  1. Add option to display SpeedTraps on main screen without having to use menu.

Add in the settings an option to display "Speed Trap" info on main screen. This would display in either the title bar or on the main screen and would have an icon with two numbers: A red number that indicates the # of speedtraps on your route, and a Yellow number that indicates the # of speedtraps not on the route. This would be very useful because speedtraps move (police pull someone over and then sit in new spot), so it helps to have more advanced notice that police are in the area.

  3. End traffic jam automatically

Have Waze detect when you've been traveling close to the speed limit for a while and mark the point you starting driving faster as the end of the traffic jam.

  4. Urgent hint to improve waze fast and easy and get many new users!

How? Speed camera alert (warning) is one of the best and attractive reasons to use waze especially for new users, that have already integrated or portable navigation systems. Mobile (!) Speed traps (cameras, but also radar guns etc.) are the traps, users have the most fear of. But most existing users of waze, who wants to report a mobile (!) speed trap mix up the confusing camera icon with the police (officer) icon, especially in the german version, where the camera icon is named "Blitzer" (means: "flash"). They report mobile speed traps (in german also named as blitzer; there is…

  5. Add Victoria, Australia Data APIs

The Victorian Government In Australia offers a number of Data API's that would be highly useful to have integrated into the Waze App
https://www.data.vic.gov.au/ which would allow an added depth of information to be added to the map, such as current road speed limit vs actual.
routing around known road events, such as road works or road closures etc...

    Specifically things like:
"Road Works and Events Points Snapshot"
    https://www.data.vic.gov.au/data/dataset/road-works-and-events-points-snapshot

    "Speed Sign Data"
    https://www.data.vic.gov.au/data/dataset/speed-sign-data

    "Emergency Road Closure Lines Snapshot"
    https://www.data.vic.gov.au/data/dataset/emergency-road-closure-lines-snapshot

  6. Add low-speed vehicle (LSV) option

LSV are allowed to drive on road not exceeding 35 mph. It would be useful to navigate only on these roads from point A to B.

  7. Implement burn-in protection for AMOLED-Displays

Many users of mobiles with AMOLED-Displays report severe burn-in when using Waze on an regular basis.

Please implement an option to activate a real good working burn-in protection.

    • Switching off (no dimming, the pixels must really be off!) the whole map if nothing interesting must be shown (no speed camera, no car on shoulder, no turn in 1 km or less).

    and

    • Rasterize next-turn bar, speedometer, report button, ETA-bar AND shift them a few pixels once per minute. (BTW: this is normal behavior on smartwatches used with display always-on for years)

    Thank you for your suggestion!
The Report button was designed to be noticed while blending in and it’s important to keep it as is.
However, we will revisit this idea when working on Dark mode, in the future. Furthermore, since this is a physical issue that OLED phones suffer from in different apps, we recommend to use Battery Saver mode to allow your display some rest from bright colors that might lead to this dysfunction.
Stay tuned for more features and updates on Waze’s social pages on Facebook and Instagram.

  8. I drive an old car that can't exceed 110km/h

I drive an old car that can't exceed 110km/h, since the ETA is necessarily calculated with speed max of each roads, with my car on a highway (130km/h) the ETA is wrong, would it be possible to set a maximum speed for my vehicle ?

  9. "Easy drive" mode

define the navigation logic so that it will skip narrow streets, traffic lights, stop signes, any road when the average speed is under 40 km/h etc. Allow for a 20% longer ride, but get me home fresh and not drained...

  10. maximum one report per X miles

    Hi there,

Waze is awesome and everyone is using it. Some like me to navigate from Northern Denmark all the way to Romania on holiday others just to find out about speed traps.

In Romania, Waze caught a lot of media attention so we have a lot of new users, who are obsessed with the points. The new users part is good. We get more reports, more places, we improve on the map problems and we know exactly where the police is :)))

But then due to the point system, the new users instead of thanking for a reported police…

  11. the option to chose critical overspeeding threshold (in km/miles like 2-5 mph for 70 mph speed limit or use percentage)

Good idea is to add the option to chose critical overspeeding threshold (in km/miles like 2-5 mph for 70 mph speed limit or use percentage). Flash (with sound) the screen when overspeeding or near of overspeeding occurs. And double/multiply earned points for safe and active drivers :) in dependence of time slot like a rush hour or happy hour or last week :) hope it helps!

  12. Quick report buttons

It would be a good idea to place some (2??) customizable quick report buttons on the main Map/interface; in such way we can report speed traps/ dangers/ police while we are driving with a single touch (or double to exclude unintended reports)!
There are too many menu/options to make a report... the only way to put them live is to stop the car and going trough a jungle of options... ( :geek: and I'm used to that! I'm an android user)
Heavy traffic is fine... you're stuck in your car and you've all the time to browse the options but…

  14. Police Notification Radius

When approaching a Police trap, I love the ability to be able to say if they are still there or not. Would like the ability to select if they are there or not for half of a mile or so after passing the original location. In my area, sometimes police will pull someone over, travel up the road a little, and resume their speed monitoring duties.

  16. Always announce cameras on smart motorways

Smart motorways have variable speed limits - suggest always announcing speed cameras regardless of the speed you are travelling at (motorway speed can vary depending on limit set)

When driving on a long straight road, when the alert is announced, it is too late to avoid long range speed cameras. Is it possible to adjust the timing of the alert announcement to give more time to warn of what is ahead ?

  18. Speed up Waze start or restart

I'm an Uber driver and use Waze all the time, however there are these confirmation screens (1) at a new route start that should be optional but are not. There is no point in showing the complete route everytime I start a new ride. It is enough having the button to show the whole map whenever I need to check the route. Also, whenever I restart Waze (2) he asks me if I want to
'continue' the previous route. Why asking this? Just resume the route and if I don't want it to resume I use the existing STOP button…

  20. Enforcement trailer

Germany and parts of Europe experience a whole new kind of speed cameras since a year or so, the so-called "enforcement trailers".
Since two months these are used on the german Autobahn on a regular basis.
The trailers are moved from place to place and stay there for up to two weeks. The places are used recurrent, e.g. there are 40 places in North Rhine Westfalia and 10 trailers, every place get's a trailer once in a while.

Marking them as mobile speed camera is useless, since they always disappear because of the low waze usage in germany.
    Marking them…
