Avoid a specific road or place as a one-off when planning a route
I know we've had posts from people wanting to a avoid a particular road they never want to use in the past but what about a one off option to avoid one during the planning phase?
I needed to navigate at the weekend and had been informed a few hours before of a road closure on the most ideal route, Waze didn't know about this and obviously I can't report it until I'm there, so I wanted to avoid a particular location and have Waze route me around it.
I was sure there was an "avoiding" option during the planning…

State by state Laws
When crossing state lines, the app would alert you to state laws regarding cell phone/texting, wipers/headlights, toll transponder reciprocity, etc. We discovered the hard way (toll + fine) that Florida does not accept payment from any other states transponder.

Waze can put Road view into the GPS so that we could know which is the Exit in the Highway. I saw other such as Garmin and Papago did.
Waze could put road view like example if theres 2 exits, a picture of the roads could appear With an arrow to should which road so we wont miss out.

Reporting closures from further away
Closures can currently only be reported if you're right next to the road. I can't always report it because I'm on a roundabout or having to redirect quickly so as not to cause traffic. However, I can pull over a road or two away to report it but the app doesn't allow this since I can only report it if I'm on or next to the closed road.
I think this is an essential feature that needs to be added because sometimes there aren't diversion signs and I have to find my own way around it without waze…56 votes -

Make changes to the suggested route by touching the route I want on the map.
Sometimes I want to make a specific change to the route by touching the map. For example; if I touch and hold a place on the map to signal that I want to go via this road instead of the suggested road, but still remain within the general route chosen.

Next Town Info Panel – Facilities Summary for Road Trips”
📌 Title:
“Next Town Info Panel – Facilities Summary for Road Trips”📝 Description:
As a frequent long-distance driver in regional Australia, I’d love to see Waze include a “Next Town Info” panel that shows what’s coming up ahead on your current route — not just traffic or hazards, but practical facilities in the next town or rest stop. This could pop up when you're within 10–50km of a town and show:
🛢 Fuel stations (brand, current price if available, 24hr status)
🍴 Food options (cafes, fast food, bakeries, etc., maybe with ratings)
🚻 Toilets and rest stops (especially public…

Reduce the excessive frequency of too many warnings on the same stretch of road
Waze = Good morning.
I would kindly like to suggest an implementation of functions, regarding voice warnings, as they are truly TOO MANY and TOO FREQUENT on the same stretch of road! Very repetitive indeed, and so distracting!
In fact, constantly hearing the voice assistant that in a verbose way warns you every 200 meters, instead of just once, or at most twice, no longer makes you pay attention to any turns or changes. We couldn't even talk to each other in the car anymore, with that continuous non-stop voice every two minutes! I had to disable them completely…

Distance units
The Waze client appears to use three types of unit for distance reporting, miles, decimal fractions of miles and feet.
In the UK we generally use two units for road distance, miles and yards. We do not measure road distance in feet, I measure the size of my bedroom in feet but not the length of my road.
Also "point one miles" doesn't mean a lot to me or many other people I'd imagine, not to mention that it is shockingly poor grammar.
Please can we have a UK units option, that supports miles, half a mile and yards.…

Change the color of the street or road name to something brighter, e.g. white or yellow, so that it will be more readable during day time
The street or road name is in dark blue characters, hardly discernable over the black background, especially for older users who need reading glasses. Please change the color of these characters to something brighter, such as white or yellow/

Danger Alarm(Warn Dangerous Points in the Roads)
Hello . I live in Iran. Every year in our country, 30000 die in traffic accident and many injure. There are some places in our roads that frequently accidents happen in the places. One place that I know is the entrance of our city from highway that sometimes bad accidents happen in there. This is because of the inaccurate and inefficient design of the roads. Those who are familiar with the place mostly ride carefully in the dangerous part of the roads, and accidents often happen for those that are unfamiliar with the road.
I suggest…

road trip attractions
add attractions like "horses to the right, or xxxxx monument on the left in .2 miles" would be nice for the passengers to be looking forward to seeing some ponies or cows on a roadtrip & not miss them (ik personally they are my fave parts of roadtrips!)

I'd like to turn off the notification for a car on the side of the road but still listen to Rodger Federer's voice
The Car on the side of the road ding is so loud and obnoxious that I don't want to hear it. I still want to listen to the voice guidance. Please, either get rid of the ding or give me the choice to turn off alerts and still have the voice guidance.

Avoid car only roads
Sometimes a car is towing a trailer and they're not allowed on the same roads as only cars. It would be nice to be able to hit a button and not have to worry about driving down a road you're not allowed to be on.
