Object in roadway
Waze needs to specify which lane to avoid when warning about objects in the road. Add a lane selection when reporting the object and then add that info to the warning. I need to know which lane is safe to drive in.

Ford Sync integration
Later this year, Ford will release the APIs for integrating apps with vehicles that have Sync. Waze could use the vehicle's on-board GPS, speedometer, and other data instead of running the phone's GPS.

Change the "watch out" alert.
I think it would be beneficial to change the way Waze gives alerts. The automated voice says "Watch out" and it's for a vehicle on the shoulder like 2 miles a head of you, or for a cop or something in the middle of the freeway. When Waze alerts about these issues, it always makes my heart drop. Imagine you are on the rode at night and your passenger, says "WATCH OUT" very loud, it would frighten anyone, and the last person you want to be scared is the driver. Maybe something less urgent, for non urgent alerts, like "alert" or something that doesn't sound as immediate.

Traffic lights navigation
Mostly in cities, sometimes I'm used to get navigation guidance from people, telling me to "turn right at the 3rd traffic light ahead" or "turn left at the next junction ahead". I think such navigation method - by counting road & infrastructure elements, rather than calculating distance - could be useful and preferable for some people. It may require initially mapping all these road elements in order to enable it... I believe its worthwhile :)

maximum one report per X miles
Hi there,
Waze is awesome and everyone is using it. Some like me to navigate from Northern Denmark all the way to Romania on holiday others just to find out about speed traps.
In Romania, Waze caught a lot of media attention so we have a lot of new users, who are obsessed with the points. The new users part is good. We get more reports, more places, we improve on the map problems and we know exactly where the police is :)))
But then due to the point system, the new users instead of thanking for a reported police trap they keep re-posting the same thing a lot. This leads to 10-20 police reports for only one police speed trap.
In a village which was 1km long I've seen 13 police reports for the same police car. I generally look from time to time on the map, and even if it is a police marked on the other side I pay attention to the speed limit.
It would be nice to have a limit of reports per a certain distance. I've used other police trap apps and they were limiting the distance between the reports. This way you could only report another police trap if it as more than 1 km away from an already existing one.
This is also happening for traffic reports where on a stretch of 1km road you get 20-30 heavy/standstill traffic. This will only load the server and client uselessly and also consume more data on the end user and server.SUGGESTION: Limit the number of POLICE (visible or invisible)/WEATHER/TRAFFIC/CAR STOPPED ON SHOLDER/ROAD WORKS reports to maximum 1 per 1km in both directions. If a user tries to post a new similar/identical report, use his report as a THANK YOU for the existing report and warn the user to use the thank you (thumbs up) button next time.
The pothole report should be left as it is, as you might have potholes 800m apart.Thank you.

Add mile markers to client maps
I travel on a lot of open stretches and would like to see an option for mile markers on waze maps. If no per mile, maybe every 5 miles or so. Good to sync the maps and also nice if someone were to need assistance along a desolate road with no references. In which case, you could scroll along the map to see which mile marker you were closest to.

Forced Landscape mode
For use with a HUD display that displays as the orientation is on the phone. If it's in the portrait mode it will only fill portrait in the middle of the screen. If you turn the phone on it's side it fills the screen in the landscape mode but. If you have a forced landscape mode, you can orientate the phone in portrait but Waze would be in Landscape and display as landscape on the HUD screen. This would be great. Kind of like keeping it in the night mode instead of auto. Night mode works better with HUD displays. So have a Portrait / Landscape / Auto switch in the preferences.

Street blacklist
Unfortunately in some countries we face the reality of violence and sometimes the fastest route is not safe. So, my proposal is that we could have a "Street blacklist" in order to be able to add streets that we don't want to be in the route, preventing us to check all the route and try to find a new route every time or in a situation when we want a new route fast and during the route we notice that the navigation is going in the way that we don't want.
