1. Special calculation and result for motorcycle despite traffic jam

   Hi all,

   Sorry I do not want to create a duplicate but rather synthesize the idea (other posts talked about but are not totally clear)

   It would be cool to create a special motorcycle calculation, for big towns with big traffic jam (ex. Paris-France...) :
   the faster way, whatever, even if cars are bumpers to bumpers.

   Because even if you ride slowly between cars, it remains faster than another way (excepted if road is closed by police or whatever).

   It should be possible to choose this kind after choosing destination. For exemple, it would be really practical to have, after choosing destination, the way you want to go :
   1- Car or motorcycle
   2- Faster or shorter
   3- Toll or free
   and after validation, the 3 proposals.
   If Motorcycle have been chosen then the first way could be the "faster" way which ignores the traffic jam.

   ETA could be calculated with speed a 50 km/h when ascending queues of car.

   Thank you for your suggestion! As you may know, Waze already has Motorcycle Mode included in the app. To change your vehicle type, tap Settings > Car Details > Vehicle type.

2. speedometer alert

   I would love the speedometer sound alert to have an option for keeping the sound on until you drop back down to the speed limit. No it chimes very softly once when you ecceed the limit and then nothing. There should be sound options and volume options too. With all the other alerts i often miss the small chime telling me im going to fast. Then theres no way to know when im back at the limit unless i keep looking at the little speedometer on the screen. The more i can do without taking my eyes off the road the better! Help!

   Thank you for your suggestion! As you may know, Waze already displays a speedometer, including both your driving speed and the speed limit for the road you’re currently on.

3. Report Extended Events

   There are construction areas (for example) which stretch some length (a mile or more). It would be great to report these as an extended region, not a single point, since they're usually accompanied by a lower speed limit. They might be activated by an upward gesture of the report button (as opposed to the sideways gesture that the iPhone currently supports for traffic reporting).

4. Issues with new update

   There are a number of issues with the new Android Waze update. I think it is obvious that the developers use the app on a large screen. The speed limit and current speed are far too small to read while driving. The circle with the speed in it is about 1/2" in diameter on a 7" screen. The speed text and the speed limit are under 1/4" and are very hard to read.

   Also, when in full screen display, if one provides a location to navigate to, Waze shows the command in the dialog box, but does nothing. If one goes to the split screen, the destination just input is displayed and the itinerary can be started from there. It took me about 10 minutes of repeating the command, rebooting the car display, rebooting my phone, and just happened to see it on the split screen.

   After using Waze, and returning to the car to head home, It was nearly impossible to get Waze to activate Bluetooth and connect to my phone (Pixel 7 Pro). I rebooted everything, "forgot" all of my Bluetooth connections, and finally got it to connect.

   With the previous release, I never had these issues. So far, these are the major issues that I have discovered.

   PLEASE issue a quick update so that Waze is usable again. I may need to put my Garmin back in the car.

5. Use a voice command to ask from driver for traffic

   The most important report in Waze is traffic
   Create a voice command to ask from driver who drive slower than allowed speed (for example half) that "is traffic in this Ave heavy" and driver answer "yes" or "no" easily

7. Add "Residential Street" as an Additional Road Type

   There tend to be situations in which neighborhoods and suburban communities have systems of roads such that there are a few feeder roads that are intended to serve a network of smaller residential streets. In the current state of the map editor, it can be difficult to map such areas so that traffic is generally directed along the streets with higher speed limits and fewer driveways. Usage of the prioritizing functions and setting certain segments as private roads helps a bit to alleviate this problem. I am suggesting a new idea.
   Create a road type "residential street" for roads that should be generally avoided by through traffic. These roads might, for example, cause a routing penalty, discouraging using long stretches of residential streets or the routing system routing traffic to cut through neighborhoods. It may have a lower preference than a "street", but not carry as much as a penalty as a private road. The classification for residential streets may be optimally used for roads the primary purpose of which is to allow access to single-family residences or other low-density housing.

8. Show Speedometer outside Path Navigation

   Without the need to define a path, having the option to show the Speedometer outside a Navigation Session would be useful just to show the speed of the current user, either on a car, motorcycle, on foot, etc.

   This, with the addition of a full-screen Speedometer, would be even great.

   Great news! This functionality is already available in Waze. Via Speedometer settings you’re able to set speedometer and/or current speed limit to be always displayed in app – even in free drive mode.

