   Utilisateur depuis vos débuts en France, je vous félicite — j’utilise Waze tous les jours dans mon activité d’artisan. Suggestion : ajoutez un profil « utilitaire » (hauteur, longueur, poids) et la possibilité de basculer entre plusieurs véhicules. Aujourd’hui, Waze ne distingue que Privé / Taxi / Moto et ne prend pas en compte les restrictions de gabarit. Il y a peu, je me suis retrouvé face à un tunnel limité à 2 m alors que mon véhicule fait 2,40 m : obligé de faire demi-tour, ce qui a considérablement rallongé mon trajet. Cette amélioration rendrait Waze encore plus performant pour les pros. Merci !

2. Green Wave Zones

   Hello everyone! I really regretted that the Waze development team ignored the users request and did not develop to the Average Speed Zone (ASZ) remaining time slot indicator. I continue to support the idea that there should be indikator, some kind of speeding explanation is not appropriate here. If needed, the indicator can be rounded (e.g. like the EU required false speedometer displaing) or some other a bit fuzzied indication can be shown. However, it would now be a suggestion to take advantage of the built ASZ logics and use exactly the same functionality for the up Green Wave Zone (GWZ). The logic can be taken almost the same as currently used for ASZ in WMEs and Waze client. The allowed speed is marked to the segment, in the client the green light or bar (like ASZ on right side of display) is shown in the forum as long as the wazer does not exceed the green wave speed, and if it exceeds, the red is shown. In the WME, everything would run like ASZ creation. The only restriction could be that if there is an ASZ, the GWZ cannot be put in.

3. Improve Waze for all (professional drivers like taxi drivers, truck drivers and bus drivers as well)

   Feedback for Waze Improvements (Australia-specific but globally relevant):
   1. Map and Speed Limit Accuracy
   • Please update maps and speed limit data more frequently, especially in Australia where road rules and limits are often updated.
   • Ensure that the speedometer always shows the correct speed limit without disappearing or failing, as this can mislead drivers and cause unintentional speeding.
   • Improve reliability so the speedometer never stops working unexpectedly.
   2. Audible Alerts and Driver Focus
   • Introduce louder and clearer spoken alerts for every speed limit change, so drivers do not have to look at their phone screen.
   • Provide audible alerts for all types of cameras (speed cameras, red-light cameras, mobile speed traps, school zone cameras, bus lane cameras, etc.), not just fixed speed cameras.
   • This would greatly improve driver safety and focus on the road, especially for professional drivers who cannot afford distractions.
   3. Truck and Bus Navigation
   • Add full navigation support for all classes of heavy vehicles, including:
   • Light Rigid (LR)
   • Medium Rigid (MR)
   • Heavy Rigid (HR)
   • Heavy Combination (HC)
   • Multi-Combination (MC)
   • All categories of buses.
   • Include truck- and bus-specific routing options, such as avoiding low bridges, restricted roads, weight limits, and bus-only roads.
   • Many drivers who rely on Waze for personal car trips would also like to use Waze for their professional work in trucks and buses, but currently, Waze does not fully meet these needs.
   4. Professional Driver Use Case
   • Waze has a huge opportunity to support professional drivers (truckers, bus drivers, delivery drivers, etc.) who want the same smart navigation and community-based alerts they enjoy in their cars.
   • Expanding features to include heavy vehicle navigation and more robust audible alerts would make Waze not only the best app for personal use but also the top choice for professional driving.

4. Zooming

   Please let people zoom out or in as far as they want to not restrict zooming sometimes it is necessary to see the states that you’re traveling through for instance I carry concealed I need to see the states that I travel through and I cannot zoom out far enough to see the individual states please fix this as soon as you can
   In other words do not restrict zooming you should be able to zoom out as far as you want please do not restrict this feature thank you

5. Contextual road navigation elements

   Waze (so far) does not fully account for overall road context in navigation. We've (ie. my partner and I) have found it treating all roads equally when picking a route, whether urban, rural, wide, narrow, usually parrtially blocked by parked cars, etc. So, I suggest adding a set of options to the system and the navigation algorithm which allows weighting by road type. This could be selected or deselected manually by the user, with some default setting sets (ie. "Prefer Highways", "The Scenic Route", etc).

   Based on roads we've used, we suggest the following classifications:

   Highway
   Fast-moving multi-lane road with significant limitations on stopping and parking, subject to national and regional restrictions.

   Primary Thoroughfare
   Open and readily navigable, with fast-moving traffic depending on conditions. Parking may be significantly restricted.

   Secondary Thoroughfare
   Open and readily navigable, with some parked vehicles or other roadside obstructions not significantly limiting passage. Urban traffic flow may cause traffic jams or be subject to bottlenecks in places. Rural roads of this kind may lack street lighting. Roadside parking may be available based on national and regional restrictions.

   Side Road, Urban Residential
   May be narrow and/or difficult to navigate due to residential parked cars or other obstructions. Parking may be limited and subject to permit. Consider whether parking obstructs residential property access.

