more efficiently, and potentially learn intersection timing and other factors which will help produce much more accurate route timings without depending on…

  9. CarPlay car audio Navigation volume test addition

I have noticed in two cars (my 2019 Nissan and a 2019 Subaru) that with CarPlay the "Navigation" volume can only be adjusted when the Waze app is actually "saying" something.
It is possible to stimulate a voice response (change to an alternate route and hit "go" or use the microphone to enter a nonsense command).
The addition of a "test navigation sound" to the "sound options" menu in Waze would be a more helpful and direct method to adjust the car's entertainment system "navigation" volume. Waze could just babble about something and show a tool tip "adjust car audio…

Viewing, posting and confirming "planned closures" of roads, streets, etc :

1- View on the map "planned closures" at a given future date.

2- View on the map if a given road had a "planned closure" at a given date in the past. (Helpfull to forsee road closures of annual upcoming events)

  11. Clicking any "All Turns" list item zooms to location (upcoming in route)

During navigation, there is no short/simple way to look at a location point of your route ahead. Regardless, a simple and low click, logical solution would be to achieve looking at your upcoming route point for traffic purposes (or whatever reason) would be looking at your "All Turns" list (1 click) then one could scroll through all the upcoming turns, select a location (2nd click), and the screen then reverts to your map route, but targeted to view the turn selected on the "All Turns" list. Returning to the original view where the experience started is as simple as…

  12. Background traffic info collection

Waze seems to have problems detecting traffic fast enough in zones where it isn't heavily used. In these zones other navigators simply do better in what Waze should be the king.
A solution might be adding an option to allow Waze collecting anonymous info such as user speed, location and direction even when closed, as a background service, to help increase traffic accuracy.
This way everybody with Waze installed can contribute to increase traffic accuracy (instead of just those who have the app actually running).
Since this can be considered a privacy concern for certain people, it could be done…

  13. Going home options

When the app first starts, it always ask if I'm going home. Many times I am, but I say no, only because I do NOT want turn-by-turn instructions for a route I know by heart and drive every day. The app should have the option to only show ETA and maybe suggest a new route for the traffic on my normal route home.

  14. Correction

In Brazil, using English directions, many highways are designated as "SP-###", which stands for "SãoPaulo". The audio direction is calling out ALL SP highways as "Sulfur mono Phosphide" which is a chemical formula abbreviation S P. Every time an SP hwy is called out, she literally says "sulfur mono phosphide" each time, rather than São Paulo, or simply SP. Needs correction. Very annoying 😑

  15. Animate rotary (traffic circle or roundabout) junctions

Animate the car icon when travelling around rotary junctions. Please.
At present the map swings around when travelling around a rotary junction. It can be easy to miss an exit when using rotary junctions with many exits. The moving map, as it swings around can cause confusion when to exit.
Other vendors have overcome this issue by keeping the map orientation fixed to the direction of travel across the rotary junction and instead animating the car icon moving around the rotary junction on the map. This makes it very easy to see when your exit is nearby.

  17. Why is your system so inferior to Google Maps? We did a side-by-side, and Google consistently was 30 seconds faster in giving direction??

Why is your system so much slower than Google (on a side-by-side basis)? Why does Google consistently suggest routes that, while maybe not quite as fast as your fastest routes all the time, are far faster than your #2 and #3 route, and which update much more frequently? Have you really looked at how competitive your product is versus them???

  18. incorrect directions, unable to respond to editor request on phone app

I was asked for more specific qustion about a map error and couldn't respond as there was no way that I could see how. I have responded in to map editors in the past but in this instance they asked for an address but I was unable to respong, therefor the case was closed when it REALLY needed to be addresse. Twice I was taken to the wrong place with the address. Even the receptionist at the business said that is quite the problem with the app as it is taking people to w. main instead of main. the address…

  19. Show directions in vehicle Dashboard

Recently Google Maps had an update so the turn to turn directions and are now shown in Ford Sync 4 vehicle dashboard. Apple Maps also has this feature for years. Can Waze also bring this functionality helping to see in the dash or head up display so we can keep more focused on the road? It would be fantastic if Waze can be on the same level as other navigation apps.

  20. Access Phone’s Calendar from Apple CarPlay

At the moment, you can access your iPhone’s calendar from the Waze app on the iPhone. This allows you to select the calendar item from Waze, and then Waze will automatically commence navigation to the address associated with the calendar entry.

Unfortunately this same feature isn’t available from Waze within Apple CarPlay.

This feature enhancement request is to request the same calendar access ability from Waze in the iPhone app is made available on the Waze Apple CarPlay app,

That way, you can get in your car, and from Apple CarPlay Waze, select the calendar entry appointment you are driving…
