Personalized route selection
I frequently drive a hundred mile route between 2 cities. I like to use Waze for road alerts along the way. There are at least 3 major routes that I can take, each within 15 - 20 minutes difference in duration. Waze always chooses the shortest duration route but I prefer a slightly longer route on a less busy route. I do not want to be bombarded with directions to MAKE A U-TURN, TURN AROUND. How about a little AI to recognize, "oh he ALWAYS takes this route to that destination." Obviously, it would still be nice to…

Display Saved Time when Waze changes the route in case of traffic
The idea would be to be able to accept or deny the route change when Waze decides there is a best route than the current one.
In other words, let us accept or not to switch to the new route depending on haow much tilme is saved. For me saving 1 to 5 minutes on a new route is not always necessary.6 votes -
Add Regular Route
I hope I can explain this well.
I have my regular route to work and back set by waze everyday. By now I have driven the route hundreds of times and know how to get to work. What I would like is to save this regular route (or whatever you want to call it) and not hear direction commands (exit in 4.1 miles, turn left. etc..) unless there needs/has to be a change in my route because of traffic/an accident/construction.

"We have a shorter way" - Option available "Okay"
I intentionally choose NO TOLLS when I travel. It is less expensive and usually a more scenic route. I have been having trouble that the We have a shorter way pops up and I don't want to choose Okay because I already have the route I want so I ignore thinking that must default to keep as I'm going.
Seems it does it anyway because all of a sudden I'm on toll roads. I think you should have a yes or no option.

Push notifications for events on route
for next version I would love push notifications from the locked screen when events occur on your chosen route, or if a re-route is necessary.

Choose use of higways or not upon entering navigation or right after entering navigation info
Make a popup asking if we want to use the highway or not when we enter navigation info that is easy to find. We dont always need to use the highway and its not easy to find that option if we are in a hurry or just want to take the scenic route to a destination. We should easily turn it on or off, thanks.

Never change my NON-TOLL route to a TOLL ROUTE without my explicit permission
We are on an extended road trip. We EXPLICITLY told Waze to avoid TOLLS. As you are driving along, Waze will pop up and suggest going the toll route because it will be faster, albeit, more expensive. If you don't happen to see the pop up and don't select "No Thanks", Waze WILL SWITCH IT AUTOMATICALLY to the TOLL ROUTE. If there's another setting to stop that, I haven't discovered it yet. You SHOULD NEVER EVER change my route just because it's faster without my explicit permission to do so.

report route change due to traffic
It happens a lot that the route is taking me to a heavy traffic road. I turn to avoid it, but can't report it. It would be great to have a pop-up when avoiding the suggested route to ask if it's due to traffic

I know there are websites that already offer this but would like to see on waze where I can add a series of addresses and waze would suggest the best route with the possibility of adding addresses after.

Type of Route Options Preference settings
I frequently drive a route that gives me the option of taking a toll road or driving on the non-toll route or taking streets - but when I look at the routes available to me, I am not able to compare the time savings of taking the toll road vs the non toll version of the road. I am only able to see toll road, or a street option, or an alternate freeway option. I would really like to be able to see the difference in commute time if I jump in the HOT lane vs not paying toll…

Please add the ability to search for closest poi to my current route.
If I am already driving using your app, I would like the ability to search for food, a bank, or a coffee shop not too far off my route. You guys already calculate the time off route but if you add my suggestion it would make your app that much better.

Show potential variance in route time
It seems that Waze picks the best route at the time navigation starts.
With all the timing and route information that Waze and Google collects, it should be easy to calculate a good variance for the time of day.
It might be nice if Waze could display a midspread or "middle 50%" time, i.e. the time estimate for 50% of all drivers on that route at that time of day.
So maybe below the estimated arrival of "9:02", it would show "(9:00 - 9:15)"
It'd be even better if it took this into consideration when routing, like preferring a "9:03…

Alternative Route
1) Would like to input "Avoid this city/area". For instance Chester,PA supposedly has a "body challenge = body count" confirmed by the Chester Police Dept. where random people in cars are being killed. Would be nice to be able to avoid this city/area if I-95 is closed/blocked. 2) ALSO, would be great to log in an alternative route and SAVE IT with a name you choose. Thx so much! I LOVE Waze. Waze rocks!

Get a list of directions for a given route.
Sometimes it's hard to evaluate a route choice from the descriptions. It would be great if a route could be listed in text (one line per step) so that the route options could be evaluated more easily.

Update of alerts/incidents on the route based on the progress of the route.
Update of alerts/incidents on the route based on the progress of the route. Currently, when you access the route view with the button on the right (up arrow), a start/end line with the incidents is displayed. But these incidents always appear from the start and not from the current point of the route. I think they should be updated, since alerts that have already happened can appear and confuse the driver.
