Enhancing Waze with User-Contributed Neighborhood Names
As an avid user of Waze, I've experienced firsthand the convenience and efficiency this remarkable app offers. From navigating traffic congestion to discovering new routes, Waze has revolutionized the way we travel. However, there's always room for improvement, and I believe one feature that could significantly enhance the app is the ability for members to add neighborhood names to city maps.
Why This Feature Matters:
Local Insights: Who better to accurately name and define neighborhoods than the residents themselves? By allowing users to contribute neighborhood names, Waze can tap into local knowledge, ensuring that the app reflects the true identity…

Message from a user reporting the end of a closure, does not indicate the location
As a map editor, we can sometimes insert numerous closures in one day, due to construction or traffic events.
When a user reports that a closure is no longer active, I, as the editor who created it, receive a message in my application. However, this message only indicates the information that the user reported. Example: “This road is not closed”
This does not provide additional information, such as the name of the road or even the location’s PL. If I create a lot of closures, I can’t identify which location it is.4 votes -
Move Ferry, Railroad and Runway/Taxiway road types away from road type fast selection buttons
Those mentioned road types are about as rarely needed as the walking trail so moving those away from the normal road type selection buttons would be reasonable, there's no sense to keep those there. Maybe make submenu of those + Walking trail to that part of Unify Action Area?
This would have 2 benefits, it saves a little more of that limited space on left panel and also it helps to prevent accidental clicks which change road type and may go unnoticed when editor hits Save.

Need to add the option to change a roundabout if it is no longer there.
If construction has occurred and a roundabout is no longer there, we need the option to change the map to a straight street.

Remove bots from the last editor's username (updated field)
Lately, the last editor who edited an object appears to be a bot. There are a few names for bots: "matching feed 1", "waze-maint-bot", "Avsil".
IMO only human editors should appear as the last editor in the "updated" field. For example, if someone uses a script to filter edits done in the previous month, the filter includes many edits done by a bot, which is not what the user wants to see. The bot's name hides the name of the last human editor.
It is suggested that bots will not appear in the "updated" field.7 votes -
Seaarching on crossings
By long streets, it is easier to place two street names in the searching box so you can find direct the correct crossing, like it is possible in Google Maps

GASOLINERAS GLP y ELECTROLINERAS
Different layout for RPPs: visible numbers
Hi,
in my city there is a big number of RPPs due to side roads.
I often add them and, since there no way to copy-paste an RPP (this could also be a suggestion), I often copy road's name, then add the number and submit.
Maybe that sometimes I forget/miss to Apply road name/number, so I get no-way, no-city, no-number, but RPP's triangle doesn't allow me to notice my mistake.
It would be nice if (at least) the address number appeared on the RPP within the map, in order to check its value.
Another use for the enhancement would be…19 votes -
I would like the Level 1 Gold cloud to be a Normal NoN damaged Gold Cloud
I understand that new users are given beginning editing tools that culminate in results that would resemble the current status of the picture. Having had premium hands on knowledge with Photo/Video editing software I came to the conclusion that many mistakes were made because of the Waze editing software.
I have my name to this account and would like to request the picture represents Gold is a better light.1 vote -
Edit in easy Residential/Commercial Construction Area on Level 1
I was looking to add an easy designated construction area with an entrance that would have its own designation instead of placing it under "Other" on my Level 1. The residential/commercial project also dose not have a name so I placed the Company, and project affiliates in the description.
The edit submitted seemed to be dry and non-descriptive because of the lack of options. I am not looking to apply for a larger numerical level, but would prefer that the Level 1 be updated on the computer dashboard.
There are major construction obstructions on the street that have no designation…1 vote -
Enhanced Dynamic Segment Creation and Editing
Dynamic Curve Adjustment:
I propose introducing a dynamic segment creation tool in the Waze Map Editor. This tool would allow users to create a segment by selecting the start point and the endpoint, and then dynamically adjusting the curve by dragging the segment with the mouse. Additionally, the properties menu would enable further adjustments, including angle degrees, after the segment has been created.
Users can click to set the start and end points of a segment.
The segment curve can be adjusted in real-time by dragging with the mouse, providing a more intuitive and precise way to shape roads.Copy…

See Editable Areas and Area Managers when zoomed out
The layers "Editable Areas" and "Area Managers" are only visible at zoom layers 12 and above.
It would be helpful to see these layers at larger zoom levels to better understand what areas you can edit, and who the relevant Area Managers are.

5 Digits for Gas prices in Colombia
In colombia the prices of Gas and Diesel have 5 digits, but when a lot of wazers wants to update the prices, in the App we find that in the moment to write the updated price at the 4 digit in the cell the cursor jumps to next cell, this produces in the map wrong prices and wrong ranking of Cheap and Expensive gas stations.

Public construction site road network editors
Creating an account for construction site managers to be able to add site road networks and speed limits within private construction sites. This would enable clear directions within private construction sites with detailed information including specific delivery locations, specific work zones or site offices, etc.
The feature could be made available per construction site to a selected manager and a secondary person under an approved waze editor who would validate additions / changes before they are published to ensure they are valid.
This could potentially also be a revenue stream as you could have a small subscription fee to enable…1 vote -
Expand original category of a new place
Today, when adding a new place, we cannot assign to it a specific sub-category at once (except sub-categories of Car Services). We have to assign a generic category, then remove it and either enter the sub-category directly, or add again the proper category, expand it, and select the sub-category from the list. I suggest enabling expanding of the originally assigned category similar to categories added later.

In Greenville, WI, most of our addresses start with a letter in front of the number (e.g., W6000 Greenville Dr). Can you allow letters in the street number to ensure accuracy?

Recategorizing UR's when solving
Add a feature to WME to recategorize the Solved UR's when closing those. This would give Waze a true insight of what reports are really needed and vice versa, what are rare and could actually just be within General Error category etc. Based on my research of all Solved UR's in Finland for last 3 months only about 50% were in right category.
In my opinion this would help to reduce and refocus UR categories to better match with reality which in turn helps users when they are reporting meaning less UR's with wrong category -> Better data and better…

Editing Your Suggested Features
Waze Live Map lets you add a new place, but in some cases, your device might not record the correct place or coordinates. When you want to edit the suggested place by placing the location symbol in the correct place on WME, it doesn't let you edit and recommends that it can only be edited by a Level 2 or higher.
My idea is that it should let you edit your suggestion on WME regardless of your level, and then the reviewer can approve it.3 votes