   Side Road, Urban Industrial
   Mostly open and navigable, with a high prevalence of industrial vehicles. There may be roadside hazards associated with industry. Consider whether roadside parking may be safe and appropriate if space seems to be available.

   Side Road, Rural Narrow
   May be insufficient for two vehicles to easily traverse side by side and may be a single-vehicle width. There may be very limited passing places. Visibility ahead may be limited due to high foliage or other peripheral vision obstructions. Passage may sometimes be obstructed by agricultural vehicles or livestock. There will be no street lights and parking is likely to be hazardous. May be particularly hazardous to navigate at night or in severely adverse weather.

   Side Road, Dirt Track
   May be hazardous to navigate without use of a 4-wheel-drive vehicle. Conditions may otherwise be similar to "Side Road, Rural Narrow".

6. Blue light routing

   Allow for emergency drivers to configure routing to ignore restricted roads/signs which they have a legal exemption for decreasing response times to those in need!

7. More voice warning before freeway exits, regardless of speed

   I noticed that the location of the voice instruction you hear before a freeway exit varies based on how fast you're going.
   Around 100 km/h, you get the voice instruction 1.5 kilometres before your exit.
   Around 80 km/h, you get the voice warning about 1 km before the exit.
   Around 60 km/h, you get the warning just 300 metres before the exit.

   It's the last one that I think is a problem. Some drivers rely mostly on the voice instructions either because we don't have a phone stand or because of restrictive laws regarding phone use while driving. And if you're on a freeway that has, say, 5 or more lanes, then regardless of what speed you're going at, 300 metres of warning before the exit simply isn't enough. The driver might suddenly have to dart across 5 or more lanes in 300 metres just to make their exit, and that's far too dangerous.

   Even at lower speeds, especially for roads with many lanes, such as freeways, Waze voice instructions should give greater warning before the next turn or exit - e.g. 1 or 1.5 km in advance, like we already get at higher speeds.

8. Amber colored checkerboard for local traffic only

   Hey Waze. Can you guys look into adding an AMBER colour checkerboard icon to denote restricted roadway in terms of lane reductions or open to "local traffic only", but not completely barricaded like what the red checkerboard would denote?

9. HGV Fuel

   Add a feature to search for specific HGV fuel filling stations. Manyfilling stations can't accept an HGV due to access or height restrictions. Many filling stations have seperate filling pumps for HGV with a high flow rate as well as more headroom and no tight turns.

Meine Beobachtung war in der Dresdner Innenstadt, dass die App zwar auf die Verkehrsleitlinie hinweist, aber das falsche Tempolimit anzeigt, denn in unserer Gegend gibt es ziemlich viele Orte, an denen abends von 22:00 bis 06:00 Uhr ein Tempolimit von 30 km/h gilt: 00, dies sollte in der App verbessert werden. Als nächstes sollte entwickelt werden, dass ein Rotlichtmotiv hinzugefügt werden soll, um die Ampeln zu warnen, bei denen der Verkehr nicht nur die Geschwindigkeit misst, sondern auch die Stopps an roten Ampeln überwacht, was Sie natürlich in der Beschreibung unter demselben Link finden können. 11. Dynamically configure waze session based on Bluetooth connection (for motorbike/car/truck)

    Certain apps have the ability to detect what Bluetooth device is connected.

    My suggestion is to allow users to pre-configure different Bluetooth connections to different vehicular modes, for example, a Bluetooth headset may be used on a motorbike and therefore Waze could detect that this Bluetooth connection is present and set itself for motorbike mode, likewise, an in-car radios own Bluetooth connection could be configured for a car, and finally, a different Bluetooth connection could also be configured for a truck, I envisaged then that this would allow users to predefine certain options like toll passes, low emission zones and parking restrictions etc. All based on the current Bluetooth connection method.

    For example, motorbikes are allowed toll-free within low emission zones and also are free within toll roads, this could be allowed to dynamically configure routing for the motorbike where it will be optimal to use tolls as they are free, whereas for cars, there may be a toll pass required, or for trucks certain roads are impassable, again, this all could be dynamically pre-configured by the user depending on what device it is connected to on Bluetooth.

    Currently, the user interface for changing between cars and motorbikes and adjusting any toll or highway settings is very cumbersome and requires a lot of user input to change between the two. Also, this may lead to unexpected charges if a motorbike user forgets to change Waze from motorbike mode (where tolls are free) and inadvertently uses Waze while still configured for motorbike mode while driving a car.

    The clunky user interface does not invite users to easily change between the two.

    Furthermore, the ability to easily change between different vehicular modes allows users to pre-configure. For example, a motorbike may not wish to go on a motorway where as the same owner may wish to drive their car on a motorway. Having the ability to pre-configure motorbike to car to truck depending on Bluetooth connection method I feel is a useful system update

12. Use my device's GPS accuracy to determine route stickyness

    I often find myself "stuck" to parallel roads because Waze routed me that way and I "must" be following the route--even though my GPS places me over 20m (65ft) away!
    When I go to Taco Bell on my way to work, it's so I can go through the drive thru, NOT so I can roll past the front door as Waze would have me do. But the 15m (50ft) out of the parking lot is "close enough" to assume that I'm following the route.
    This also happens when I'm trying to train Waze to take a longer route out of my parking lot to a shorter wait at a light. Waze misses that I didn't turn out of the parking lot and am on a parallel road 65m (80ft) away, and just assumes I'm on the road it wants me to take.