9. Add fix camera on the app

   These days, there are many fixed speed cameras that suddenly appeared in Hungary.
   There are mobile cameras and police registrations on the screen, but there are no fixed speed cameras. It would be nice if you could add it. Thank you.

10. fade out old road traffic instead of not showing at all

    at the moment I can only see recent traffic reports, but not those that were reported for example 20minutes ago.
    It would be much more helpful if the client would always show the latest reported road traffic status.
    the color could be faded out over time to indicate how old a report is.
    the client should offer an option of the maximum age of reports that should be displayed and if a wazer reports that the road is free again, then the old report needs to be removed.

11. Units and Alerts to be changed

    Please add the function to change from Feet to Yards and to please always alert the driver of a speed camera with a sound.

    Due to these reasons I do not use Waze, but with these features I would used it every day

13. Allow reporting of New Incidents while an Alert is active (Android Auto)

    When using Waze on Android Auto, if an active alert (e.g., speed camera, crash, lane closure) is currently displayed on the screen, the button to report a new incident becomes inaccessible or disappears.
    To submit a new report, the driver is currently forced to first accept or close the existing alert. This is highly impractical and potentially unsafe while driving.

    This limitation prevents users from easily reporting multiple, co-located events (like a lane closure and a crash) in densely populated areas where multiple things often happen near each other.

    I suggest that the Report Button should remain visible and accessible on the Android Auto interface, even when another alert or warning is being displayed.

    This would allow drivers to immediately report the event they see without needing to interact with the current alert first. The Waze platform can later handle the filtering or merging of similar reports to prevent duplication.

14. Waze sometimes finds destinations in other countries.

    I live in Canada and I've gotten routes to England and the western United States. Please allow setting a maximum distance or zones around where a driver is.

15. Display speeds higher than 234km/h.

    GPS devices are allowed in passenger aircraft, and work fine with offline maps.

    It seems, though, that the speed indication doesn't go above 234km/h.

    Airplanes easily exceed this.

    Yes I know the primary use is for driving, but sometimes it is nice to use other ways.

    Waze could display the speed limit of the road we are driving, and warn the speed limit of the speed controllers we are passing.
    Others devices have this improvement.

17. External screen (usb or bluetooth)

    Hello.
    I would like to have an external Head up screen (without using my phone). I am thinking using a screen controled by an arduino. Is it possible to have a plugin for Waze that send some data (speed, speed limit, warning) to the USB or bluetooth to screen it ?
    I will be please to developp the screen and arduino interface.

18. Remove "Missing Overpass" map error report category.

    That vast majority (all but maybe 1 or 2, in all the time I have been editing) of reports for "Missing Overpass" have been for overpasses that exist on the map, but are invisible at highway speeds on the app. Because some users do not understand how speed-based zoom works, that assume these overpasses are missing, and report every one they drive under until someone responds to a UR explaining why they don't see them. This is causing a large amount of unnecessary UR's and subsequent follow-up. In the US anyway, it would seem we could do completely without this reporting category option.

19. Radar audio warning trigger model

    I don't know if this is a new topic or not, but this is a problem that I've encountered wherein the normal Waze behavior is almost like a bug.

    How it works today
    The visual on screen warning for a Speed camera is based on distance only. I.e it will always show on-screen when the driver is X meters from the camera.
    However, the audio warning for a speed camera only activates if you pass the "detection distance" and are "over speed"

    Problem
    In this specific case, the radar is a 70 km/h radar. The detection distance however is when the driver is still in a 30 zone. Very few drivers will drive above 70 km/h there.
    Also, the Audio warning only triggers once. What I mean by this is that Waze will only trigger the audio warning when both of the following conditions are met simultaneously:

    if the driver enters the detection distance
    and is at over speed.
    

    This means that if the driver after passing the detection distance speeds up to a speed greater than the radar, he will still not receive an audio warning.

    How it should work
    The audio warning should trigger anytime:

    the driver is inside the detection zone
    and is over speed.
    

    The difference here is zone vs distance. The app should play an audio warning as soon as the driver's speed increases past the radar speed and is within the zone preceding the radar. It should also trigger again if the drivers slows down to a speed below the Radar and then back up again while in the zone.

    I don't know if this is a new topic or not, but this is a problem that I've encountered wherein the normal Waze behavior is almost like a bug.