    Update the "route stickiness" algorithm to stay locked to the nearest segment within, say, 1.25 * the current accuracy. The GPS in my phone is usually accurate to within 3m (10ft). At time's, I've had as bad as 10. Even this should be good enough to determine when I've left a parking lot.

    Part of this may have to do with things like large intersections where the junction node in the middle could be 10-15m away from a vehicle taking a right turn, but surely that can be tweaked for the street type, i.e. tighter tolerance for streets and parking lot roads, wider tolerance for primary streets and highways.
    Incidentally, I think freeway interactions are restrictive enough that you can probably keep them tight too. I know it often takes a while for Waze to realize I've taken an unexpected exit. I mean, I can be on one of two different segments and I just slowed down drastically, where the heck do you think I am!?

    Perhaps transitions to/from parking lot roads or ramps could incorporate some kind of delta-v tracking.

13. when wazers are regularly exceeding the speed limit on non-highways, waze should stop sending people on that route.

    If Wazers are exceeding residential speed limits, it creates a hazard for everyone in that area. Waze should collect data about the amount of drivers who are exceeding speed limits and then restrict usage of those roads because it is a public safety issue.

    Drivers may be going through areas where there are children, joggers, bicyclists, and others who are now at risk because people are exceeding the speed limit while looking down at their phones to get the next GPS instruction.

    Please allow business owners to easily claim or add, and manage their business locations. I am a marketing manager of a franchise business with multiple physical locations across the country. I checked Waze and most of our locations are completely missing. I am unable to add any location because of the map editor restrictions regarding my physical location. 15. Need for Brazilian app: new category for segment (viela) like (dirt roads)

    In Brazil government allow traffic in "viela", first "viela" is a drivable road normally between houses. At the moment this segment is categorized/translated as "pedestrian broad walk".

    I suggest that that a new type of segment is created "viela" for Brazilian app and Waze editor, since it doesn't share the same restrictions as "pedestrian broad walk".

    I also suggest the creation of a button like the existing "dirt road" since some drivers don't like to use "viela" to move arround.

16. I want back the ALWAYS LIGHT MODE in CarPlay

    I have read that lots of people complained about not having dark mode.

    But I need the ALWAYS LIGHT MODE due to its much easier readability in CarPlay.

    Right now dark mode is enforced, because I have two options in CarPlay settings with IOS Waze 4.79: dark or automatic. In case of automatic when the headlights is switched on then dark mode is activated.

    It happens so EVEN IF I CHOOSE DARK OFF in the app settings on my iphone.

    Please revert to a 3-way solution in CarPlay:

    1. ALWAYS DARK MODE

    2 ALWAYS LIGHT MODE

    1. AUTOMATIC

    why the **** should the users be restricted? Please keep in mind that people have different eyesight ability.

    I would like to suggest an important improvement to the app: adding a button at the beginning of each drive to select the type of vehicle – such as private car, truck, commercial vehicle, bus, etc.

    As a truck driver, I often get directed to roads that are not suitable for heavy vehicles – including narrow streets, bridges with height restrictions, or roads where commercial vehicles are prohibited. These situations cause delays, frustration, and sometimes even safety hazards.

    I believe this feature would greatly enhance the user experience and allow for more personalized and safe navigation.

18. Avoid Specific Countries When Routing

    Hello Google Maps/Apple Maps/Waze Team,

    I would like to propose a very important routing feature that is currently missing from all major navigation apps:

    📌 Feature: Avoid Specific Countries When Routing

    Users should be able to select one or more countries they do NOT want to enter during navigation.
    Similar to “Avoid highways” or “Avoid tolls,” but for entire countries.

    Why this feature matters:

    In many regions (especially the Balkans, Eastern Europe, Middle East, etc.), some users are not allowed to enter certain countries due to political restrictions, documentation issues, or border regulations.

    Currently:
    • Google Maps/Waze/Apple Maps will often propose routes that cross forbidden borders.
    • Users have no way to block entire countries from the route.
    • This creates serious problems during travel.

    Example:

    A driver in Bosnia may not be allowed to enter Serbia or wants to completely avoid passing through it.
    But the navigation app still suggests Serbia as the fastest route.

    The feature would allow:
    • Selecting a list of “Forbidden Countries”
    • Routing engine automatically avoids those territories
    • Rerouting warnings when approaching restricted borders

    Immediate benefits:
    • More accurate and safer navigation
    • Higher trust in the app
    • Better usability for millions of users worldwide
    • Avoiding legal issues or accidental border crossings

    This is a small feature to implement but would greatly improve safety and accessibility for users in many regions.

20. EV features aren't currently supported in mycountry

    EV features aren't currently supported in my country Costa Rica. We don't have license plate restrictions for electric vehicles and the days that plate matches the gasoline and diesel cars restritions I get not optimal routes.

    Please enable EV features, including no license plate restrictions.
